    From Wikipedia:
Little Rock is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. state of Arkansas. The city's population was 204,405 in 2022, according to the United States Census Bureau. As the county seat of Pulaski County, the city was incorporated on November 7, 1831, on the south bank of the Arkansas River close to the state's geographic center in Central Arkansas. The city derived its name from a rock formation along the river, named the "Little Rock" by the French explorer Jean-Baptiste Bénard de la Harpe in 1722. The capital of the Arkansas Territory was moved to Little Rock from Arkansas Post in 1821. The six-county Little Rock-North Little Rock-Conway, AR Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) is ranked 81st in terms of population in the United States with 748,031 residents according to the 2020 estimate by the United States Census Bureau.
Little Rock is a cultural, economic, government, and transportation center within Arkansas and the American South. Several cultural institutions are in Little Rock, such as the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, the Arkansas Repertory Theatre, the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, and the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, in addition to hiking, boating, and other outdoor recreational opportunities. Little Rock's history is available through history museums, historic districts or neighborhoods of Little Rock like the Quapaw Quarter, and historic sites such as Little Rock Central High School and West Ninth Street. The city is the headquarters of Dillard's, Windstream Communications, Stephens Inc., University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Heifer International, Winrock International, the Clinton Foundation, and the Rose Law Firm.

Both Des Moines and LR are named after French explorers. The Little Rock historical spot on the river tells it all.

I don't know what I expected but it was definitely nicer and more active than I imagined. Only been to Arkansas through the eastern edge of the state through flat farm land, need to go back to see Arkansas' natural beauty and apparently Little Rock too.

Hit up the Northwest part of the state it’s nicknamed NWA(Northwest Arkansas). Fayetteville, Bentonville, Rogers, Springdale, are all growing making it one of the most fastest regions in the country. Lots of Midwesterners and Californians moving in it’s estimated that area is supposed to gain about a million people in the next decade, on top of that they are looking to build new highways there. Northeast Arkansas is growing as well around the Jonesboro area but at a slower pace, this state has tons of natural beauty definitely an underrated state for sure.

It’s not really that active overall. Traffic can be congested during rush hour but the actual action of the walkable parts of the city is on the dead side like most Midwest and southern cities.

I disagree. I live in Little Rock currently and yeah there’s a shooting/homicide 3-4 times a week. But it’s all within a certain area that eveyone knows not to go to. I have also stayed in Memphis for many months for work and Memphis is where I was scared for my life even when visiting the nicer parts. I think Memphis is the most dangerous pine bluff is up there too. So is Little Rock Im not denying that but no way it’s above Memphis

December 25th, 1947 was the last time the original street car ran on the tracks of Little Rock.
But then 57 years later, the historic streetcars made a comeback.
