I have never seen a Protoss expand so aggressively and in the face of their opponent. Holding that push in the first game for so long, continuously trading but constantly adding expansions right up to the front line for shield batteries with an insane economy to fuel the gateway army is brilliant. That was very impressive.
I agree - really impressive game and strategy. It was so much pressure, never giving Maru a moment to breathe and expand. If he had, Maru likely would have been able to hold and push into a superior army

SERRAL: THE STARCRAFT 2 MONSTER!
Maru definitely compares and has beaten Serral before in online tournaments. He just has this issue where Serral kicks his ass in live tournaments, and Serral is overall more consistent.

I think it's safe to say that if Serral is able to participate in SC2 matches then the Finnish military isn't that strict. In Korea, you're basically retired from your regular life while in the military.

The wake-up call is usually at 05:30 and a day's typical duty lasts for twelve hours, including meals and some breaks. In the evening there are a few hours of free time. as someone who watches torn replays quite abit i find serrel to be insane, how he just farms and adjusts to whatever the player is doing so fast. and how he manages his attacks without taking basiclly any to minor damage while crushing the opponent (and have been doing it for so long) is mind boggling. as good as the top players are the i belive the chances that there will be another serrel is so small its almost nil
I was in Dreamhack Dallas in person and watched Serral 3-0 Clem and 4-0 Maru without breaking a sweat. Esports World Cup is 50% Terran players...Serral is going to beat this tournament as casually as a Dad in the 50's
First TVP was a nice match，can't image Maru was suppress and strave till GG，although Maru did well in defending itself and resisting Lemon with overwhelming economy.
I had to look it up and vaguely remember it. The main thing I remember from way back when was the multiple cool down/toggled (I honestly don't remember which it was) weapon outfits in Battlecruisers in the gameplay reveal video. Such hype!

I remember it from the prerelease demos- the phoenix could channel to fire at all targets in range, but stunned itself afterward- it never made it into the release version, did it?
The finnish military is basically a dayjob. from 6 am to 18:00 pm. evening free time is a thing and serral most likely has a pretty good set up some where close. he could also just have a gaming laptop to play. but he has time to practice
As a certified metal-leaguer, must ask: how comes Lemon didn't go for Oracles (and preferred Observers almost exclusively instead)? Is it simply to reduce the amount of micro needed? If so, I can 100% understand wanting to minimise the amount of micro _you_ need to do when facing one of the best players on the planet!

The fact that Maru can beat other TOP Zerg like Dark and Ragnarok, but can't beat Serral, means one of two things: either Serral himself is the X-factor, or the way he uses Zerg in a way that exploits the race to the absolute max. Other Zerg should just use the same strats as Serral at this point. Zerg needs a nerf regardless; their spellcasters are stupid OP
I hate to say it but when the Serral vs. ArT match started, the music was just too loud, it sounded like you were trying to shout over the music :(. Love hearing the music but this time I think it was a touch too loud
I've seen Maru hold on 100 supply down against say soO for so much longer than was nessesary, seeing as Maru never doom dropped etc. like he did when he was hyper focused on winning, my conclusion is a sandbag.
Lemon was fantastic. Really would like to see more from him. As a terran and Maru fan......my mans looking skuffed. We've got maps and defending title, Ghumi, Inno, and Oli are absolute monsters too. But Maru is absolutely better than this. Hopefully, he's on point for the World Cup. Katowice was a real blow. Serral is Serral. I may prefer watching Dark because he's more fun to watch, but there's no denying Serral is just unreal.
