Hi everyone. ♥️ Wanted to clarify, the main action point here to address the title of this video, which I never specifically mention in this video: If someone you love has cut you off because of how you voted, I would recommend trying to assure them that you did not vote for Trump to take away any of their rights or because you have any issue with them for who they are . That’s what my video here is trying to help illustrate, but I forgot to mention that very important point. The main thing I would suggest, is telling them that you love them for exactly who they are, and perhaps after assuring them of that, you can show them how perhaps (from your perspective) Trump isn’t as harmful to them (or their “community”) as they may have been led to believe. I have hope that as a society we can see through this! Big things being discussed here. Wish you all the best. Would love to hear any stories of how any of this may have helped anyone. Til next time, Harmony ❤
My daughter is also LGBT. She is also liberal. She stopped talking to me for years because I voted conservative and became Christian. One year I reached out to her and invited her for Thanksgiving and she came. We talked through our differences respectfully. The key is mutual respect and understanding. Sometimes it is sacrifice. It is worth it. I love my daughter immensely. She is my heart and there is nothing better then having her in my life. ❤
Please please keep telling the truth. I particularly NEED you to tell me the truth about things where we disagree. I presume we eventually will disagree and I am desperate for honest voices outside my bubble. WE do not make progress without BOTH OF US. super grateful for your RUclips channel
It’s amazing and refreshing that when MAGA supporters were telling you things you didn’t know, that you actually listened. I find that my kids just put their “talk to the hand” stance up. So happy you listened.
Hey I was the 100th like. As a conservative, I wish you all the success in the world. Politics should never break up families. Families are the only thing we really have in this world. Good luck to you and wish you nothing but happiness.
Harmony, you are such an effective communicator. The snowy back drop is outstanding. The power of your sincerity and desire for good will take you far. We smile with you.
I’m so happy you are stepping into “mission-mode” right now!! 😭😭 You’re awakening to the manipulation that has kept us divided for decades. Keep going…you are a change-maker and you’re shining light where it needs to shine. Keep going!! 💪🏼
I've been married for a little over 20 years, to a liberal. I love that man with all my heart, but if politics ever come up, it can get pretty ugly around here! lol But we still love each other, and both of us know politics isn't a deal breaker. He works out of town, so the whole time I've been watching your channel, he has no idea I am actually excited to be following a liberal. I'll show him your original video that got this ball rolling, then a few more vids when he comes home. It may have been an accidental thing that you became a voice in bridging the divide, but you seem to be perfect for the task. You have a wonderful personality. And I am thankful for the MAGAs who saw your video and spoke kindly to you. I hope your channel grows huge, and more people take the initiative and run with it to reach out to each other. Because none of us wish ill will on each other. But it's up to all of us to realize that, and start working toward common ground.
Couldn’t have said this better, speaking as a Republican who is a first time voter for Trump, who has only ever given to one candidate before and that was Tulsi Gabbard way back in 2020.
Also i love you, as an lgbt woman myself, it's been so refreshing having car sessions with you, when a lot of my lgbt friends pushed me away from wanting these healthy open talks.
I am old enough to remember when we could really agree to disagree. I have always had close family and friends who I disagreed with politically and in other ways, and we could discuss our points of view, and perhaps still disagree, but then still sit down to a friendly dinner. I pray we will be able to reach that simple consensus once again. God bless you and everyone.
My grandparents were devoted voters, my grandmother always voted Dem. and my grandfather always voted Rep. just to cancel each others votes. They were loving, caring companions to the end.
Tday is coming. My sister in law and cousin have cut me out. They called me horrible names, insulted my intelligence. This coming from people i have sacrificed for, shared my home with, and supported financially many times. Wish me luck.
I’m a moderate who voted for Trump. I was typically left leaning for the longest time, that is up until 2020, that’s when the light came on for me. I’ve lost a few people in my life over my political views. I can’t say that it didn’t hurt, but as the old saying goes, “to thine own self be true”. People are going to be who they are, but we still have to be who we are, too. I’m glad to see you making these realizations, and thank you so much for sharing them with us.
@@G_Demolished Yours is the first negative comment I've seen here. You don't have to agree with anyone here but please try, like everyone else here, to avoid insults.
Harmony, your journey of awakening is so filled with kindness and openness that as an elder, it brings joy to my heart. The world is becoming a better place because of enlightened thinkers such as yourself. Thank you.
As Jimmy Dore said, find something you all believe in and can agree on, fight for it together. You'll see with time that you have much more in common than differences :-)
I watch Jimmy, too. A classic liberal or reformed Dem, who believes in 1A and overlaps with conservatives. Harmony should give him a try, he might feature her one day if he knows about her.
