Muting on 5 strings is harder than I expected. I can see where the problem is happening on my thumb. The E string is able to ring freely by the way my thumb curls to the joint.
Just try to keep the thumb lying flat on the strings and keep it one string above the one you are playing on. Hope that helps. Thanks for checking out the video. - Russ Rodgers
@@RussellRodgers Here's what I think part of the problem is with muting the E string when looking to pluck the higher G and D strings. Over reaching for the G string. So one more thing that people can try is to keep their thumb joint resting on the E string and people should be able to pluck the G string whilst keeping their joint resting there. This video helped me come to this conclusion, thanks man👍🏻
