@Roger Loquitur there is nothing in the quotes in this video that detracts or deters from Gurdjieff's teachings. so go easy on the suspicion. in fact, all of them go hand in hand with many of the things he already said and could very well have been said by him. and if the quotes are not destructive to his work but instructive and helpful, then why would you get bent all out of shape and scream bloody murder? seems like you have a need.
🙌 👏 🙏 🤝 👍 made my day Marvin ! AND we should all not forget that it is very VERY important to be professionally in the RIGHT FIELD ! For instance if you are a born creative guy you should never EVER try 2 b a great speculator or statesman !
"Always finish what you have begun" - reminds me on Tesla, who thought that way until he read first book of Voltaire and realized that there are 100 volumes of that book. He finished it and said "I won't finish everything no more" haha. Edit: Tesla first read 100 volumes, and then he said "no more"
--> SUCKED IN (into the world of another genius) But sometimes its VERY rewarding ! So me I personally recommend all books of Osho, a decisive successor of Gurdjieff !!

It is indeed a "monologue" by Reyna D'Assia in a rather fictional chapter of the autobiographical "The Spiritual Journey of Alejandro Jodorowsky" from 2008. Apparently Alex speaks publicly all the time so he might have commented on the accuracy of all this, but it goes without saying that it is written both for edutainment and Alex did a good job of capturing some Gurdjieffian summary

not by mr.g. It is what a woman supposedly said to Jodorowsky according to Jodorowsky. He also claimed she was claiming to be Mr. Gs daughter and this was Gs advice to her. We dont know whether she was really his daughter, nor whether G gave this advice, nor whether she really said this, nor whether Jodorowsky was able to remember 82 Sentences so clearly. I don't think so.
action = outward movement of inward 'will' (to do); therefore inner intention (to experience greater faith) and outward action of demonstrating faith unite, and through united movements of energy, increase one's direct experience of faith within.
@@hajarel18 Dear Hajar El, you already possess faith (non-artificial/non-mechanical), somewhat occluded by 'mind' perhaps- but still there. It's the mind (intellectual center) that casts doubts - demands proof, seeking security (a mechanical result). Your consciousness (an aspect of the totality) KNOWS - and (one's) beingness does not exist separate from that - but the mind veils this w/ thoughts (doubt in this case). By acting (will) 'as' faith and 'in' faith (intention/attention), your direct experience of it naturally unfolds (a process) from within. It is your will (repeatedly applied) which provides the energy needed (octave-wise). DOUBT your doubt (dis-identify w/ those thoughts) instead of doubting your faith.

he had a son in Tibet. there is a short passage in one of the books written about him by students about a group of Tibetan men who came to visit him at his institute or apartment. one of them, their group leader was his son. he came to ask Gurdjieff for advice on a matter and then the group soon left again. Gurdjieffs did not discuss or elaborate this with his pupils and i have only seen it mentioned in one place. Gurdjieff was very secretive about his family. i never knew he had a daughter but i would not be surprised if he had several children the world doesn't know about.
Gurdjieff was the father of some children at Le Prieuré in France. The source for this are the remarkable books by Fritz Peters, Boyhood with Gurdjieff, and, Gurdjieff remembered. The first of which gives a very honest, child's perspective of Gurdjieff, and does not leave out anything that a more adult book I feel would. It is essentially a child's view, though written by the boy when he became an adult. The Tibetan visit is very interesting, thank you. I wonder could you tell me the source for this? That would be gracious of you.

