The grind this band has been on is crazy. They literally went to 6A UIL State Championships, San Antonio Super Regional, and now Grand Nationals all in the span of LESS THAN 2 WEEKS, that just shows you the amount of endurance and agility that there is in marching band, especially for one of the best bands in the nation.
It’s so hard to not compare this to the 1994 blue devils, “my Spanish heart”. Haha. If you guys havnt seen it. It’s the same opener. And they go into the 1995 blue devils later in the show. It’s fantastic. I think they did an amazing job though. Great show.
Fabulous! Great design and performance. I had the pleasure of seeing this whole contest live and sat w/ a few other judges right on the 50. I would have placed TWHS 2nd after finals. Alas, I think this is probably the 3rd Nats in a row they've underplaced, imo, despite placing very very well regardless. It's a pity the finals panel saw things so differently from the semis panel and opened up a bizarre two point gap between Hebron/TWHS and the top -- just my professional opinion. But scores in no way diminish any of these bands. To paraphrase Gertrude Stein, a great show is a great show is a great show. And TWHS did cross a 97 for their first time in semis, so good for y'all! 👍
Why they didn’t get any awards for semi finals?? And 3rd place?? I really don’t understand how the judges scored this great show. Good luck to the finals!!
Because it is not a 2023 show. They got the memo on the uniforms, but there was far too much marching and playing and not nearly enough dancing and running in circles.
@@trumpetparker9771 An incomplete uniform without the shakos. There's a reason shakos were worn for years and years and years. Today's generation tries to make things about themselves.
@@shritan0It's incredibly deep. It's cancel culture trying to destroy an art form. Marching band has always been about wearing the complete uniform, representing something greater than yourself, being as complete and precise as possible. Choosing to not wear a shako (and for some of the dumbest reasons I've heard) is next level selfishness and willful ignorance. It's not even debatable.
@@atlantic_love cancel culture has nothing to do with this, it’s just a uniform, don’t see why it matters as long as they’re playing good music and marching well (which they are)