@@Individualati I've given up on trying to find any rhyme or reason in that thing. Sometimes it deletes the most innocent of my comments, other times it allows very inflammatory ones 🤷🏻♂️
@@alexmashkin863 Every person and channel gets a rating. I am tagged for hyper censorship. I can't speak much on a similarly tagged channel, or to a similarly tagged person. Btw, comments on Live or Preview chats are much less restricted, and even somewhat less restricted in comments on a channel's Community posts. But overall things are better today. There is a sort of Master Dial to it all.
The media definitely puts in a lot of effort to divide. As you said a decent chunk is by omission, often by clipping things out of context. One thing I noticed with the media doing this is it often involves eliciting an emotional response. If they can trigger fear, trepidation, anger, sympathy, etc... it is much easier to sell what they're pushing. Some of that is financial gain, but it can be ideologically driven as well. That is not to say that all news or reporting from any one outlet is 100% adherant to the above pitfalls, but it's seemed to have ramped up more and more these last few election cycles. It can really burn you out if you're not careful. Edit: typo
Hi Harmony, I just wanted to pop in the comments and say thank you! I first saw your video come up on my instagram feed. I was immediately impressed with your sincerity in asking Trump supporters their point of view after the election. Your kindness and open mindedness really is a breath of fresh air. I’m a 32 year old woman and mother of a toddler. I’ve been a registered republican my whole voting life and I have supported President Trump in all three elections. I voted for him for a multitude of reasons, believing in my heart that I was making the best decision for my family and the country. I have many friend and family members who voted for Kamala. These are people I love and respect, I don’t agree with their politics but I know they made the choice that they felt in their heart with the best for their family and the country. The majority of Americans are good, hardworking and decent human beings. Both sides have the best intentions, but have different ideas of how things should be run. If we were able to talk more to each other, instead of listening to the media and the extreme people on both sides of the isle, we would find we have a lot more in common than we first thought. Thank you for your videos and for being a safe middle ground that people can come together to listen and learn. Where we can maybe all start connecting and understanding instead of being dismissive and divisive. I’m excited for our future and I’m excited to support you and this channel. Keep up the great work, I know big things are in store ❤👏☮️
Hate begins when people stop having conversations and you can't have a conversation if you refuse to listen to people with whom you disagree. Keep being open and honest, and the world becomes a better place. You are appreciated.
So many people who are not 'typical Christian Americans' are Trump followers, but so many people have been convinced that you can't be both (Trump supporter, and non-typical in their life choices). My brother is gay, and I'm a pagan witch ... and we are both Trump-supporters. So glad you are taking this trip, and that you are trying to help others understand.
I'm a Trump supporter and I'm not even anti abortion. I became concerned that it seemed many women use it as a birth control method and it was becoming more acceptable in later term pregnancies. But this is an issue that is never going to please everyone and we need to just decide a limit such as 12 weeks with exceptions and be done with it....move on to other very important issues. Also, these bathroom fanatics are ridiculous ... use the bathroom that aligns with how you present and be done with it. People want to overly complicate everything. Too many Karen's on both sides.
You hit the nail on the head. I know me personally, I’m not looking to turn more people into republicans, I’m looking for people to respect each other more and listen more. I miss the days where classic republicans and classic liberals could come together and make things happen. My best friend that I had since 3rd grade went very, very far left during the whole 2020 debacle. She cut me off in 2022 after I set boundaries with her on not discussing politics with me because I knew if she found out I voted for Trump that she would lose it on me,so I decided to just try to avoid the topic. Instead when she found out, she just stopped talking to me and deleted me on everything the day after my dad passed. She holds so much anger and hate towards me. We were in our mid thirties at the time. I’m 36 now. Some days I still miss her but I know this is for the best. She knows my heart and she knows me through and through. She knows I’m not racist or homophobic. But somehow I got lumped in automatically with the bad guys. But I also know that toxic people exist regardless of who they voted for and I’m better off without her if she can cut me off without even trying to see my side and why I chose to vote how I did
Oh the beautiful snow capped mountains in the background- Gorgeous! I want to move out to Wyoming (i have no idea where you are, but the mountains made me think of my favorite place) someday. Also you just posted this and it popped up on my feed, not used to being this early 😂 I lost a lot of friends and some family (even my mom, though it was more on vaccines than politics specifically) due to that divide, and it's so sweet for you to reach out to those that got otherwise rejected by their support systems. I know I got generally lucky as I have a smaller group of friends that are good people, on both sides of the spectrum, and are open to understanding, so when I lost the 'majority' of the friends I thought I had I was able to bounce back quicker. I was able to pull my dad back to the middle, but i really had to force him into it to understand. but many others aren't ready to listen yet. I always tell everyone that I don't expect people to love Trump, he is definitely different, but you don't have to like him, just understand that we have a reason for rallying behind him. It sounds like you're at least starting to understand where we're coming from! I am a middle of the road liberal person, that also happens to be MAGA, not republican! I agree completely about no more identity politics! Don't overwhelm yourself with trying to force yourself to post videos often if you don't have energy for it, your regular job has to come first too! And the youtube algorithm will force you into posting videos every day or it'll stop showing your videos to people. At least from what i've heard. I wish there was a way to fix youtube/facebook/social media too.
