    Fantastic motorcycle. I agree, it doesn’t need a restore, sometimes good enough is enough. Shame about the side cover, I felt your pain seeing the scratches.

      Is agree. Side cover has a story now. Thanks for watching.

    I've been a massive Kawasaki fan since the late 70s. I saw my first W1 this year. I think all the non standard bits tell the story of the bike. I prefer it for its history

    This bike screams old style BSA 🙂 Apart from the BSA compulsory oil tray for the leaks from the crankcases

    • @motorcyclerewind
      @motorcyclerewind  Год назад +1

      I agree. Kawasaki figured out how to keep the oil on the inside.

    The bike is running with one of its two cylinders misfiring. It seems it has a problem in igniting timing or voltage.

    • @motorcyclerewind
      @motorcyclerewind  Год назад +1

      You are so right it was having a bad day. Problems everywhere from sitting up. Ignition, fuel and side covers falling off. Thanks for watching.

    Put a single carb on and make it run good

  • @kdsowen2882
    @kdsowen2882 Год назад +1

    Some of those cheap-carbs work really-well , old fuel etc can muck-up any carb plus it could be a coil, plug/lead etc . Cool bike , there's one for sale near me for 5.5K USD , all-original apart from mufflers Dave nz

    Another great video👍,I know this bike has sentimental value ...but I'd still put 2 mikuni carbs😉...and that alfa in the background looks fantastic 👌

      Mikuni carbs would be the right move. The Alfa is Keri’s and it has been a great car. Loads of fun to drive. Thanks for watching.

      Whats the difference between a w1 and w1s? This one is a bit of a franken-bike. Thanks for watching

    Stock exhaust

    • @motorcyclerewind

      Know it’s not stock. Actually think this one was homemade. Thanks for watching.

    • @ccrider00
      @ccrider00 Год назад

      No you're wrong, that's exactly what the stock exhaust looks like, I had a
      68 w-1, " bigger+quieter. "
      Than what you have, and I had the more sportier 2 carb w-2
      67. They did away with the origional w-2 ( 66 model with bigger mufflers, bigger fenders, Dufus styled seat, ect. but geared higher < 1 tooth only > for the highway!
      after 66 they did away with the Dufus styled origional
      and put w-2 styling on all w series 650's

    It's an A10 look alike.

  • @Ian-bq7gp
    @Ian-bq7gp Год назад +2

    Ive had BSA A7 rigid and A10. The. Main problem was the timing side bush, clutch and bra es but the frame, handling, chrome and paint was great as was magneto ignition. And the dynamo. The lights and light switch in the headlamp were trouble. The kawasaki w1 is a great jap twin. The Royal Enfield interceptor mk 2 was a great bike and far better design and build than triumph and norton twin engines
