Well thank god a patch exist that replaces the original Stage 1 with this. Absolutely baffling that not only this wasn't used but they instead used a Stage 1 theme from a different title (Bloodlines). It leaves a weird first impression to an otherwise pretty solid game.
The original GB version of this is like my all-time favorite Castlevania song. The fact that they'd produce something this great and not use it is appalling!
Especially when you consider that this was the first stage theme of the first game Christopher appears it, it basically makes Battle of the Holy the Theme of Christopher. So, yeah, it's crazy they didn't use it in the game.

This game's version of Reincarnated Soul is great and all, but it's much more fitting to put the theme of the main protagonist. That's like Konami making a remake of Castlevania 3, but instead of using Trevor's theme, Beginning, for the first level, they used Alucard's theme, Dracula's Castle from Symphony of the Night. Wouldn't that be stupid!? That's basically making a connection between Trevor and Aluca--oh, wait *Looks at Lords of Shadow* ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!?!?!?

My only guess why they didn't use this awesome remix of Christopher's theme song is that they had other stages planned they didn't put into the game and instead deciced to change things completely. I for example was actually surprised that the first boss wasn't an upgraded version of the Gobanz, the armored giant from the original game.

Considering they used Vampire Killer for Stage 6, I actually think it'd of been a nice way to add a bit of a finale feeling to the game to use this theme instead rather than replacing Reincarnated Souls. Sure, this is a first stage theme and all, but something about it just really feels like it could've been a hell of a way to end the game.

Already stated how stupid I think it was to not use this track for the game. However, in my opinion though, it is a bit overcrowded with instruments. Its like there's no repreive ever, there is always sounds going on, so its a little difficult to tell certain instruments apart. But that is nitpicking. ^^
i think i know why. the first 2 game on game boy sucks. After many years of shame the developer M2 gave him a contract that Christopher Belmont must give up his theme song in order to make his game badass.
