in your living room, move the couch to where the table is now and put the tv where the couch is now, then put the table where the tv is now? that way you have a "smaller" tv space and a bit for the table, but nothing is in the way and its still different from the old house
Looks great! You can put some frames with family photos where the tv is or a basket with blankets and above the couch you can put a mirror to fill in the blank walls and make the space even larger!!
When I moved from my old flat to my new one, I sobbed for days. It was my first home with my daughter, the first place I could really call my home as I’d been sofa surfing for a while. I’d moved in there a single parent just my daughter (5 months old at the time) and I. And to leave all that behind, broke my heart. However!!! And a big however, I LOVE where we are now. You’re not the only one who got emotional when they moved! I moved out of the house that I had lived in since I was born and I felt so sick and I was so emotional all day! I was even crying myself to sleep for a few nights, but after a while when everything was unpacked I felt so much better 💗
i felt exactly the same when i last moved, i was quite young and our terms of moving were not very good, but i think its really normal to feel that way. it was yours and alex's first home together, and you will have an emotional attachment even if you dont think you do. im so glad you feel better now :)
Stress can cause you to cry for no reason and feel nauseous. Even if you don't feel that stressed it could still be a factor. Everything looks so cute and clean i love it
I think you should put the dining table where the tv is to the corner closest to the garden and then put the tv in the other corner and then put the tv in the other corner. Then put the ornaments next to the sofa instead of next to the tv xx
With the tv wall I would hang the tv and then purchase a really nice taller cupboard , get a beautiful big chair for the corner and a small coffee table to go with the chair 🤷🏻♀️😊
The week before I moved from a supported living unit to my own flat I also felt very sad but I put that down to stress from being overwhelmed by the amount of packing and sorting I had to do. Now I feel happy for the most part in my flat and I am also happy that you and Alex are now moved in. The sounds of your washing machine and you removing the packaging from the rug were satisfying to hear.

Hi Sophie, not sure if you will see this, but I just wanted to say that you have no reason to apologise about not filming, moving is overwhelming asf, and the fact that you and Alex actually brought your OWN house, is incredible, and that is probably why you were upset. That house was the first step towards the new house, and the life that you will build with Alex, and it’s amazing! I was a military child so I have moved 15 times in the 14 years my I lived with my dad (he then left the military 4 months later as he had to finish a posting) and even once I moved back to the uk in 2015, now in 2018, I have lived in 5 different houses (one flat as I had to go live in my uncles flat with my fam for a while) and it is tricky, really difficult and is overwhelming. I just hope that the anxiety will die down so that you can enjoy the last parts of making your house a home. I hope you have a wonderful evening Sophie, please take it easy. Don’t stress (I know that that is easier said than done) but you have Alex, your family, and us beside you every single step of the way ❤️❤️

when I moved out of Uni halls this year I was on and off crying all day, it was so horrible and felt like proper heartbreak hyperventilating crying! I get it completely and I think it's just normal as that was the first house you lived in on your own and so it's always going to be different. It’s completely normal! We had to move out of our first flat as the landlord wanted to sell. I think I was more sad because it was our first place, so you’ll always have an attachment to it, but you’ll always find something better! Looks lovely!💕 Also, as for filling up space in the living room what I did is get big prints and frame them and just have them against the wall, on the floor, rather than them hanging on the wall. Works wonders :)

I moved out of a place after six years and I couldn't wait to get out, the overall experience, right down to the landlord, was really bad. Oddly enough I found myself crying when I walked out for the last time, which really shocked me. A lot happens in our lives during our stay at each apt or house, it's always like you're leaving a little sliver of yourself behind. Congrats on your new house! :)