Also, in my state. We had abortion on the voting ballot. There were twenty other states that had it on their ballots. In this ballot, women that are having the abortion and the doctors who are performing the abortion, can’t be sued or imprisoned. This not only passed in my state but all of them. Abortion won. Women hasn’t lost their rights. They have gained better rights. Better than Roe vs Wade. This new abortion law goes into effect in my state on Dec. 5th. I do not know when the oot goes into effect in the other states.
This, what you’re going through, is how many of us ex democrats started. We were mindblown on what the media DELIBERATELY did to us and STILL DO to divide us😢. Trump always said fake news, Crooked Hillary.. that sparked my interest like WHY is he saying this?? I believed the media and the Clintons🤦🏻♀️. That was the beginning of the end for me. I feel many people are going to leave the party to independent or republican.
I am a republican. To me and others like me don’t mind who you are voting for. We just wanted to know why you are voting for Harris. Because when we watched Harris be interviewed. It seemed to us that she hasn’t answered one question. Now I’m not asking for a fight. I’m just looking for answers.
I think the hardest part of the election for me was to see politicians I supported in a totally different light. I voted for all Clinton's and Obama. Still kinda like Bill lol But was disappointed that they were caught in a lot of lies. I also didn't like what they did to their own party. Says something that Elon, Tulsi, and RFK all identified as democrats 4 years ago. The parties are shifting for sure.
Another great video. I am thankful that you got that "crack" in your brain. I think over the next year especially once Trump is in office and proves to the doubters he is not what they believe he is, it will be a beautiful flow to connection. I think you are right about there being the most respect there has ever been among citizens. It has been so helpful to hear your pov....I can't e even begin to tell you.
I hope we can all come together too. I have a friend who is a lesbian who broke down on me. We both love each other and have known each other for several years. She got into the conversation one day with me about the election after Trump won and just started crying because she is struggling to come to terms with the fact someone she loves could vote for someone to "take her rights away". I tried to let her know I have no desire to take her rights away and kind of gently let her know that things are going to be just fine. Still I feel a divide between us and it genuinely makes me sad.
Yo escribí en otro lado que T acaba de meter en su gabinete a Scott Bessent, un hombre gay que es casado con un hombre. Quizás con saber eso, poco a poco, tu amiga se dará cuenta que lo que le han dicho de T no es cierto.
As the saying goes.. “We’re Stronger Together.. and Divided We Fall.” My family is split down the middle with politics. During gatherings, we literally have a sign on the front door that says “No Politics Zone” because we’ve had a couple holiday parties get really heated because of it. I have hope in the future that most will realize we all just want the best for ourselves and for those we love. I think the name-calling (on both sides) is what tends to leave a sour note in people’s heart about each other.. so maybe a little less of that can go a long way. Anyways, great videos. 🦅🤙🏼
As a Catholic myself, I've really been enjoying your videos. Just subscribed! By the way, as others may have already recommended, you may want to consider checking out the following RUclipsrs, who are also gay, all former Democrats too, Dave Rubin (married), Amir Odom, Brandon Straka, and Blair White (trans). There was one other RUclipsr I was trying to think of but I cannot remember her name now!! My brain sucks!
I have to say I'm surprised to see Harmony denouncing identity politics. Arguably, people with non-traditional lifestyles have the most to gain from it, yet, they understand if most of us lose, it's everyone's loss. * thumbs up*
Thank you for having conversations. Understanding is happening across the board because of your videos. That crack you speak of is true liberation. Re-birth. Happy Birthday! ❣
My mother disowned me over this election and she is my only living parent. It has been extremely hard on my heart and my self worth tbh. I'm 31, and i feel like a lost child.
Hope you are able to reconnect in the future. Some people take longer to wake up than others. Keep yourself healthy and have faith that God can heal all relationships with time and patience. Bless you ❤
Im sorry you are going through this. I know how that feels. Give it some time and revisit it in the future. Stay true to yourself in all of this. By doing that, you will find some solace in this time. Maybe forward her this video? Or another of your choosing. I wish you luck, and I pray that you and your mom find healing. ❤
I appreciate you more than you will ever know. A voice of reason is so welcome right now. Identity politics has become a cancer on our society. Horrific things have been done in the past, but on the swing to correct those sins, the pendulum swung WAY too far to the left and lingered too long. I never hated anyone or indulged in the identity craze, I was always just me. A couple of decades ago, however, I found myself suddenly a target of hate and ridicule. In a society that was all about acceptance and tolerance, how was I now the great evil? Christian, male, conservative, hetero (please, don't call us 'cis', that's not even a word 😒), and worst of all, pale skin from Scottish ancestors. I was everything society could attack with no repercussions. It was open season on people like me, even though I had done nothing to deserve the hate that was so popular in Hollywood, on TV, even the commercials, and in politics. I feel for the first time in many years, the pendulum is starting to correct. Still using the pendulum analogy, a correction long delayed usually results in an over-correction. Just as I don't want to live in a socialist tyranny, neither do I want to live in some right wing religious dictatorship. Voices like yours will help to get us to a reasonable middle ground where all can be free and comfortable. Both extremes are unacceptable and always end up swinging violently the other way. Together we can stop the wild swings and reach a balance. Thanks for what you do!
