🇬🇧 I had no idea of Jabulani's early history and it's just wonderful to discover how Adine's mother Lente rescued him while so young and how he formed the welcoming nucleus of HERD. He deserves a fantastic 25th birthday, together with his beautiful adopted family of ellies, carers and us, his admiring, loving, most appreciative followers!!

Adine, your mother sounds like a true visionary and an extremely compassionate, caring woman. Please tell us more about her some time. Loved seeing Jabulani as a tiny elephant. He is really an extraordinary elephant. Hand-raised, didn’t join the herd until age 5 and ended up second in command. I remember him being the first one Khanyisa was introduced to because of the continued interest he showed in bonding with her. On the video where Khanyisa screamed about being alone, he was the second one to respond and stayed there in the gathering of females surrounding her. He’s a confident and compassionate bull and a darn good lion chaser, too.
I love The Herd even more with the back story about Jabulani. Wonderful humans helping these beautiful creatures. Thank you
