@@ClemmyGames Yeah. But after 20 minutes I forgot where you mentioned it and just checked your list. When It wasnt there I just added the comment. I mean no offense.
It makes me happy that you cover indie games. Not just that you cover an area of the market that seems to be flourishing with creative minds but you stick to the quality ones as well. The barrier for entry in making these titles is a lot lower and as such there is also a lot of crap in the indie part of the industry. Thanks for giving such golden recommendations and not just pouring them out for the sake of your channel's name. Thanks my guy! now to go play :)
Cheers, that's the intention! I do spend quite a bit of time lookgin through literally thousands of games every year just to find the good ones for you!
As an indie game dev pixel artist, i just wanted to pop in to say how grateful I am to see someone review and outright appreciate that pixel art is an entire medium (like how 3D is it's own medium) and not an 'art style'. I really enjoyed what you had to say about a lot of these games, and you have a very unique and refreshing approach to talking about these! Also you covered some games I haven't even heard of that look absolutely amazing here, and I'm excited to check them out!! I'm definitely subscribing to your channel--I look forward to hearing your reviews/critiques/recs on games in the future!
As the sole dissenter, I just couldn't get on with Hades that well. Obviously, the quality of the overall production is top notch but I found the combat visually cluttered and repetitive enough to ultimately abandon playing well before getting to the true ending. It seems I'm one of the very few people that respect the work Supergiant does, but just doesn't really like their games, which is a shame, because sharing in the enthusiasm of the wider community is fun. Oh well. Anyway, thanks for all the content this year Clement, we'll get you to 100K in 2021!
@@ClemmyGames I've been pondering that question for several days now that people's lists are starting to show up. And after some thought, I continue to feel like that almost every game that actually launched this year (not early access or updates) didn't stand out enough from the pack to merit top 3 status. And that's not to say it wasn't a good year, to the contrary, I think it speaks to the overall quality of games, just nothing that really stood out from the pack like Hades does for many people. A game that I think could have gotten more love this year was Thousand Threads. Otherwise, THE LONGING deserves credit for trying something different. And I guess the third would be Creeper World 4, a really solid and fun strategy game. But I've been gaming since 1974, when I was first introduced to a tabletop version of Pong, so I think I'm coming from a different perspective (at least a little bit) than the majority of the community. Aside from that, I tend to look for games that either do what games do best, new ideas/genres and interesting and new mechanics that lead to emergent storytelling, above polish, graphic fidelity, or games that might have just worked better as a film or book (not that I'm particularly unique in that). So while I can and do enjoy stuff like Gears Tactics or Yakuza: Like a Dragon and continue to play each new league of Path of Exile for a little while, I tend towards the more niche stuff (much of which is of inconsistent quality) or dabble into my back catalogue of games. All that said, I think 2021 looks like it's going to be a good year for the indies. (sorry for the length of this reply) All the best!
this is so true , just beat the game one and never comeback to replay The quality overall is impressive , but the gameplay loop is very simple and updrage skill not that intersting
I feel the same, wish I could feel the same as everyone else but its just not happening. I've probably played way too many rogue likes prior to this one and I've kinda already seen a lot it has to offer. Also not a fan of the combat, it just doesn't satisfy me like it does with others. My friend felt the opposite, absolutely adores it.
Mortal Shell is such an underrated game. As a huge souls fan, I thought it was genius how they were able to make it so similar to Dark Souls while also making it completely unique.

As always, another great list with some to add to the ol' wishlist. I already own 7 of these titles (wasn't too keen on Noita) and will look into Star Renegades, Huntdown and Pumpkin Jack. Hey clemmy, maybe you should consider having these lists stretch from beginning of december to end of November. December releases get consistently shafted on yearly lists since there's obviously not enough time to play them once GOTY season comes around. To see these titles then be left out the following year without any recognition for their efforts just makes me feel bad, and I know it's on your mind as well since you've highlighted two excellent games who won't ever get the recognition they deserve because of their release dates. This is a systemic issue in GOTY coverage that affects pretty much everyone who isn't releasing their lists in february/march like a select few publications do, and I'd hope that by doing this small change, we can give games released in December the same chance to be appreciated as everyone else gets. Otherwise excellent list and thank you for the great work you do highlighting indie games!