I feel like being able to listen to you is therapy for some of us because when some doors are closed your’s is open... I guess it’s hope that maybe one day I won’t be viewed as the enemy by someone I’d happy give my life to save or protect. I just appreciate your openness to other peoples ideas while retaining your individuality. the first flower that comes up in spring, it represents hope and so do you!
You have a warm, contagious smile. My day has been shit, so thank you. Lol. Still enjoying your content. You're falling down the rabbit hole and it's been my experience, 100% of the time, everyone lands on the same bottom. Keep doing you!
I am a former default liberal/Democrat who voted for Obama in 08'. I changed in 2019/2020 because of similar revelations you experienced. I haven't lost a liberal friend yet because I'm still kind of undercover. And I'm in a deep blue state. So, I can't relate, but I see the craziness out in the open from my friends on social media losing their minds. I just choose not to engage online and never really have opportunities to do so in person neither. I am lucky that my wife and I both had the revelation together. She's my safe harbor. I hope you find it too.
I don't know if anybody else has pointed out some excellent channels that may address any questions you have involving MAGA and what the bulk think about lgbtq plus .... Anything with Buck Angel and Blaire White... or better yet interviews they've done together :)
13:49 ohh honey ( don't be offended that's a term of endearment for me ) God weather you believe in him or not always puts people where they need to be when they need to be there. Even if they aren't a believer.
Any person on the other side of the aisle who's willing to talk and have a conversation about the future of the country in a civil manner will have my ears. Personally, I've found it's the liberals who have a hard time reconnecting with the rest of the country. I just want to get back to Civil discussion and disagreement. Enough of the Ad-Hominem, we're all americans let's find a way forward for the betterment of our country.
I feel you and respect your journey. I haven't had much success talking with liberal friends & family if mine unfortunately. I kept hearing the Cranberries song Zombie in my head while you were talking, "What's in your head, zombie..." I appreciate you Harmony.
I know our daughter and her husband voted Trump. I'm not sure of my 2 sons and their wives. It's none of my, or my wife's business. But, we remain a loving family with no issues. I have been consistently treated poorly by Democrats in the neighborhood, even when I kept my negativity to Obama to myself. The intolerance from those people is forgivable, but they have had no inclination to apologize. I don't hate them, but why should I expose myself to that kind of abuse. I'm 72. I've had enough of that sort of thing.
I appreciate your input and largely agree. most Americans do what what they think is best for the country, and for the people, they just don't agree on what that might be or on how to solve our biggest problems. I think we all need to be open-minded, listen to each other, and not automatically assume the worst intentions of each other. Just because someone is openly trans or gay doesn't mean they are looking to corrupt the youth; just because someone is against illegal immigration doesn't mean they hate all immigrants or minorities; just because someone doesn't want the government to be in charge of health care doesn't mean they want people to get sick & die. Trump has pretty much gained ground with just about all demographics, and I think it's because politicians and media personalities can only cry wolf for so long before a lot of people get tired of hearing it. A lot of people were around for 2016 - 2020 and felt it was better than 2020 - present. I'm sure in a year or two, IF Trump & his team manage to start fixing things (here's hoping), then maybe when we're pulled back from the brink of WWIII, taxes and gas and unemployment qre down, homeownership is more accessible, healthcare & the FDA & education and government waste are getting sorted out-- that's going to be the crack for a lot of those anti-Trump people. The hyperbole about Hitler & Nazis is going to fade and people are just going move on and realize it was much ado about nothing.
I'd just ask them to keep an open mind, and asked them if they believed the doom that was supposed to happen in his first term. But my greater hope is that when people cool down, most of those family ties will be reforged.
You touched on something key in this video: Respect. More important than acceptance, tolerance, or being open-minded. At the end of the day, we’re going to disagree on something. We’re not going to accept everything about everybody 100%. Tolerance can only get us so far. But if we respect others, we’re going to treat them with common human decency regardless. We’re going to be able to disagree without personally attacking the dignity of another fellow human being. We’re going to keep the dialogue open and keep talking. When people can’t respect each other the lines of of communication dry up and after silence comes misunderstanding, and then fear. Fear breeds hatred. Hatred turns into violence. That is where we were heading, and that’s a very scary place I don’t think any of us really wanted to go. Let’s keep respect and open lines of communication going!
