I was lucky enough to see this short in front of Roy E. Disney. When the screening ended and the lights went on I was sitting on the front raw, my face wet with tears. Roy looked at me and smiled, knowing he had reached his goal. This short will be forever linked to that memory for me...

I just watched this video in an art class, we talked about surrealism, I knew some works but others did not. I am really shocked and amazed, this is so beautiful, all the colors, meanings, history everything so strange but perfect, all the illusionism, the images trap you and make you a slave of all their magnitude and love. All the senses so deep, i feel heavy and out of my own body. And as the teacher said "the more times you watch the more you notice details and fall in love" just magnific
Dali truly was another breed! This is all from his mind, I'm sure Disney was hell bent on animating the beauty, chaos, and peace that only Dali could imagine... I'm very glad they did it, this is amazing!
Dalí pintaba sus sueños y pesadillas. Quienes no comprenden la genialidad de su obra lo tildan de loco, pero es un gran artista. "Los genios nunca deben morir".
imagine what has happend to Disney and Dali after they had died. The works and ground fundation the have left. Just to be taken by part ownership of the thing those have become. The have become production companies that are pumping out product far from what it was. This goes for both Disney in greater extend than dali, but both have become some thing that is not for the best. These guys are some of the more brilliant people this world has seen. Maybe even one of the more crazy minds but still. hats off and hope more of these minds will see the day.
That was very nice. I am not sure what I watched, but it was something about love, men & women, time, and what the heart wants. It was very dreamlike without being luridly psychedelic. I'll probably rewatch it later and let it sink a bit deeper into my mind.
I am a french photographer in love with a mexican woman in San Luis Potosi on social network but with covid pandemic period, we need to wait to meet us in real, we have hope because it's our....destino ! xoxo
And if you both are patient and commited enough, destiny would put you together soon. That's what I experienced recently as well, with my american boyfriend, and also I'm from México, he visits me now each weekend. The reason why we met online was quite interesting, not to be expected, destiny has its strange ways to guide us in different paths. Good vibes.
@@JackDurian Welcome. Sometimes I feel lonely regardless of this "near distance" relationship, we can exchange some advices whenever you want. ¡Saludos!
maybe try to focus on details than the full picture which looks a bit creepy the one with mustache is probably dali, other might be his wife. dali's umm, tortoise shell? has the gems embedded, his wife got nothing. yet they both created the uhh... ball-erina? dali was probably being specific about his creative talents > his wife via the gems, yet, he couldn't have accomplished, reached his destiny, without her. kinda sweet.
there is another channel that uploaded this animation as well @egwegw7378 in the comments there, said something important regarding the work: Masterpiece. But the truth is that Dali and John Hench (Walt Disney's designer and creative director that time) were working together on that project for some months. Walt had just chosen the song Destino and asked Salvador to "paint" it. Neither John nor Salvador were fond of the song but they worked hard for eight months. In the weekends they went to Carmel where Dali had a small atelier and discussed about "Destino". John Hench makes fun in an interview of how awful they both speak French, and they became friends quickly. However, it is said, that when Walt Disney saw the first 15 seconds they had prepared decided it was too eccentric for his audience and stopped the project. After 53 years, in 1999, Roy Disney opened up the Destino case and thanks to memories of the 91 year old John Hench created this masterpiece.

It’s brilliant.. My family are Disney fanatics & this definitely just became my favorite
You got to see that... In person? 🥺
I wish we still had Roy’s vision and heart at the helm of the animation department. I tear up every time I watch this, too.
Fantastic... I cannot help but be envious
I saw this short with Walt Disney, when he invited me to his Los Feliz home to drink beer & smoke weed.
This is the kind of film that makes you feel as though you’re in love when you aren’t.
In love with yourself

So unique for Disney..not typical. How would have Picasso interpreted this or a Juan Miro..
Truly epic, I'm just astonished. The quality of animation even rivals today's anime artists.

Dalí me parece genial. Además de ser un gran dibujante su imaginación era portentosa. Me ha encantado
Tendré que verlo mas veces para asimilar la historia, pero Disney siempre maravilloso y banda sonora preciosa.

Enchanting ! Didn´t you feel like time stopped while seeing it first time?? feels much more than 6 min. surreal at its best!
Me recuerda un poco al clásico de Disney Fantasía, la combinación entre Dalí y Disney solo puede traer esta mezcla entre surrealismo y belleza.
Very nice at the same time relaxing
