I was really excited about this build, but turns out, there's a slight error on the build, there was glitch on the site I use for building, showing that Searing Smite was on a different spell list than usual, I used it in the video, but turns out it was an error on the site... :/ so there's a correction in the character sheet on Patreon and I would probably swap it for something like Zephyr Strike!
8:16 A scimitar is not too far from a machete and is otherwise equivalent to a shortsword but deals slashing damage. Since the starting class is barbarian, the character is proficient with all weapons (as opposed to rogues who have simple and a handful of martial weapons).
@@dndbuilds That's alright. I played a pirate up to 17th level before giving him a scimitar (currently Battle Master 12/Fathomless 7). It took me a Sun Blade to realize that a dual wielder looks cooler with two different weapons (2 rapiers until 9th level) and a Vorpal Scimitar to realize that it was the closest thing to a traditional pirate weapon.
One slight mistake. Jason isn't actually the main antagonist of Friday the 13th: a new beginning, that was some random guy introduced in that movie who used Jason's likeness to commit his crimes. I created my own version of Jason. I went in a different direction. I went with a pact of the blade undying warlock from the start, and had different stats to compensate the classes, but yeah. I only built up to level 3 cause I may want to use him in a game sometime.

@@dndbuilds to be fair, Jason isn't really stupid, he just dumped wisdom I'd say. He's able to use things like harpoon guns, weedehackers I believe, knows liquid nitrogen would be a great killing tool ECT... But yeah the tends to fail wisdom saving throws. I'd say he has at least a 13 int, with the lowest wis score allowed for a PC.
Don't mind me, just using Folk Hero as a background for boogeyman characters in the future... For real though, that's really clever. Boogeyman characters serve as cautionary tales for the area the tale is prominent in, so they could be seen as an "anti-hero" in some ways. This is a similar reasoning for why characters like Jack the Ripper and Dracula can become Heroic Spirits in the Fate franchise. For some reason, I never thought of translating that logic into D&D. I think that's super cool.
While I probably wouldn't do a video about it they would actually be pretty straightforward to make, you could either use a paladin to do find steed and make that steed a hog, or you could use a beastmaster ranger, and either use enlarged reduced so you can actually write it or just use a small type of character like a halfling or gnome.
@@dndbuilds thanks a lot, i jokingly proposed this idea to some of my friends and they though I should actually do it, so this helps a lot! Have a great day
Nice build here. One minor thing that would also (sort of) thematically fit here would be going Zealot Barbarian as opposed to Totem. Choose Necrotic for the damage type for the first hit and the no material cost resurrection would work well. In replacement of Sephiroth from the Chucky episode, I instead propose Sora from Kingdom Hearts.
Lol I already built Sora as well, but that was also super early in my builds, or again I learned a ton about editing and whatnot since then. I recommend checking it out if you get the chance

theres one thing i wouldve done differently with this, and that's going with the optional ranger features from tashas - so deft explorer and favored foe. you don't get as many bonuses to it due to only taking 4 levels (or 3 if you want 12 levels in barbarian) but the extra expertise (id pick survival) and 1d4 in damage would work really well for jason! (even if the additional languages wouldn't lol)
the most difficult part of this build isn't making it, it's integrating it into a party. How often does jason work with other people? almost never (aside from his mother) but here's an idea to convince the myth of crystal lake. Jason will help the party stop a world ending threat, because if the world is destroyed, then that means a lot of innocent (not campers and counselors) people would die. say what you will, but mama vorhees would never allow that to happen, and she would tell jason to work with the party until the world is safe. also, i'd honestly drop the last level of ranger. all you're getting at level 4 is an ability score improvement. meanwhile you can get that AND an extra round of rage if you get a 12th level in barbarian.
Dread stalker… make another attack that is not a second attack or bonus action but is a part of your initial attack that does a d8 of that wp type… but make no mistake, it is a strike. Call it a stab and twist or slash and drag but go ahead and add that sneak attack damage again to add that dread. Don’t rob the rogue of its potential damage output when fighters are taking second turns and paladins are burning spell slots to one shot dragons at 5th lv😊
I might have gone hunter instead of gloom stalker, either horde breaker or colossus slayer being viable, because I think, while he does have a good nova, he's a pretty consistent damage dealer.
Honestly Hunter is one of my favorite Ranger's and it was my first ever character. But I wanted to have a reason why people weren't noticing the giant hulking man with the machete skulking through the camp, and Gloom Stalker helped with that
I definitely would have done a different build for Michael, but actually threw a vote on my Patreon, and Michael was one of the options but Jason wound up winning

Considering there is more than 1 physical Jason Vorhees id depends which version. Especially as Mortal Kombat added 3 more.
