Simple mod with a pool noodle zip tied inside the front of the body stopps the body folding in. Check out RC Illuminate video on this mod, it worked every time he nose planted his Sledge.

I picked up my Sledge on Saturday, an 6s is great an after a hard run the motor wasn't very hot. It's Definitely a good truck but there were a ot lose screws an the rear dog bones needed some fuel tubing. Its Definitely one of the best handling RC trucks I have!
She’s a runner! Looked low & stable. Today I did my first backflip with my Fireteam but actually did it by accident. One thing that I’ve heard & learned about the fire team is nice it starts to cartwheel it just keeps on going which is not good. But it sure is tuff!
Fireteam is a better choice than the Sledge for your money. I wouldn't even bother running the FT on 4s. Even on 6s the Sledge is sluggish. I do love the clipless body and the battery tray.

Got an "idea" (technically, a could of ideas) for you to try....both of which involve swapping to belted tires. The first...for street use...is comparing the stock tires against the Pro-Line Street Fighter HP Belted Tires. The second...for off-road use...is comparing the stock tires against the Pro-Line Badlands MX38 HP Belted Tires. Obviously, this is for after you replace the 'slow' Traxxas servo. 🤙🏼
Hi exo this a reefs raw 500 question..I recently got a losi LMT and losi 25T servo saver on first use my wheels locked to the right¢er no left ..at first thought I believed it stripped the teeth on saver but it’s on real tight… I was like idk 🤷♂️ so I took saver off re-centered the servo but I still don’t know what happened? 🧐
Wtf that was fastest response ever ..holy s$&@ .. yes it was working fine first charge on new servo about 15-20 minutes in no real hard hits got like a 1ft dirt scale ramp 4 side then no left only right.. so I reset everything but I don’t know what I fixed..couple teeth might be off but doesn’t look serious it’s on pretty tight as far as I know works good for now ? 🧐🤨

i've started a saving account to get a Sledge. I hope a front bumper is soon engineered/offered. I have a 3S 4000mah Traxxas battery for my ol Rustler. Can I run the larger 5000mah 3S Traxxas battery along with my current 4000mah 3S, or must the 'mah' match?
the mah and the c rating have to match or else the smaller mah battery or the higher c rated battery with discharge fastest and can damage puff up the battery damage your esc or worst case start a campfire inside your truck
I would guess that if you cut the body back to let the stock bumper be clear, it shouldn't have anything to hang up on. First mode I'd be doing... Hurricane
Thats probably not true, its just you hatin. Tell the truth: there is nearly no space for other/bigger motors! Thats not nice, but clever. The motormount is great.
@@runnerbaba That motor mount is actually a poor design. It doesn't tie into the center diff mount. Hence the breakage on the diff teeth I have seen already. The motor mount cage also limits the size of motor upgrades you can do for more power. That's why WE have M2C for those must needed upgrades on a 850$$$ rig!!! 😝👍

Nice truck but its a little on the heavy side so it kinda sacrifices agility its what i think of when someone says “over engineered” but that doesn’t always equal better performance. We’ll see how it holds up stock in the long run but just about every clip I’ve watched has had the front body damaged, Honestly Traxxas should’ve done something about that before release but I’m sure they were aware $ Bumper upgrade coming soon $
For $800 you can almost build a Hobao Hyper MT plus 2, which is about the same size as an 1/5 Outcast and half the weight, more durable too. Almost on par with the weight of the sledge too lol
@@BekantRC I love mine. I'd buy 10 before touching a Sledge. But the motor is pretty underwhelming, I dropped in a Cen Reaper center diff, max6 & 1050kv motor & it's crazy on 8s.

RPM does make a front bumper for the Sledge. I want to get a sledge and that would be the first upgrade I would do personally.

Did you know if you put the xrt esc that thing comes to life on 4s because you can run it with a jumper in one of the battery lines

That Servo can run on 7.4 so if u could change the esc or run an external bec just thought I'd let you know if you don't already know

Yes, braces, chassis plates, etc. Check Kevin Talbot’s video about upgrades he made to it.
Pretty much the same upgrade parts as the Mojave and Kraton depending on what part your upgrading.

Lol they made it with the motor in front so its front heavy and never countered it to the rear weight till you by the aluminum upgrades for the back