+BobbyG Are you 100% sure? Do you really know that? Or are you guessing? For a start, they are the words of Alejandro Jodorowsky, which he supposedly heard from someone who may have been a "daughter" of G., who supposedly heard from G himself. Thus they are least twice removed from the source.
maybe bc of the reason it's being taken? I too thought this. But if you think about it, it makes sense because then your average joe will immediately just post it up on social media for admiration. admirations is something he wrote about. One can also take it for self but it's coming back full circle that one took it for the reason of it being someone famous and not rly that important.
What? You don't think Gurdjieff ever said "Never get your picture taken with a celebrity"? Surprised one of them wasn't "Don't spend all your time on the Internet." Still, some of it was pretty good advice.
There's advice from many sources, some gets passed down from history because it's continuously proven and used. There's a basic flaw in us that prevents us from understanding and acting on the advice, so that's a place to investigate. That's the practical side of G's legacy. Why don't I change?
What else matters? Does it HAVE to be from Gurdjieff? I don't have to face or live with Gurdjieff or u, i have to face & live with myself. I just heard this a minute ago. It was useful for me at this second...i'm not sure what else matters.
Gurdjieff got it from somewhere...some he synthesized. He, with the help of other seekers and long experimentation, developed a method to gradually show us a way to combat our crippling bias and suggestibility...to learn ways to understand our experiences and aims. Listening or reading aphorisms can feed a valid part of our minds...sounds good, reminds us of a more real way of seeing. But all the wise words haven't changed basic humanity, has it? It requires effort along certain lines to really make it our own. With effort, knowledge can become understanding. It needs to be in our bodies, our feeling and our thinking. But life swallows our attention. Is there anything left over for ourselves and humanity? Glad for you that these impressions are meaningful. Always glad to hear from a critical seeker. Find others. G said that if you weren't critical in this work, you'd get nowhere.
Colin Caissie - re That's the practical side of G's legacy. Why don't I change? Is there any conclusion to this ? Did G or O develop a practical way to change ? Change what I assume is the programming imposed upon us from when are young and suggestible.
The values that are the polar opposite to that of American Capitalism. @Andras Nagy -> What if everyone literally did that? Would we still have a high / low to game? "Accept that nothing belongs to you." Umm sorry Gurdjieff; my body belongs to me. If its violated; I'll defend it. All this never do stuff sounds counter productive. Making mistakes and doing these things he is telling us to avoid with the word "NEVER" is how we LEARN. Otherwise, we are obeying Gurdjuev and not living life. Is he trying to say; live by his words and not by our intuition for a driect and immediate experience?
Er.. your body belongs to you...try telling that to a terminally ill cancer victim? We merely inhabit our bodies. Your body is a tool a vehicle not your personal possession it may seem like you 'own' it but how can you own something when you had no choice in its acquisition. It is an illusion that we own anything that is temporary. We own nothing if we're lucky maybe our soul....post conditioning. Think before cretiquing genius.
2:27 - 5:44 Your body does not belong to you. Every part of it has been something else, and in time, will be something else again. It is all borrowed. Dust to dust. Our bodies are just posh dust that is animated by our life force.
No, he just wanna share the learnings he got from his mistakes & thinking. If u doubt it, u r free to commit same/ similar mistakes to gain knowledge OR u can ponder on his thoughts a bit & conclude if there is any truth to wt he says.
Very limiting thinking! if you offend someone ask his pardon. I would be very sorry for Trump having to apologies to people he offended. The truth always offends people´s ego, I say let them be offended. Never accept any truth from some yogi, you are the master!

@Roger Loquitur yea, i think im gonna let your crazy words speak for themselves.

"Always finish what you have begun" - reminds me on Tesla, who thought that way until he read first book of Voltaire and realized that there are 100 volumes of that book. He finished it and said "I won't finish everything no more" haha.

@@netguy73 what is the specific text that mentions "Advice for his daughter".
I read most of his writings and haven't seen it.

What music is this?
Gurdjieff/DeHartmann
Keith Jarrett also does an album of Gurdjieff's music (solo piano) that is immensely beautiful.
not by mr.g. It is what a woman supposedly said to Jodorowsky according to Jodorowsky. He also claimed she was claiming to be Mr. Gs daughter and this was Gs advice to her. Can someone explain please the meaning of "If you do not have faith, act as if you do"?
action = outward movement of inward 'will' (to do); therefore inner intention (to experience greater faith) and outward action of demonstrating faith unite, and through united movements of energy, increase one's direct experience of faith within.
@@jfarina9876 Thank you
so the result of a artificial or mechanical faith would be enough for the consciousness?
@@hajarel18
Dear Hajar El, you already possess faith (non-artificial/non-mechanical), somewhat occluded by 'mind' perhaps- but still there.
@@jfarina9876 Thank you very much
I asked because the same verse was puzzling me in the Quran:
"And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty "
I couldn't understand for many years how worship can preced faith. Thank you, you made me closer.