Great list. Hades was the clear winner this year, but Monster Sanctuary is my personal favorite because I love the genre and its absolutely the best update to the monster tamer genre in 20 years. Just didn’t get on with Hades, never felt I really got the hang of it. Loved Carrion but the lack of a map, whilst novel, was a bit annoying. How Factorio didn’t get #1 slot is beyond me. Overall, like your review style. :)
Cheers Dworkin, thanks for sharing your thoughts! Fair enough but do give Hades another couple more runs ;) Yep, the map seems to be the maing sticking point for people but I thought it wasn't too bad. Factorio is excellent
Hades plays fantastically on Switch. Keyboard / mouse is a bit wonky so a controller of some kind is a must. It allows remapping the buttons so if your style isn’t their intended style you can move things about.
Thank you for this list, only complaint I have is that yellow bar that describes the game. Please make it go away after a few seconds it takes away from what we’re trying to watch.
What is the very first game that's playing during your introduction of the video? Not from the actual list of games, but, literally from the first few seconds of the video?
@@ClemmyGames chill man, at least you're brave enough to use your own voice. while me ain't even considered it for my own videos cuz my voices are way more annoying 🙃

Great video ! You got a new sub !
Thanks for the sub! 👊
Hey What is the game what you showed in the start section?. By the way I love your videos :)
Morbid the 7 acolytes. thanks for watching!
Thanks to the vid, I got to buy Fae Tactics. Fan of the devs who made Valdis Story, forgot about this game being in development for a while.
Nice! Thanks for supporting them!
what was the game at the start? that looked amazing.
morbid the 7 acolytes
Could somebody please tell what the game in the intro of this video is? (the pixel diabloid)
Morbid the Seven Acolytes
@@ClemmyGames Thanks!
Great list, completely agree with you on top 4
Thanks Dawn
Hi, just wondering if you have a top video for indie local coop games?
What game in the firs seconds of video?
jeez you really had great list
Excelent work and good list , sad not see castlestorm 2 but thanks for the top :)
Interesting pick!
the lack of map in CARRION for us was a major issue. getting lost was a real problem
I felt it was self-contained enough but thanks for sharing!
Congrats on the views Clemmy🖤🎃🖤
Thanks
Is Noita coming out on consoles?
No news yet but I don't see why not!
I came from the future to tell you that you lost the masterpiece that is Tainted Grail
hi
What is the second game called? The one where they are flying
What is the game you playing in the intro
Morbid the 7 acolytes

What are the 2 games in the beggining of the video?
morbid the 7 acolytes and Haven
Great job on the video
Thank you for this list, only complaint I have is that yellow bar that describes the game. Please make it go away after a few seconds it takes away from what we’re trying to watch.
Can't wait to get Pumpkin Jack for PS4!
Thanks for supporting indies!
What is the very first game that's playing during your introduction of the video? Not from the actual list of games, but, literally from the first few seconds of the video?
Hades has to be one of the best indie games of all time
One of the best ;)
Whaaaat??? Never !!!!!
very very nice selection of games!! 👍
Thanks for the visit!
Great job with the channeli wish you good vibes on 2021
Thanks Ignacio! hope next year's good for you as well
Extroverts: 2020 was the worst year that ever happend
Gamers: *COOM*
:D
I love how people assume extroverts and gamers are mutually exclusive traits
Which game is the one he is playing all the way in the beginning? Doesnt appear in the list
what is the name of the game that appeared in the begining of the video, the diablolike game
Pumpkin Jack seems sick, I need to play it sometime
Please do!
Hello, what game was shown right at the start of the video?
Great selection. SUBSCRIBED!!
Awesome, welcome to the channel!
what is the start game in minute 0.00
Even tho i kinda hate your voice, your review are hella solid. Great videos man 👌
:(
@@ClemmyGames chill man, at least you're brave enough to use your own voice. while me ain't even considered it for my own videos cuz my voices are way more annoying 🙃
@@ClemmyGames seems like it's more of accent rather than your voice tho. sorry
What the game in "start" 0:00?
0:09 whats the game at start?
Does One Step From Eden have any sort of accessibility modes to slow down the pace of combat? I'm interested in it, but it looks like it might be way too fast paced for my brain and reflexes.
I don't think so. It's just the way it was desgined. Too fast for me lol but I may just need more time with it
Thanks p, i will try some of these !!
Excellent list, thank you and best wishes for 2021🍾🎄 👌🏻
Thanks Frenk, you too
@@ClemmyGames Thank you so much 😉👍🏻
Vigil the longest night was so good. Would love to see some more content. It literally sucked me on for days
Played through "The Bounty of the Night" update?
Nope but now that I know its out im starting now thank you.
Does anyone know the name of a game set in a city where animals walk upright and wear clothes. A life sim type game I think?
you need to be more specific. Hokko life? Button city? Backbone?
@@ClemmyGames i think it was backbone i was thinking of. But I remembered slightly different.
What's the name of the game at the start of the video? Doesn't get into the list...
Saved on a gaming playlist for future reference. :)
Make sure to check this out for hidden gems to play! ruclips.net/video/aHmN9yXKZFg/видео.html
If you haven't done so already, you definitely have to Do a video about the ghosts and goblins genre (like battle of Madelyn 2018).
