I showed my mom this movie a few weeks ago. She’d never seen it or heard about it. And the way I described it was “the perfect action film” because it’s got no fat on it. You know right away what the protagonist is feeling. And then by the 15 minute mark, we are so invested and with him that we are totally behind anything and everything he’s going to do next. She was shocked and hated the dog dying. But she understood at that point, that no matter what he does to those people, it’s totally justified. After that, she binge watched the other 2 movies that day. She absolutely LOVES these movies now.

the general rule of thumb is if you dont bother John, he won't bother you. if you dont hurt John, he won't hurt you. He let Francis go because Francis legit never did anything against him. Viggo made the mistake of not telling his son about John, thinking arrogantly that he'd never have to. lots of lessons get learned in this franchise!

Towards the end of this movie when he guides Vigo's blade into his own body , he guides the knife to the spot where he was already wounded. So he already knew it was a relatively safe place to take the blade and not worry too much about damaging vital organs. So basically just a flesh wound. That's what allowed him to break vigos arm. And the reason he just walks away leaving Vigo sitting there with a blade in his shoulder. Is that is a death wound. In between your collarbone and the back side of your shoulder rib cage area if you come down from the top like he did it's a straight shot down just a few inches and you're in one of the major blood pathways. Aorta's. The moment the blade is removed he's dead within seconds.

@@NerdyWatchTV no worries 😉 just thought you might find it interesting to know that there is a major blood vessel just a couple inches below your collarbone. Most people know of the major arteries in the neck but that is why occasionally you'll see in movies somebody get stabbed right through there and die. It's a not too commonly known area to be wounded.

In the bonus features for#1, it’s mentioned that even though the character John Wick is frightening and could be considered evil, the actor, Keanu Reeves, is not seen that way. You actually have empathy for him-never disgust. Not many actors evoke that

If you noticed, they were speaking in code. Dinner reservation for 12, was how many bodies needed to be cleaned up. When John asked Francis how much weight he lost and Francis replied over 60 kg, which actually meant how many guards were inside. The concierge asked John if he needed to make a dinner reservation when he was dealing with Perkins. Just some fun little facts.

Great reaction. Welcome to the dark side. Perhaps the violence doesn't bother you because it isn't really the point of the story. The story is about a man seeking redemption but no matter how hard he tries everyone insists on pulling him back into the life he led before. I do strongly recommend that you watch number two and number three. I haven't seen the fourth movie yet so I can't speak to it, but the first three movies are very much like chapters in a book.