Thank you for this video. I have a lot of anxiety around Thanksgiving this year, as it will be the first time seeing my extended family since the election. I tried to share the perspective you put forth in this vid prior to the election, but their minds were already made. It was frustrating, but I still love them and hope they are reasonable and civil this holiday season. Families should not be divided by politics! God bless you ❤
I have a cousin that I like very much. He has a different political view than me even though I'm not political. I pick the candidate that most closely matches what I want to vote for. We have so many things to talk about but he ends up asking me a political question...and then he doesn't like my answer. Now he won't even return my texts or phone calls. Damn.
The important thing on both sides is, not being with someone on everything is not the same as being against them. And I think you're in that same boat too, now. As you said, respect is the key.
Keeping us divided is in their benefit. It makes it easier to lie and manipulate. Frankly, both sides have faults and each their own questionable figures. No one is ever perfect. I don't identify as a republican or democrat. I'm pro freedom, pro free speech, pro America, a patriot, america first..BIG fan of the constitution. I will vote for anyone who has those stances and revote for those who act on them. I may have some strong beliefs around kids and women.. but that comes from my role as a father. A place of protection and love, not hate. Hate very, very few.
Hey Harmony, I've seen a couple of your videos already. Let me just say this, I'm very surprised with your transformation (which it is). It gives you credit as someone who is a true skeptic, and I support you for that! Just a word of caution from someone who through a process of change, got caught in a slippery slope, and ended up on the other extreme; be careful... You are starting to realize that not everything you were lead to believe is true. Be careful that this doesn't turn into belief that whatever the other side has to say is also true. Do NOT give your trust to ANYONE that seeks to change your mind or opinion, always take your due diligence and do your research. This goes for any topic. Do not seek sources that comfort you or confirm your biases; this is difficult but it is doable. Of course it's impossible do verify every single piece of information you come across, so use your judgement on things that you deem important. I wish you the best!
I would like to offer a little advice that might help out. This is what I do in my life so it is just my opinion not me telling you how to live your life. 1. Read past the headlines. If a headline grabs your attention then read the story and take notes. 2. From your notes do further checking to make sure you are not being lied to. For me I use a completely different source(s) then the company of the story I read.@12:23 you showed on screen "With further research" which made me smile. It shows you are willing to put in the work. I learned early on the more you divide people the easier it is to control them. Thanks for sharing your journey and I am cheering on your success from here. Looking forward to your next video and I will see you then.
myself i will remain a registered democrat until Lt Col Tulsi Gabbard run in a Republican primary, if i were you i would look into her in a deep dive , and you personally would likely want to start with her participation as a child with her fathers "pray the gay away " camp , and how her views drastically changed once she got out on her own as an adult , and go from there .
I live in Oregon, and while I am a Republican, the new largest political party is Undeclared. I was shocked. A lot of people don’t wanna be affiliated with either party anymore. I totally understand. Most politicians you meet you want to take a shower and scrub your hands with Lava soap and bleach when you’re done meeting with them. I’ve always wanted to plant a Bluetooth microphone in their pocket so we could record what they say about us after they’re out of our sight. I really don’t trust either party any farther than I can throw them. But I trust most religious leaders even less. And I hate it when I see a politician in a church asking for money and votes. And both sides do it. Religion has no business in politics and politics has absolutely no business in religion. Our founding fathers thought it was so important that it was in the beginning of our Bill of Rights. But it’s not man’s right to judge either, God gets to do that. Everybody should quit being “Karens”. Live and let live. Adults get to make their own choices and let kids be kids.Let parents be parents. Everyone mind their own business. And humans have no business trying to interpret something from a deity, that nobody can see. if that’s your interpretation great you live by those rules, but don’t force them on anybody else. If you really wanna feel close to God, go out and sit by a river and go try to catch a steelhead.
Until around the 2000s,Americans were still good with "agreeing to disagree." In the 80s, Ronald Reagan and House Speaker Tip O'Neal would battle furiously politically during the day, and then have dinner and drinks together "after work."
Being a “trumper” is kind of like being gay in the 90’s. Once u say it out loud everybody stops being friends with you. The trump movement is the modern day hippy movement . I’m proud to be a part of it. It takes bravery and a rebellious spirit. It takes an open mind. If people tell me they don’t agree, I want to have a conversation with them. but if I tell them I don’t agree, they never want to talk to me again. I mean, doesn’t that say it all right there?!