@Roger Loquitur Yes it is true I was duped by my wife, however I am bright enough not to infer a whole psychology from a person's single utterance. Are you? Of course I don't identify with him, you fool. He was an inspiration. You might want to practise some of his teachings?
@Roger Loquitur You are such a child. How old are you 18? Have a little read about ego and identification, think for 30 years then you might leave teenagerdom
@Roger Loquitur Hush and try and be nicer and more positive you silly little boy.
@Roger Loquitur Silly child. Go to sleep
@Roger Loquitur Yes yes I'm sure you're right
All this must have been invented by Jodorosky ... I never heard it from his true disciples.
where did jodo state this?
Jodorowsky is a Legend but even he is influenced by someone in this case Mr beelzebub himself aka Gurdjieff... the holy mountain.....
💚
We think you are talking about spiritual daughter as Gurdjieff never recognise any daughter neither son
he had a son in Tibet. there is a short passage in one of the books written about him by students about a group of Tibetan men who came to visit him at his institute or apartment. one of them, their group leader was his son. he came to ask Gurdjieff for advice on a matter and then the group soon left again.
This is not from gurdjieff ,alejandro jodorowsky invented.
@@pacofernandez2148 Truth is never invented .... why is this so important for you & others to keep saying this? & so? so what? What do you require? oh you are correct well done wow!
feel better now? what has it added to you? anything? or could it be ego ? these are called buffers ; they stop us from seeing ourselves (Gurdjieff ) 🌞🌞
Maybe jodorowsky was student of 4th way?
Did you research this question if it is so very important to you ? or is it just irritating to change your mind ? 🌻 It is great fodder for Work on oneself, if ego will allow you.
Gurdjieff is dead.Gurdjieff is on the RUclips road.
Das sind aber mehr als zehn Gebote.
He didnt live in our Times he ?
🤨"No he didn't -
but he must have known the *war*
is upon *us* 🏁🤺
zugemacht.""
+wernertrptube not bad....
A little too complicated and behavioural. Just learn to self-observe, and self-remember.
These are the actual words of Gurdjieff... you understand that, right?
+BobbyG Are you 100% sure? Do you really know that? Or are you guessing? For a start, they are the words of Alejandro Jodorowsky, which he supposedly heard from someone who may have been a "daughter" of G., who supposedly heard from G himself. Thus they are least twice removed from the source.
you have a source on that Dean P? thanks
There it is 👊🏼
Do not have your photograph taken with famous people . Why not?
maybe bc of the reason it's being taken? I too thought this.
But if you think about it, it makes sense because then your average joe will immediately just post it up on social media for admiration. admirations is something he wrote about. One can also take it for self but it's coming back full circle that one took it for the reason of it being someone famous and not rly that important.
After the first minute, I saw that none of this is directly from G.
Useful? You decide.
What? You don't think Gurdjieff ever said "Never get your picture taken with a celebrity"?
Surprised one of them wasn't "Don't spend all your time on the Internet."
Still, some of it was pretty good advice.
There is nothing said about the source of these words.
These quotes are not, most definitely not, by Gurdjieff
This is a list of precepts from Alejandro Jodorowsky, some based on Gurdjieff, but definitely Jodorowsky.
It doesn’t say they are. They are advices he gave his daughter. Use your mind. You give advice you have learnt from others.
+Stunami I cannot speak to what you wrote, but I love your youtube name. Wave!
2:27 - 5:44
Your body does not belong to you.
But ponder without a notion.
Was that 83
haha

Share fairly seduca.
Stop defining yourself
Many good ideas, but this is not authentic Mr. Gurdjieff.
cliches ..pff
That Piano sound is ao irritating. Audio mixing with music is Horrible... Piano is competing with voice, not complementing. It's so Violent!!!!!!
Very limiting thinking! if you offend someone ask his pardon. I would be very sorry for Trump having to apologies to people he offended. The truth always offends people´s ego, I say let them be offended. Never accept any truth from some yogi, you are the master!
Fake! 😎🍷
