Kelly, your content is so incredible! I've discovered a lot of new products because of you! And probably spent WAY more than I should, but my skin has never looked or felt better. Thanks for your work!
I love milk cleansers for the morning. I used the Sioris and the Isntree yam root and loved both. Others I really recommend are the Make Prem cleansing milk, Dewytree Amino cleansing milk, Minon cleansing cream and the Nameraka Sana cleansing cream.
That clay mask tip is great!! I haven’t used my Indian healing clay mask for that exact reason! I have plans of purchasing isntrees yam line indefinitely now! Happy Holiday Kelly 🤍🥰
15:19 I was looking for more reviews on the yam cleanser and your description on it sold me! Just ordered mine. New subscriber, you’re very pleasant to watch!
Hi Kelly unfortunately my skin reacted to the Isntree yam cleanser and I was so disappointed as I love a cream cleanser. My absolute favourite is the Avene roseliac milk cleanser- it’s super creamy, gentle and effective. It even takes off my mascara without any eye irritation and my eyes are extremely sensitive. This is what I use when my rosacea is flaring and for travel as its an all in one for me. The LRP toleraine isn’t hydrating enough and the Lipikar has fragrance (the Lipikar works ok on the body for me). I also really like the Kate Somerville Delikate cleanser as it’s very gentle yet effective, but more of a second or morning cleanser for me. The Avene Xerocalm also works great on my eczema prone body skin. Best wishes x
Hi Loraine! I haven't been here in a while but I replied to a lot of your comments in the past and you've given me some great advice. I always love how detailed and helpful your comments are! ❤️ I love avene products a little bit more than lrp usually, but I do love my lrp toleriane hydrating cleanser. I may have to give that avene roseliac cleanser a try this winter!
@@melindagenitempo2359 thanks I had a horrible reaction to the liquid/lipid gold and living in the UK it was expensive for shipping to then be unable to use it. If I lived in the US I might try their cleanser but I’m not really willing to order it after my last experience with the brand and pay shipping to the UK. Thanks for letting me know however x
Between the colder weather and the heat blasting in buildings, my skin has been wrecked. My normal moisturizers haven’t been cutting it, so I finally checked out vanicream. It has been a lifesaver, and it’s cheap! Sometimes I mix it with my regular moisturizer, layer it on top, or use it by itself.
Shockingly, I find La Roche lipikar cleanser suuuper stripping. Ended up using it as a hand wash. Finding Bioderma sensibio much more gentle as my second cleanse. Love the Isntree yam cleanser for my am. Thanks for always giving us excellent options xxx
I can use it in the summer , but i'd agree, it doesn't really add moisture on dry skin. Does a decent job removing sunscreen and even light makeup for a cream cleanser.
Great video. Oddly enough my go to gentle cleanser of choice is the Mad About Skin Gentle Jelly Cleanse made by one of your recent podcast guests. It hydrates well and works great as a shaving gel replacement.
The MAS Cleanser was too thick and didn't wash off nicely -- for my oily skin. I think it could be great for folks with dry skin. I gave it to my dry friend.
I love the La Roche posay toleriane hydrating cleanser! It's so lovely and cleans so well but never dries me out. I love the lipikar cleanser too but it's too drying for my face. I love it for my body though! Also, this list is ordered very well because the lrp toleriane is the richest I can go, stratia cleanser is too rich and filmy for me!
I recently ran out of my favorite Paula's Choice Oil Cleanser just as the weather turned cold and the central air is running a lot. Water based foaming cleanser isn't cutting it. Thanks for this video.
Hello! I've used it as a morning cleanse and after about a week of daily use, I noticed closed comedones along my jaw and on my neck. I've heard it should be used as a first cleanse in the evening, on dry skin.
That La Roche Posay cleanser is beautiful! I find it removes my make-up perfectly, as well as two layers of sunscreen. The Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser (light blue cap) is also excellent. I'd compare it to the Cerave hydrating cleanser, which I don't like but only for the smell 😅
My skin reacts to rice and oats and sunflower/safflower 😂 toleraine has been the only milk cleanser i can tolerate, but my skin is very dry, any recs for a richer milk cleanser would be much appreciated
My skin is a bit odd in what it likes for cleansers. I use either the Isntree Yam Root or The Ordinary Squalane cleanser in the morning when my skin is constantly dry or feeling irritated. Otherwise, I use a micellar water in the morning to remove whatever I used for slugging the night before. At night, I often use coconut or jojoba oil for my first cleanse with the LRP Hydrating cleanser as my second cleanse. Whenever I use the coconut oil first, my skin reacts as if I’m finally giving it what it needs. I know that sounds bizarre, but it’s what my crazy skin likes.
