Also keep 100-200$ in cash atleast one can survive if something like this happens. I was in a far away village so my problems became too severe.
On the flip side if you have a card with zero exchange rate it'll be better to use the local currency. The home currency will always be marked up so you'll be paying a percentage more to pay in inr compared to aed.
Whenever you travel outside of the country infirm your cc that you will be using it abroad otherwise they will block all transactions as they might think your card is stolen or compromised…
