I'm from Newport, played at Nokomis 50 years ago with Cooper's grandfather, Dan. It is unreal that Newport is on the map. Cooper is going to get better and better as he plays with better players.
I’m from Maine and at first even I was like he’s from Maine he ain’t gonna go pro…. Boy was I wrong
That's the way it is all through Maine and even more rural. They have good basketball programs and in school. Not as talented as mtverde. A lot of travel teams. My sister played her daughters played now her grandchildren play. We love basketball up here. Wages aren't high and lots of travel no matter what sport you play. I just love watching coop play and love even more him staying grounded with all the hype. It's a great way to be brought up but doesn't lend itself to to great advantages. With coopers competitiveness and his talent he will go a long way. ❤I would love to see cooper on this podcast with one of my all time favorite patriots!!
His older brother played too . The twins and their brother won the state championship together. His twin brother Ace is a complete different player than cooper. Maine is a very Rural state. But make no mistake NBA players or not they play basketball up here. Generations. Both Coopers parents were college basketball players. Cooper is definitely making up proud up here. Been following him for years.
#1 pick in NBA draft 2025 FACTS
PLEASE BRING MY DUKIES A TITLE COOP-! WE NEED YOU BUDDY-!! LETS GO DUKE
I mean to be fair i been to Newport 1000 times and i never once seen a basketball court up there. I was surprised to hear he was from that way too. I dont doubt there are other good basketball players up there but it just kinda defies logic. Like how do you get that good without even having a neighborhood park u can walk to to play ball? I feel like he must have had some dedicated parents to reach the level he has. Btw if u live in that area u should check out the amish bakery stand on main st heading into palmyra from the walmart. It almost looks kinda sketchy but they got the best donuts on planet earth
They might try to sell u a cat tho
Jules you need to have Cooper on and have him talk about that Olympics scrimmage where he was killin the super team!
Why does scalabrine have the same voice as mayhem miller

@@jtotheshua885I think football and the NFL takes a lot of the 6'3" + savages we have too. but I agree they are prejudiced against, mainly relegated to supporting roles or shooting specialists and get bullied every day at work 😆 it's unfortunate
I’m all for white American players. Need to make the country proud. Take it from the euros

Best episode yet
hard to compete with that matt light episode
ace flagg going to umaine? he's better than that.
Cooper Flagg will have his time in The NBA. But, hearing an NBA Player, who was at The Lowest Level of being a Professional Basketball, telling me How Good a Prospect is, Hits Different than Someone on The Highest Level of Professional Basketball. Brian Scalabrine was The 13Th Man, on The Team, and was a Glorified Mascot.
There is no skill in a dunk: you're tall; you jump high.
He’s got a lot more going for him than that
sounds like some healthy hate
100% hate