You have wisdom beyond your years. By the way, I don't know if you can get it, but I believe you would find the cable news network NewsNation somewhat refreshing. They are pretty good at showing different sides of a topic. It's where Chris Cuomo landed. He was unsufferable on CNN, a station I actually left long ago. The day Cuomo left CNN is the day he became a journalist again. Media ratings put the station as slightly left, but I would put it at slightly right.
Trump did a lot for people throughout his life. He’s helped families, children with cancer, women that has been abused in some ways. I’ve been thinking about writing a book about all the good he has done. Because he has done more than anyone could imagine. I would like to share all what he has done if anyone is willing to listen
if you put Trump into context and remember that hes basically some crusty NY capitalist business man then you can understand why he speaks the way he does lol, but on that same note you can see that he loves his country and supporting the little guy and the everyday american which includes everyone. hes weird and maybe politics still is just all a show but i see more authenticity in him and mainly in his supporters than in any of the other Dem or Rep candidates or politicians.
I think a big problem is having a party affiliation (in general creates a us them mentality). Easy to get into group think that way. I honestly think you have just scratched the surface and your journey has just started. (I mean that in a non condescending positive way, I apologize if it comes off otherwise) I appreciate your thought process with new information. What did you think about Kamala changing her accent to extremes at rally's depending on the population she was talking to. I think she lost a lot of votes with that. I grew up on the east coast and if a politician had a rally and faked a thick jersey or Boston accent I would not trust them and would find it insincere. I worry that a main stream media channel encouraged people to isolate from their family on the holidays based on political affiliation. The holidays can be a hard time for people. I also imagine it must be hard for people who only saw a skewed picture due to trusting the main stream media. I think everyone loses when rhetoric becomes headlines. I'd like to say this is something new, but I can't say it is. I feel like I've come out of the matrix this election season.
Harris did the same thing Clinton did with the various accents. All I could do was shake my head and say "are you for real"? The audience should have called her out--literally.
@ True, Clinton did it too. I think the worst was the church preacher imitation/accent. The unimundi (sp) may have topped them all. Hard to choose so many lol
Yeah, changing accents is an unforgivable sin. Sexual assaults are fine. Denying election results is ok. Changing accents....that's a crime against humanity.
Thank you for making this video. My sister is a liberal and has started viewing me differently, and I am a moderate! It has been very hard. Her issue seems to come from fundamentalist Christianity. The loudest voices are usually the ones we listen to, unfortunately. So the fundamentalist Christians from the 80s with their Satanic Panic and their strict interpretations and overreactions have led many people, understandably, to reject Christianity. I spent the early 2000s examining Christianity from a new light just as you talked about seeing conservatism in a new light. I was shocked to discover that the heart of Christianity in its first few hundred years of existence was about love, service, and sacrifice. This is what Jesus told his followers to do, and that kind of unconditional, sacrificial love has the power to heal the world. Unfortunately, like humans always do, we lost sight of that and got caught up in rules and tribalism. In the 80s, conservatives were against things and liberals were trying to be more open. It has literally swapped now. Conservatives are being more open and liberals are focused on what they are against. I believe that some people are realizing that love is the answer, and they shifted their values and their goals. I also believe that we can continue to bridge the gap and achieve better unity. The key is love. "He who does not love does not know God. For God is love." 1 John 4:8 I have started watching a lot of your videos, and I am deeply touched by your sincerity and honesty. Thank you for being brave and sharing your questions and journey :)
I'm a gay man and my mom is super pro-lgbt now. When she found out I might support Trump she was super upset. But luckily we've moved on and she actually listens to me now. She doesn't like him, but she didn't vote for Kamala either.
The thing that both sides seem to have forgotten is that we need one another. Left and Right both need the other side to speak alternative ideas. Point out flaws in logic. For example. The Right is all about meritocracy…but the Right can be harsh and has the ability to discount the suffering of others if it doesn’t fit in with meritocratic ideas. It’s up to the Left to step forward and say “That person needs some help.” By the same token the Left often seems to want to see the best in people. They want to get along and connect with others as human beings. So sometimes the Right has to step forward and bring a fight to someone who endangers our people and society. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that human services employees tend to be left leaning while police and soldiers tend to be right leaning. Both sides want to help others but they have a different way of expressing that. Keep spreading good vibes, Harmony. Have a great day.
Yessss once you start to see these things you’ll never unsee them again. Watch the RUclips video with Kamala and Brett Cavanuagh. I’m sure I’m misspelling his last name. Anyway you can start to see the games they play in the Senate too. Watch her face for her “tells” when she realizes that he’s caught on to her trap question.
