Yes, those steps are glorious! In a lot of older historic US buildings, the steps beat out the elevator in beauty, especially when the elevator gets ruined by modernization. Stairs get modernized most of the time. I am major glad this elevator is still inner-door-less. Long live inner-door-less elevators with the flush shaft wall.
This is a nice one. Probably added in the late 80's or early 90's. Pretty much original I bet.
