Nice driving video and explanation. I don't know how y'all live out there with them high mortgage and rent rates. Especially when it comes to homes where parking is an issue and you have to climb up stairs to get to your residence. I mean apartments have stairs, too, but those stairs attached to some of the old homes are way too narrow. I can only imagine carrying groceries up and down, I'd be so tired. But L.A. is cool, I am from Phoenix and we don't have as much narrowness. Lol.
The tour begins where I use to live on Marathon off of Sunset back in the 1980s. When I lived there the K9/Loft use to be a foreign car auto repair shop. Many Hollywood celebrities would bring their cars there to avoid the expensive repairs in the Beverly Hills area. I sure do remember Echo Park. By the way, over the years Silver Lake became so very popular that rental properties as far away as Fountain Ave and Sunset Blvd, were claiming to be in Silver Lake, which they weren't.
I wasn't sure if you made it to Landa St. - where Echo Park Dr. ends - very historical street- the little group of cabins down from the big house...I lived in one - 1629. '86-'90. I can only imagine what's happened to it after 30 years...
@@felipecrook At the time, it was bliss! The street went all the way to the freeway (totally scary 1-lane...)...several of the cabins had vacant for some time, and the owner made some improvements for mine...had a view of the railroad yards, it was like having a Lionel train in the living room. It was charmed time.
Lived on Temple across from the park when I was born. The apartment house I lived in was still there last time I was there 20 years or so ago. No freeways then. There was a library and tennis courts across Temple. Was a large Filipino population. Sure looks different in a good way as I have watched it change over the years, over 80 now. Still consider myself an Angeleno living 1200 miles due east. Nice video.
This is where 2001's Training Day was filmed during the part where they show the corrupt cop killed, and his 4 million dollars hidden beneath his kitchen.
Very nice tour.. I live in echo Park..I'm right across from the lake . Everything you mention is 100% accurate . ❤
My condolences.

Wow. Echo Park has changed so much since the 80’s. I heard it was really rough back then. Silverlake is one of my favorite areas.
@@felipecrook Actually, I first lived off of Hyperion and Sunset starting in the 1960s. At that time Echo Park was indeed a rough area.
Should have drove down Carroll Avenue and showed us the Charmed house and house from Thriller.
I didn’t know that was filmed there!! I’ll have to check it out

I didn’t on this video but I was just there previewing a house for a buyer two days ago! What was it like living there?

Before they built that chipotle and Starbucks it used to be a Lucy’s laundromat and parking was never an issue. Now, I never find parking 😒
Ever been to Australia mate?
Nope. It’s on the top of my list to go to!