Harmony, I can’t listen to all your video now due so am only able to read the transcript but will def go back to it later. I truly want to hear more of your story. Why? Because i genuinely love most people - smokers are hard for me, I admit! Oy. Anyway, I feel it’s from the Love of God but I also am able to put myself in other people’s shoes and imagine what it’s like for them. I care about you, truly, and even reading your words, tears well up as you give me hope in a way. My liberal gay married niece overseas far away (goes by “they/them”too), has seemingly cut me off when asking what I thought of the elections in America (as I’m pretty quiet to discuss such things). Since I didn’t say I was mad as h@ll and disgusted, she could perhaps gather my views as she knows I’m pretty conservative. However, we’ve been very close and particularly after her mother (my sis) died of cancer suddenly all of a sudden. It’s been hard but now there is this void and it saddens me so much. Maybe others like you or through your voice might reconsider if cutting off fam is really worth it? I don’t know but I do know that your story and your personality is I feel crucial right now. Thank you for your bravery. I can’t tell you how much I’m encouraged by your words, and def moved. All the best to you!
A good start would be to stop misgendering them. But, this in itself is a huge adjustment! They need to have grace as you learn to navigate something new, and they need to give you time to do so. They probably also have to help you to understand it all by explaining it to you a few times! I know it is confusing at first and hard to get used to. I can see the disconnect in society today and the way I see it it’s mostly nothing more than misunderstanding. They probably feel that your vote was a vote against them… if there’s a way you can explain to them from your heart that voting against them wasn’t why you voted for Trump and that you love and accept them no matter what… maybe, just maybe, they can find a way to see through this and you all can make it through to the other side. I think it would be most important to illustrate that to them. Just know that there were a lot of forces on both sides this election that made it seem that Trump was very very bad for the lgbtq community , even though that doesn’t even appear to be the case. So it has been a very hard thing to process for a lot of folks. And your sisters child probably feels that you voted in a way that was harmful to who they are as a person, even though that clearly wasn’t the case. I hope you all are able to reconnect. It may be a process. But with enough love, it may be possible. All the best
Trump has said that when people start experiencing life improving then people will come back together. I think this is true. Try not to fall out with people and the walls will dissolve over time.
I actually had my mom and sister yelling at me yesterday because I voted for trump . I am not even a republican just American they got so mad that they kicked my 3 young kids out of the house because I stepped outside to let them cool off . What set them off was i said stop being so angry at people you love or cared about in your life this ia not as important as family.
Controversial artist but there is a song I think sums up what is going on. Welcome To The System by Tom MacDonald. (people don't have to agree with all of his songs but this one is powerful.) Situational devide.
i wish my democrat coworkers were more like you, they are talking and acting like the way you described how some close-minded Dems are acting after the election, thankfully its less than half of my coworkers that are acting like that. mostly it makes me sad that their mind is stuck in that space and they think its the end of the world and its gonna be Handmaids Tale or something. im trying so hard to not say too much or reveal myself too much. i dont care what ppl believe so much, but that kind of mind set (on either side) is what scares me about interacting with ppl around me, i feel like as a trump-voter i cannot speak my mind or be myself as much as my democrat coworkers can, its crazy to think that some of the democrats think they are so oppressed yet there are so many trump-voters that are afraid to reveal anything or say anythin to ppl around them for fear of reactions or fear of getting into toxic vibes in the air. its nuts man. i just try to keep things positive around ppl with that mindset around me but then i wonder if they r suspicious of why im so chill and happy during this time lol its like some crazy 1984 mental nightmare suspicion vibes goin on sometimes
Hi everyone. ♥️
Wanted to clarify, the main action point here to address the title of this video, which I never specifically mention in this video:
If someone you love has cut you off because of how you voted, I would recommend trying to assure them that you did not vote for Trump to take away any of their rights or because you have any issue with them for who they are . Til next time,
Harmony ❤
My daughter is also LGBT. She is also liberal. She stopped talking to me for years because I voted conservative and became Christian. One year I reached out to her and invited her for Thanksgiving and she came. We talked through our differences respectfully. The key is mutual respect and understanding. Sometimes it is sacrifice. It is worth it. I love my daughter immensely. She is my heart and there is nothing better then having her in my life. ❤

Precisely what I said in 2018. It was such a "revelation" moment for me... More so than anything else in my life.

@@10speed4 We have never talked about it.
Couldn’t have said this better, speaking as a Republican who is a first time voter for Trump, who has only ever given to one candidate before and that was Tulsi Gabbard way back in 2020.
I’ve noticed in my life that it’s the left leaning members of my family that will cut people off. It never seems to come from the other direction.
Also i love you, as an lgbt woman myself, it's been so refreshing having car sessions with you, when a lot of my lgbt friends pushed me away from wanting these healthy open talks.
So glad you are free of the burden of judging, holding grudges and blind tribalism.
The good ole days. I'm fortunate to have friends who if you have different beliefs we can have conversations without losing friendships.
My grandparents were devoted voters, my grandmother always voted Dem. and my grandfather always voted Rep. just to cancel each others votes. They were loving, caring companions to the end.

