6:48 Im pretty sure your supposed to take the weakest die (yellow) when using that benefit. you only take stronger dice if it specifies.

When you get an instant reward, such as +1 recovery, it goes into effect before you recover dice for that round - not after, like you said in this video!

You could have used the red and purple dice to kill the last enemy of the first attempt. When you defeated scion his 'during' ability stops immediately, leaving you to use hits on the stronger dice as they would normally be used.

The way Coalemus ability is worded (it specifically uses "+" symbol), I think it shouldn't affect crits

When you faced Krakenlance around @24:00 you obeyed the requirement to select a + enemy once, but then suddenly ignired it when selecting the next enemy. Don't you think this requirement would apply to all enemies you would select? So, for example, you would have been required to choose Retarius and Nacom instead of just Ruhani. Not that it mattered for the outcome. Thanks for the playthrough; interesting system.

I have to point out two other mistake you made while playing beside the ones already pointed out:
If you do more than one strategy phase because you have a strategy value above 1, after you apply new dice to the combat you have to reroll ALL unapplied dice in the combat. Often you don´t apply hits and then you don´t reroll all dice. This is not correct and changes the game (not just the hoplomachus deck) a lot. It´s totally fine you don´t apply a hit because you hope for the crit but then you still have to reroll the dice and deal with the chance of rolling a miss...
The second thing was with your fight with Krakenlance:
After the first combat round you gave yourself the benefit of the item by the enemy you just defeated. This is not correct because it´s not an instant reward. You have to put in your inventory to use but you already had a full inventory. So you needed to discard an item from the inventory, put the new one in and then use it. But the biggest mistake here was that after the first combat round you didn´t exhaust your dice and used them for the second combat round as well. You have to "end" the first fight with all applied effects and then go to the next one. You basically did it non the less because the 3 dice you rerolled were recovered by your recovery of 4 but you could made it easier for you. The dead enemys are discarded, the dice on them exhausted and then you can recover them. So you basically missed 1 recovery and you could have used the red die again... Not doing the steps the right way can break the whole gameflow of a 20 strong game.
Your Bossfight has the same issue... only applied dice on non defeated enemys are not exhausted and stay from round to round... all the rest is exhausted and recovered by your recovery stat. So after your first round where you threw all the dice. In the next round you are left with only 4 dice because of your recovery stat...
In your second attempt,if played right, in the last round for example you could have defeat both enemys, exhaust the dice on them, and then recover a yellow die to increase your chances of defeating the next enemy and coalemus....
I really like your videos but man... you need to get your rules straight XD

When collamus dies is his passive of switching hits and misses still active? Or could you have killed colamus then applied the 2 hits and crit to the other enemy to kill it?

So when you defeated a primus you added them to your inventory to use the hero ability. I did a play through to ight and i just didnt see anything like that in the rules. What am I missing?

I believe that was the main character I chose, not a rule inherently but the character I chose.

@@BoardGameCo ah so it is. Aprilis. I had thought you had chosen a different one earlier when you were debating it. Thanks for the quick response. Enjoying 20 strong. It has the standard chip theory slog to get into imo but I'm liking it now after a couple of earlier confusing play through a of the different decks.

Is he wrong about the training grounds ? The exhausts area and the training grounds are not the same.