Ive just moved to! Well 3 weeks ago and I was crying too when I left my last house so don't feel alone. You keep buying all the same things that I have too, except im buying a different type of fabric bed!
i would put the rug in the center of the couch(so the side of the rug goes halfway through the chaselon part, and halfway through the side-part of the couch), and also put it like 5-10 inches under the sofa :)
Love the new house! One thing I’d put the microwave under the boiler on an angle like the bread bin! And then put your tea, coffee and sugar jars near the kettle 💖💖
We have the same TV unit but in black brown, and we also have the surrounding shelves and bridging shelf unit for all our books and games; it makes it really cosy looking in my opinion 😊 so just an idea, sure they have them in white too if you wanted more shelves for stuff! Your home is really lovvvvely! Hope you're very happy there!
Sophie I went through exactly the same. When my boyf and I bought our house I cried and cried. I was in a depressive slump for about a month. Literally cried every single day and anything would set me off crying. I was so over whelmed on my actual moving day, my parents were there and my boyfriends parents and they were all faffing around me moving the stuff and I just wanted to flop and cry (managed to hold it in until everyone went home) I struggled with feeling like the home was mine, I moved from england to Wales, and I honestly felt so lost because even simple things like bins and recycling were so different ! On top of that Christmas was like the week after and it felt so weird waking up in a strange house on Christmas Day. I just cried so much, took me a full month to actually settle in and stop crying lol. I can look back now and laugh at myself but I was so so sad and whenever anyone asked me why I was so sad about it I couldn’t say why... I just didn’t know! So I know what you mean xx

I would turn the rug so it extends towards the tv. The width is perfect for the corner sofa and that way it pulls the tv and sitting area together. Just an idea 😊.

I sobbed and sobbed when we left our old house, it took me a few weeks to get used to the new house but it was hard. Now I love it!!!

Ive just moved to! Well 3 weeks ago and I was crying too when I left my last house so don't feel alone. You keep buying all the same things that I have too, except im buying a different type of fabric bed!
i would put the rug in the center of the couch(so the side of the rug goes halfway through the chaselon part, and halfway through the side-part of the couch), and also put it like 5-10 inches under the sofa :)
Sophie on the wall by the tv you could do it as an accent wall and put on a patterned wallpaper, it would fill up the emptiness. Xxx
Love the new house! One thing I’d put the microwave under the boiler on an angle like the bread bin! And then put your tea, coffee and sugar jars near the kettle 💖💖

We have the same TV unit but in black brown, and we also have the surrounding shelves and bridging shelf unit for all our books and games; it makes it really cosy looking in my opinion 😊 so just an idea, sure they have them in white too if you wanted more shelves for stuff!

Sophie I went through exactly the same. When my boyf and I bought our house I cried and cried. I was in a depressive slump for about a month. Literally cried every single day and anything would set me off crying. I was so over whelmed on my actual moving day, my parents were there and my boyfriends parents and they were all faffing around me moving the stuff and I just wanted to flop and cry (managed to hold it in until everyone went home) I struggled with feeling like the home was mine, I moved from england to Wales, and I honestly felt so lost because even simple things like bins and recycling were so different ! On top of that Christmas was like the week after and it felt so weird waking up in a strange house on Christmas Day. I just cried so much, took me a full month to actually settle in and stop crying lol. I can look back now and laugh at myself but I was so so sad and whenever anyone asked me why I was so sad about it I couldn’t say why... I just didn’t know! So I know what you mean xx

I would turn the rug so it extends towards the tv. The width is perfect for the corner sofa and that way it pulls the tv and sitting area together. Just an idea 😊.
I think for the lounge you should split the room in half. So have the sofa and TV at one end then the dining area the other xx

You could build a bookcase/shelves around the space where the tv goes and fill it with decorations and books
you could fill the kitchen space with a little bar style table and stools, and maybe fill up some of the space on the living room wall with a pretty mirror or something like that. so glad you're happier now ❤

Oh! In the living room I would build a big shelving unit! Put a lot of books, plants that dangle and photos in it.
Do a feature wall with wallpaper or above your tv put 2 shelf up aline with each other with plants, frames will look beautiful 😍
