You know the best part? The 2 minute battery life. Just such a huge improvement over the Steam Deck. You get the authentic desktop PC gaming experience and have to keep it plugged in to get any decent amount of play time.
@@zeblackboi yeah the distinction is in the feel. The steamdeck, when you turn it on first time, you set your language, location and steam account. From that point onward you turn the system on and immediately load into their steamos frontend which makes it feel more like a console. At no point do you ever have the touch the linux side of things, all your games should just work (playability rating not withstanding since something not being playable might be a single touch screen selection) The Rog on the other hand does a windows setup and from there you need to update everything and manually setup everything yourself from the windows 11 desktop,. Once done then you can set a front end at that point if you want, but more likely then not you want to make full use of your armory menu and the benefit of running some things off the windows system so likely wont. So TLDR: The steamdeck is a handheld console that you can load into arch linux if you want, The Rog Ally is a handheld pc that you can play games on (albeit very well once you tweek each game just right).
