I love Buddhist art very much too! Will definitely visit China - gosh, too many must-see places to visit for its rich Buddhist heritage!

Since last month, I believe China does not require a visa for many countries such as France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Malaysia. You can travel to China at a lower cost too!

@@VeryPrivateGalleryIndeed, makes it much easier for me to travel in China. But I think I will need more time to cover the places that I want to visit, including the Buddhist temple in Nanjing, Mogao Grotto in Dunhuang, etc !

I did a commission piece for someone and one of their friends said it looked like a LEROY NEIMAN painting. I did not mind that comment at all . It was a sporting themed painting. A compliment for sure. 👍. This video was very interesting as well as your added interview ❗

Really interesting, Contemporary art with conceptual art may have used the iconoclast process of Western Christianity, an extension of Plato's idealism (The idea (or concept) of something is stronger than itself) and I didn't know about the Hidden Buddha. The curator made a smart connection here :-)

There is also a Tibetan Buddhism called the secret tantra (not sure how it’s called in English). Very few people knew in the world, coz it’s SECRET!

I remembered going to one of the temples when I was 14-15 years old. I saw the paintings on the walls of mating monks. I was told that a monk shall begin his practice at age 8. After finishing 8 years of studies in 3 periods, at age 32 the monk is supposed to mate with a voluntary virgin girl for his ascension. I was in complete shock at that time 😂 I understood the 24 years of study is like a PhD. I couldn’t get why there is always a virgin involved.

I’ve been following you for a while. I’m a Chinese MFA student studying in the US. Thanks so much for your incredible content. It really helps me to know the real art world outside college. Hope I could meet you in person one day. :)

Hi, my names Ray Solis and I am currently a high school student who really enjoys art and wants to start a youtube channel. I've been meaning to for ages but this year there is a real incentive to start as in my final year of high school, we have to do a big project on learning a new skill or completing a challenge. I thought it would be very unique and fun to try and grow a modest art youtube channel.
The thing is, we need a mentor, an expert in that field and my choice of project is very specific. So I am here to ask you if you would be interested at all to share some of your experience and knowledge with me because that would be so helpful. I know this is a big ask and you must be very busy but even if you can just say yes and give me a few pointer here and there, I can tell my teachers that I got a big art youtuber and one my of inspirations to be my mentor and that would elevate my mark so much because it's not exactly easy trying to find a local art youtuber here in NZ.
So yeah, it's completely up to you on whether or not you want to help me out, but it would mean the world to me if you did.
    Cheers, Ray

Hi Ray, thanks for your message. I don’t have a large following on RUclips though. But if you have any questions I can answer them in written form. I suggest making a few videos on the subject of your choice, before committing to a RUclips channel. You might find it quite different than what you’ve expected.
