Everyone knows that Q's lunch is the best gadget of the series
Mephal Motn don’t touch that! That’s his lunch
The hot air from Q in the hot air balloon was the best gadget.
I had those trading cards I still have my limited edition James bond card and limited edition Blofeld card (:
Can’t help but feel the invisible Aston Martin in Die Another Day would have a disguise factor of 100%
It would lose disguise points due to careless snowmobile drivers.
I disagree. Some other vehicle, perhaps
I always assumed Lazar made Scaramanga's gun as we are shown he makes weapons to a customer's specific requirements early in the film.
Your videos have become more anticipated than the Bond films! Thanks again for your hard work for the entire community, I think I speak for all of us when I say you have helped us throughout quarantine. Calvin Dyson will return... in LIVESTREAM.
A comment from Karl Stromberg himself! I am honoured :D THANK YOU very much for the very kind and supportive words!
Calvin Dyson I do have to say, I wouldn’t class my Liparus as a vehicle either. I’m not surprised Liparus is one of the best cards, only the best mechanics at Stromberg Shipping manafactured it.
5:37 I assume the jetpack damaged the look of Bond's DB5 since when Bond landed the sand kicked in and went onto the car. I mean look at it at the end of that scene, it just made the car dirty. And that's a big sin.
Just thought, we've never seen an adversaries' 'Q-branch'; nearest was Spectre island in FRWL
Tomorrow Never Dies is probably in my top 5 favorite Bond movies. Glad to see someone shares my passion.
I had these cards as a kid and I always had this conundrum in my head. Who would come out on top in a fight between Oddjob and Jaws, if they used their primary weapons?
Well, the exploding milk bottles are pretty accurate with their damage rating. Necros wiped out probably half of the MI6 manor staff with these things.
Size rating:
Bird 1 (A rocket large enough to eat a space ship) - 79%
Double-Decker Bus - 84%
...Seems legit.
Just found your channel a few days back. Really enjoying going through your reviews. Subscribed right away. :)
How is a space station that secret? Didnt anyone notice it being built, or....Look up with a telescope?
It took Q until 2002 to develop such invisible technology. Drax was ahead of his time!
I’ve never seen a guy with better hair
If this is the kind of comment going 3 months without a hair cut gets me I might well keep it up 😁😁
Calvin Dyson I saw videos of your short hair too from last year and honestly you are handsome in any style lol
@@calvindyson You're adorable with any hair, but I'm really enjoying the slow fringe growing in :3
Wow the people making these cards really started getting slap-dash after allies and villains. I think gadgets, vehicles and locations need an "iconic" rating. I feel like they could have made a better game out of Bond cards by doing something akin to Magic The Gathering, where locations are the mana, gadgets and vehicles are spells, and allies and villains are creatures.
Always happy to see a Dyson, Calvin Dyson video
It does look like a file case... Some great ideas just popped up in my mind
Omg, I just got a random flashback of the James Bond magazines. Quick google search and I've come across your videos, thank you for this 😊 now I need to search the attic for my collection!
I really don't understand how MI6 HQ can be given a secrecy factor of 53% when it's a really rather conspicuous building clearly visible from Vauxhall bridge aha
For some reason this brought me back to also playing to the metal chain on my baggy jeans. Always did enjoy comparing the ppk p99 and golden gun.
5:43 with the heat that thing likely makes, I think the DB5 would disagree.
A forty-five minute Calvin vid? Uhm, yes?
Only Calvin could make a 45min video on trading cards fun to watch.
The top of my tin is 100% rust. They've only been on my window sill. You should think yourself lucky.
Same! Mine was just sat on top of wardrobe though! 😂
My 007 tin also has the exclusive rust finish. Plus a dent for good measure!
Q gadgets. Brosnans x ray glasses in TWINE. His laser watch in GE. And that pen in GE. Boris twirling and clicking that pen, and Bond keeping track of the clicks wow. Villians, Oddjobs hat, Xanias, well, yeah, and Necros walkman. And Goldfinger Db5, and Daltons Vantage in LD.
Thanks a ton, Calvin. This definitely seems really interesting! ^^
I am unbelievably excited that he reviewed the other categories as well!! 😍 Kinda hoped he would do it when part one came out 🧐
1:05 I don’t think this truly represents EON’s thoughts more than it does the thoughts of the intern at the publishing company.
Took the words right out of my mouth. Same could be said for the Top trumps deck
Great video my friend. 🙂😀😀
How is Scaramanga's fun house occupancy level even at 32%, there are never more than 5 people on the entire island at one given time! Surely that would be the one area deserving of a single digit percent.