Have you looked into Brandon Straka with the Walkaway campaign? You might find some of the testimonies resonate.

You're right, we're not as divided as they want us to believe. That's where they derive their power over us. Again, great hair!

I think a lot of people are still scared to say how they feel especially in the spiritual and tarot communities on RUclips.
Buddhist Trump supporter here. MAGA is a true unity movement, with actual diversity and tolerance. ❤☸️📿🙏
@@MissMoonlight-bh7oq "are still scared"
That's an interesting insight.
@@LynnS-gd8wq Too many people are about the power ... they want to force others.
But I also know that toxic people exist regardless of who they voted for and I’m better off without her if she can cut me off without even trying to see my side and why I chose to vote how I did
Seems like you're still in a "mind boggle" over revelations, Harmony.
I'm calling it, group hug!!!

Oh the beautiful snow capped mountains in the background- Gorgeous! I want to move out to Wyoming (i have no idea where you are, but the mountains made me think of my favorite place) someday. Also you just posted this and it popped up on my feed, not used to being this early 😂
I lost a lot of friends and some family (even my mom, though it was more on vaccines than politics specifically) due to that divide, and it's so sweet for you to reach out to those that got otherwise rejected by their support systems.

I’m from Wyoming! I think Harmony is in Alaska.
What upsets me is how fast democrats turn on democrats when they switch parties

Any person on the other side of the aisle who's willing to talk and have a conversation about the future of the country in a civil manner
will have my ears.
Its free-ing to feel the future is bright and exciting. I am picking that up from you. I believe it.
Damn.
Trying to walk thru life being willing to be proven wrong even if it makes me uncomfortable is my superpower.
Always be who you are. Keep up the good work. 😊

I cannot reconnect because, I dared to question, the push of biological men in women's bathroom or locker room.
Or males in woman sports.
She already switched parties
Keep digging! I respect what you’re doing. Keep it in good faith like you’re doing.
Hey harmony please react to shane gills impersnastion of trump thate would be hilarious
For God is love." 1 John 4:8
I have started watching a lot of your videos, and I am deeply touched by your sincerity and honesty. Thank you for being brave and sharing your questions and journey :)
How to reconnect with a liberal: watch The Jimmy Dore Show.
I'm a gay man and my mom is super pro-lgbt now. When she found out I might support Trump she was super upset. But luckily we've moved on and she actually listens to me now. She doesn't like him, but she didn't vote for Kamala either.
I'm sure you are part of the answers. I'm here for your journey.
Be the bridge Harmony ♥️
It's been awesome to see your growth in all this politics crap, it's been amazing:) keep up the great work!
Great video. Also, FU, your hair looks great!
It’s up to the Left to step forward and say “That person needs some help.”
By the same token the Left often seems to want to see the best in people.
I'm convinced most people dont know how to research. Let alone have the time or inclination.
So glad that this content has been helpful for you! That means the world to me! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
You’re amazing!
Happy Saturday
Trump used to be a democrat that’s why. Lolol. Running as a Republican when the tide changed with the censorship and stuff. He lived in NYC.
Welcome to the fight.
Trump has said that when people start experiencing life improving then people will come back together. I think this is true. Try not to fall out with people and the walls will dissolve over time.
Religious zealots are extremely annoying, from both sides :-))
I actually had my mom and sister yelling at me yesterday because I voted for trump . I am not even a republican just American they got so mad that they kicked my 3 young kids out of the house because I stepped outside to let them cool off . What set them off was i said stop being so angry at people you love or cared about in your life this ia not as important as family.
Controversial artist but there is a song I think sums up what is going on. Welcome To The System by Tom MacDonald. (people don't have to agree with all of his songs but this one is powerful.) Situational devide.
You are deeply loved ❤️🔥
i wish my democrat coworkers were more like you, they are talking and acting like the way you described how some close-minded Dems are acting after the election, thankfully its less than half of my coworkers that are acting like that. mostly it makes me sad that their mind is stuck in that space and they think its the end of the world and its gonna be Handmaids Tale or something. im trying so hard to not say too much or reveal myself too much. i dont care what ppl believe so much, but that kind of mind set (on either side) is what scares me about interacting with ppl around me, i feel like as a trump-voter i cannot speak my mind or be myself as much as my democrat coworkers can, its crazy to think that some of the democrats think they are so oppressed yet there are so many trump-voters that are afraid to reveal anything or say anythin to ppl around them for fear of reactions or fear of getting into toxic vibes in the air. its nuts man. i just try to keep things positive around ppl with that mindset around me but then i wonder if they r suspicious of why im so chill and happy during this time lol its like some crazy 1984 mental nightmare suspicion vibes goin on sometimes
MAGA is in the building! 🇺🇸
Glad you came up with “they” are trying to divide us by your own thinking. Most americans do support each other but powerful people want us divided.
