My fall & winter essentials are a lightweight black polyester fleece jacket, brown wool jacket, dark navy peacoat, synthetic base-layer, brown wax leather chukka boots, wool accessories (fingerless gloves, hats, scarves, socks, buff), long-sleeve polos, and sweaters.
Fall is my favourite time of year for fashion. I love fall colors, and the colder weather, allows you to wear layers. People who say cardigans make you look like an old man, or the same folks whose pant break falls barely below the top of their calf, and do not know the difference between dress pants, and exercise tights. If you have style, the classics always look good on you! Love cardigans. Timeless fall/winter essential! Scarves and pocket squares, are vastly underused accents!
Just received the same scarf and I love it! Mine was #21. Marcel is a great guy and I'm looking forward to doing business with him in the future. Glad to see you back by the way- you were missed.
Hope all is well and wish you still made videos. Keep doing your thing. Great video, and great fall/winter recommendations. Hated sweaters up until last year. Absolutely love my cardigan sweaters now though.
Great to se you outdoors Vlad. Great to hear you talk about pleated trousers and age. I agree with you. I just bought a pair of pleated trousers because I like the look only to hear the Style OG tell me they make me look old. And in keeping with what you said my wife likes them. So I’m going to wear them with pride.
Fam I agree with you with fall and winter seasons. This is the perfect time to bring out your very best, the color of the flannel pants along with sweater scarf and let’s not forget the shoes...exceptional hermano. Thanks for posting. Enjoy your thanksgiving brother. Adios.
Appreciate the video, Vladimir! Just picked up some mid grey flannel trousers from Spier & Mackay. One of my go-to essentials has to be a good sweater, like that shawl cardigan or the polo sweater I just picked up from them. Looking forward to more content!
Vlad. A beautiful cardigan, but maintenance is a real problem if you don't have both the knowledge and experience. My hometown is where the best merino wool was grown and the old generation Australians use Martha Gardiner's Wool Wash, that is still sold in absolutely every supermarket in Australia. It is simply pure white bar soap, like ivory, dissolved in water but the secret is the addition of eucalyptus oil, from a tree that's native to Australia but was exported to California. Phil.
@@v_r_ The real problem with merino wool jumpers and cardigans is that drycleaning them removes the natural oils from the wool and if you wash them, then just hang them on a clothesline, they lose their shape. No Men's Clothing channel that I have watched advises how to look after knitted wool jumpers and cardigans. They all assume men know how. Phil.
Suede (or suede/calf) boots, wool sweaters/long sleeve polos from John Henric, and Gentlemen's Gazette gloves. Rafael really nailed the glove fit. I don't baby my gloves and they are aging beautifully!
I love my flannel trousers. I'm also a sweater person. I have all sorts, but I particularly like the v-neck as a layering piece. Thanks for this video!
Great pieces man! That S&M Shawl lapel Cardigans is epic. Will be getting one or two also. Was going to get from Kent Wang but having a super nice Merino wool over the lambswool is the way to go! Love the scarf too! Right up my alley, unfortunately there is no where for me to get use out of in Florida. One day.
Haha..that’s why I can’t live somewhere that doesn’t have a winter. I gotta be able to wear my scarves, heavy coats and gloves 😂😂. And I’d definitely recommend Merino over lambswool. It’s a lot softer.
What's up Vlad ! Great picks, I really like those trousers as well as the cardigan ( I also wear them more as a jacket) the scarf's beautiful too. I can't wait for the second installment !✌❤
My man Vlad. You and I know that every time a new product is released and it sells well the second version and 3rd are always improved upon. I've learned that with Spier's products. I held out this time. Will wait for next season.
What’s up, Dominic? There are always improvements for sure. I find that to be the case with most things, not just Menswear or S&M. Whether it’s a new iPhone, a new car model, etc.
I’m digging that shawl collar cardigan, Vladimir. The whole “old man look” about cardigans stems from Mr. Rogers, however I’ve noticed the shawl collar and “blazer-style” cardigans are distinctive enough. Not to say being compared to Mr. Rogers is a bad thing or anything like that.
Great video my friend. That scarf looks amazing. As for the light grey flannel that looks like a medium it seems to be commun. I've purchased a medium grey one from S&M and it looks more like a dark grey. My favorite winter essential has to be the polo coat. I have a navy and a brown herringbone. Can't wait to wear them both. That shawl collar cardigan looks really nice as well. I understand why you mentioned its versatility. Keep the videos coming 👌
I'm 20 and I like an old men style more and more. Double pleats and side tabs looks gorgeous for me) And this heavy cardigan it's something else. But I like it to be more fitted.
I worry about the SpierMackay and Kent Wang cardigans, the price point is almost too low. They definitely cut corners somewhere to deliver that price point. I have a few shawl neck sweaters from makers out of Hawick and the Aran Islands, and I can say that they are bullet proof. Worn them in snow and rain, on hikes and under coats, and they show no signs of wear.
I hear you and I feel that way about a lot of S&M products, like how can Rick keep the prices so low. The good news is, I haven’t been disappointed yet. And from everything I hear, the S&M version is much better than the KW just based on the merino wool alone. It’s much softer, pill resistant and not itchy. I’m not personally familiar with the other brands that you’ve mentioned as far as owning their product but I would definitely recommend that you give these a look from S&M.
@@v_r_ I understand the price of the Spier'n'Mackay line is their REAL advantage over other stuff. Those are actually places, not brands. Both are located in Scotland, UK. Hawick has a long tradition of knitters and is where the Drakes cardigans are manufactured. The Aran Islands are in the extreme north of the country and are home to the best knitters in the world.