The Toleriane creamy cleanser is like hugging your face, like cleansing it with a moisturizer. I adore that cleanser and even if I've tried others, I haven't found any I like better. I always have the feeling I don't remove all the cleanser from my face, but now I understand why, since you said it makes a film. I just hope it doesn't make actives less effective (like retinoids, etc.). I discovered this cleanser via Dr Dray, she always recommended it and said it was the best one for people on tretinoin
@@KellyDriscoll but what about stem cell serums, the numerous NIOD and The Ordinary water based serums - not to mention the pricey ones from the likes of Neogenesis and those other "medical-grade" skincare" brands? Yes, retinoids do somehow manage to get through, but what about all the others?
Hi Kelly! The Yam Root from Isntree, is it first or second cleanser? Can we just use it as the only cleanser to wash the dirt at the end of the day? Thank you
It would be considered a 2nd cleanser if you do double cleansing. On it's own it can remove light layers of sunscreen and makeup but not great for a full face or hard to remove cosmetics.
I know I’m a year late & there might be better ones out there now, but I have bad milia spots & dry, very sensitive skin. I’ve been debating between the ISNTree Yam Root & Stratia Velvet cleanser. I LOVE Stratias Lipid Gold, it’s one of my favorites. But haven’t tried any others. Ughh I can’t decide 😂 I need your help Kelly! 🥹
Oh my goodness, I have combo skin that gets oilier in the summer (now-ish, I’m in Australia) and the Stratia and Insntree are still fab for me, though they do feel even better in the winter. As for clay mask, not sure if you have tried the NIOD Flavanone Mud? I recently picked it up in the Slowvember sale and it is hands down the best clay mask I’ve ever used. Brightening, pore cleansing, pore minimising and yet didn’t irritate or dry me out. It gave me the benefits of chemical exfoliation/Vit C but way way gentler (I only use AHA once a week, and I stopped using Vit C cause it was making me break out plus was irritating).
Is there one of these kinds of cleansers that completely rinses off? I use an obscenely expensive stem cell factor serum which is applied directly after cleansing, and I'm concerned that any kind of residue, for lack of a better term, will impact the penetration of the stem cell serum. What kind of a cleanser would you suggest that is moisturizing and yet doesn't leave anything behind? Is there such a moisturizing cleanser?
I'm taking oral isotretinoine and wanted to try a new moisturising cleanser. I was about to buy LRP Lipikar but than I saw an ingredients list and saw a strong detergent just at the beginning... I wonder why they use it in a product for sensitive skin, I even avoid SLES in my hair routine (I sometimes use it to clean residue but it's another topic) then why would I want to use it on my face... I'm a bit baffled tbh and finally I didn't buy this product because of that. .
Thank you for the video, Kelly! Honestly, the most gentle cleanser I've used and loved was the Tatcha The Rice Wash Skin-Softening, which is crazy because it's not a non-foaming cream cleanser. Do you have any suggestions for dupes of this one? I find it ridiculously expensive for a cleanser, and I'm sure other J or K brands have similar options, so I would love your option :)
I'm recently loving your videos and recommendations. Can I use Illiyoon Ato and Numbuzin Purple Moisturizer for winters, I have normal that leans to dry in winter and sensitive textured skin. Are both moisturizers non comedogenic? Your cosrx moisture power cream is also in my list but I'm bit confused 🤔 Hope you will reply soon. Love from India❤
Have you tried the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermo Cleanser? It's the only cleanser that doesn't strip my face and I was wondering how it compared. I'm not even sure if its available outside of Canada.
I have inflamed damaged scalp, evey shampoo now irrites it, scalp feels ichy, dry, tight, red, do you think would it be bad if I put one of these rich cream cleansers on my scalp after shampooing just for it to sit down and mosturize and calm the skin? I am up to even wash my hair with it if possible, haha
I'd actually suggest you let oil sit on your scalp for a few hours prior to cleansing, something like marula oil or argan would be excellent and inexpensive, it will help soothe and moisturize your ailing scalp and help resist the irritation from cleaning products. You can certainly try using a cream face cleanser but I'd still be concerned about the surfactants and if it would wash out of your hair easily as it's not designed to function that way.
My 😂question is, if you use one of these rich cleansers that have oils and things in them, doesn't that create a barrier so that your serums can't get through it?
No cleansers are formulated with surfactants that allow all of the cleanser to rinse off; it's not like putting straight oil on your skin and then trying to rinse off; they are formulated in specific ways for specific uses!
I know another of people aren't big Inky List fans, but once I tried the Hyaluronic Acid Cleanser by them, I haven't ever looked for another one! Not stripping, very hydrating, mild but very effective cleanser. But, I'm older and poor, too, so a reasonably priced cleanser is where I like to keep my costs of my skincare down. I did try the Laroche Posay cleanser and it's kinda meh😉 Have a beautiful day🌤💗
