I’m working on getting into nurse informatics soon. After developing PTSD from a couple experiences at the bedside, I’m bound and determined to get away. How would you suggest I start networking with the informatics team in my hospital? I’ve taken notes on how I would improve the EHR (also Cerner). Should I bring them to the team and pitch my ideas? Or would it be best just to apply?
Here already burned out after only two years as RN. Thinking a lot to do my msn in nurse informatics

i was reading a book about life goals and when I checked my phone, ur video is one of the suggested to watch. Hhhmmm Im kinda interested to know about nurse informatics. U look so happy and contented. I plan to travel next year and might start studying again.
Thanks for sharing this, it’s never to late to pursue something. I mean there are even such things as traveling nursing informatics. Many options out there friend.

Nice video , can you tell me more about how the day goes? Like which tasks you had to do , lunches breaks, team atmosphere vs solo , remote possibility, income vs bedside nurse is higher or lower ?
David I love watching your videos! You give such great information regarding Informatics! I too have an Informatics degree and absolutely enjoy the 8 hr days and surprisingly being away from the beside! Thank for taking the time to journal and share with us 😊😊

I really wanted to go to 8 hour like a normal employee, im tired of doing 12 hours. I wanted to be with my husband schedule. :) days 8 hour a day.

I have been hesitating on getting my MSN degree, but I would like to go into nursing informatics if I do go back to school. The issue I’m having is when I feel it is right to go back to school and choosing a school. I worked in the hospital as a mental health nurse for 2 years and I just recently left that job to work in a skin cancer center. Also, do most nursing informatic jobs look for nurses who have more medsurg experience?
