Clever use of Scotch Tape - who knew. Always love the narrations
Bisous 😘
Crazy good birches!! You're a master with this style. Thanks for sharing your techniques.
Glad you like them! Very kind of you to say Will
What a great idea….using scotch tape for your trees! I’ve used masking tape before which gives a totally different look. I’ll give this a try! Thanks for sharing this clever trick!
No problem, enjoy :)
Phantastisch, ich beneide alle, die so malen können. Irgendwann werde ich es mal ausprobieren. Danke fürs zeigen und LG aus Köln
Sorry I don't speak, I'm assuming German? Thanks for watching though!
@@JuliaLisArt Hi, love your style of watercolor... I wanted you to be able to translate what folks are saying so here's a tiny tip: Highlight the section you want translated and right-click. You'll see a mode to translate to English. Just that easy and it will ask do you want the entire page translated.
Love birch trees!! And your tutorial is awesome 👍 thank you so much, never thought of scotch tape, better than masking fluid.
Im always looking for 'already have at home' solutions :)
They look so 3d real. If you know what I mean. Really beautifully done.
Thanks Chantal!
Birch trees are fascinating and you painted them so wonderfully. Your tutorials are a joy to watch and learn so much from you. Thank you for sharing, greatly appreciated.🤗🤗🦋🦋❤❤🤍🤍💙💙🧸🧸🎨🎨
Thank you Joan!
Just lovely!
:)
These are awesome thank you
Thanks for watching!
I really enjoy your videos and just wanted to let you know knot holes are caused when a branch is cut off, or dies and the tree continues to grow around the dead wood left behind. It's not likely that another branch would grow in the dead wood of the knot hole. I'm going to use the scotch tape method and paint me some birch trees. Thank you so much for your calm videos that make it all look easy.
Is that the case? That is so fascinating, I'll have to take a better look at a birch tree. Even so, we aren't going for botanical accuracy, and branches are so fun to paint!
So beautiful and satisfying to watch. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Como siempre preciosamente pintado por Julia! Fantástico!!❤
I had to google translate this, thank you Elvia! :)
This is just beautiful. I love the technique with the scotch tape. I really, really want to try this!
Go for it Kim :)
I will have to try this.
these tree r beauitful....
Go for it!
What size did you use of paper. Like 5x7?
I cut my paper in random sizes to make the paper last longer, but I'd guess it's 5x7?
@@JuliaLisArt I kind of thought so. I just finished cutting mine. Lol
A tree question, do the black spots appear were ever branches will appear in nature?
Someone actually pointed out in the comments that this isn't the case - that the black knots are from where a branch used to be but died. But hey, I'm no botanical expert - I paint what looks nice!
@@JuliaLisArt Me too, trees are perfect subjects. I'm not a tree expert either.
Around here it is oaks, maples, birches and poplar. I did learn that the oaks don't shed their leaves as easy as the others do.
And you taught me about birch trees it's a win win😊.
Thanks again for a great channel.
@@dwbrady5795 That's so true!! All the oak trees on my property still have some of their brown leaves on the tree and there's 40cm of snow on the ground!
Will the tape tear the paper? I've used painters tape
Not sure as I never used Scotch tape but I ALWAYS put the strips of tape on the leg of my jeans before I put it on the paper. Takes a bit of the tack off and less likely to take the surface of the paper off.
Haha yes I used to do this for my super cheap quality paper because it did rip the cheap paper but not 100% cotton!
If you have very cheap quality paper, then yes I've had it rip before. But it doesn't rip 100% cotton paper or higher quality cold press.
Dido is buying Scotch Tape and a box of tissues
So generous of you Dido, at this point you're buying diapers and wet wipes haha!
If that's literally true, then I'm so happy for ya'll. A Babysitter next ? @@JuliaLisArt
It is indeed true - our little bundle of joy is 2 months old now!@@technobubba4
