This is an excellent video -- thank you very much! I don't recall you mentioning the thread of the fan "nut" (for lack of a better term) so I thought I would add that detail. I removed my fan from a 2006 Range Rover L322 Supercharged (4.2 Jaguar engine) just a few hours ago. The fan “nut” has a conventional, right-hand thread, and loosened counter-clockwise (that is, “lefty loosey”) when at the front of the truck facing the rear (the only way you can position yourself to actually work on the fan). I have seen some posts that indicate the opposite (which is what I tried initially). Obviously, YMMV and JLR may have changed the threads from year to year and model to model and S/C may be different from NA, but “lefty loosey” worked for me!
Could you tell me what belts you got, my mechanic said the belt we got is an inch to big. But we got right belt from my vin # , and part pqs500241. Is he missing something or is he not putting tension on tensioner. I’ve been waiting 2 weeks and now he said s/c belt inch too big. Can you help!
Good video I'm about to do mine did you remove the fan cowling ? If so how hard is it to remove and take the fan off ? Also would you recommend replacing the fan mounting bracket or just put the old one back on ? Cheers 👍

so you just left the shroud in and worked around it?
I don't remember, I think the fan does come out with the shroud staying in place, I remember it is a close fit.
How would you pull out the fan without removing the shroud? There's no clearance.
Do you have the belt number?
Link for the serp belt set?