Oh my God! I adored this magazines and I’m sure I still have the tin somewhere! ☺️
The NOSTALGIA is hitting me 🤤🤤🤤🤤
I remember these. Feel nostalgic
13:49 "Q branch"
Calvin I also missed your second locations joker card, but the allies joker card you missed was 'dropping in to help!' with a picture of Bond and Wei Lin dropping down the side of Carver's HQ.
I still got all these in the tin plus spares and the magazines.
Hello Calvin. I am enjoying watching this video. Out of curiosity, I was wondering if you are considering to review to recently released Royal Mail 007 stamp collectors items?
Thanks, Ian :D I haven't actually got the stamps myself... Was thinking about it but I try to keep my Bond merch purchasing down to a minimum :D
Calvin Dyson You can get both basic sets (6 Bonds and 4 Q gadgets) without any of the display cases for about £10. Of course, if you want the fancy philately cases, it’s more expensive.
Wow I remember having these cards also do living daylights
**at least what I remember from the games** Q is always urging bond with how expensive his gadgets cost and how he should stop damaging/losing them so I'd think cost factor is how much money it costs Q branch to make that gadget.
It’s especially important as MI6’s budget comes from taxes, so Q Branch’s gadgets are funded by UK taxpayers - as referenced in ‘Live and Let Die’ when M chastises Bond for having Q repair his watch.
The nostalgia!
"Bird 1"
Hm. As a kid, I always referred to it as "the bullet-eater." (Due to the shape of the other space capsule)
Oh man I had these!!
Reviews of Bond Top Trumps, Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit games etc. to come?
Those magazines were the bees knees 🐝
I forgot about these magazines I had a fair few as a kid
huh i think i have a full collection of these in the loft, along with the big organizer tin, and the 007 pencorder
17:39 "Q Branch for functions"?...
gud vid
DAF has Blofeld's sub but not the Moon buggy?
No card for the head smashing cast gadget?
Moonraker review soon please please Calvin?
I've never heard garrote pronounced as garrow before.
That's because Calvin is being posh!!
😂...... But yes he's mispronouncing it!
One mag I never got. I have all the books though
33:59 It seems whoever made these cards liked the band Madness as well as Tomorrow Never Dies.
I think we can treat the functions rating as how versatile the gadget is combined with how well it accomplishes what it's designed to do. The attache case has multiple uses and Bond uses them all to saty alive and accomplish his mission. The walther PPK on the other hand has one use....shooting people, however, it does that one thing very very well, I mean....Bond kills a lot of people with that gun. And the 'damage caused' I view as accumulative across his films rather than the one usage. But I may be making excuses, some of the ratings just make no sense, I think they were grasping at straws to work out a uniform system for handing out scores.
LOCATIONS
Moonraker = space station (lasers, airlocks etc)
You only live twice= volcano lair (Crater guns & piranhas)
VEHICLES
Moonraker 5= moonraker
Luparus= spy who loved me
Bmw750 IL= tomorrow never dies
Armoured train= goldeneye
TECHNOLOGY
Seavac drill= tomorrow never dies
Goldengun= man with the golden gun
Qbranch = every movie
Exploding milk bottles= living daylights
Mobile phone = tomorrow never dies
Of course the X-ray Glasses would cause damage: Use them too much and you'll irradiate your corneas.
Seems 99% is the highest secrecy factor. That 1% that is missing is us who know about the locations. Only bond fans
I'm Surprised for Vehicles they didn't include The Stealth Crocodile from Octopussy it Probably Would've Beena Weak card Though
No way is moonraker station fortified.. 50% tops
I knew those bottles did more than kill two and put two in hospital!
Does bond ever use the wolfram p2k
In Agent Under Fire, yes.
@@57yearoldjamesbond GoldenEye
RUclips Critic Walther P99 yes
@@isafbriefingofficer01 Is agent under fire the only game without a movie for it lol
There's "Blood Stone". That wasn't based on anything as far as I know.
No sure abt some of these ratings but hay ho!?🤷♂️😆
Love this Video Calvin thanks for Accepting my Friend Request in Facebook!!! Call me when you have a chance buddy!!!!
2:16 lol, that pertains to concealed carry. Brits are downright hilariously clueless whenever they talk about guns.
Not Tired of Winning Considering they had a vast empire at one point.
@@isafbriefingofficer01
The sun never set on the Empire!
This channel is my dirty little secret.
