They are musky in the south Holston also walleye. Love fishing South Holston river. I don’t have a boat or kayak but wading a bank fishing is great . Like how you boys are local.
Thanks for sharing! Where do you launch your kayak from to get to Phipps Island. Do you think you can get a jet boat to that spot? Not sure it's true, but I've heard you'll get more bites if you tear the pinchers off your crawdads. That might make a fun test.
Using a container like that with some holes cut/drilled in the bottom will help speed up the crawfish catching, water drains out immediately and it makes it less likely the crawfish gets out while sweeping them in the container.
@@TackleJox thanks ,I’m going to buy my first bait caster and going to fish the holsten up in strawberry plains I do pretty good using swim baits and hellgramites, going to mix it up with some jigs..

@@TackleJox Awesome video by the way, great catches and info.
@@smyersfishingadventures Thanks my man!
You might have already mentioned it but what kind of line do you use on your set up? Great video for people like me learning how to fish jigs..
I actually didn’t mention that. I use 14-20 lb mono for my jig setups. And for live crawdad: 10-14 lb mono

I have yet to see any hellgrammites when picking up rocks like in this video, so it might be good to try a jig out some
Love the content man. Do you ever come down and fish the creek and river systems around Knoxville?
I have before but it’s been years. I caught my first river largie out of the Hiwassee River
@@TackleJox That’s awesome man! Keep throwing that jig and good luck to you
