I really love your channel. I ordered a V3 Magicyoyo and will start learning to play yo-yo. Love your website and I'll register soon. I really love the Atlas but when I look at the Portugal website, everything shows as out of stock. I mean everything from bearings to strings. I'm an American living abroad and would prefer to order from you guys rather than Amazon. Do you have a distributor from UK or any other European countries that can ship to Portugal? If I order on the US site, import taxes will kill me (or my wife) 😯
@@mdtaylor2274 We just did an update on our site, so it is possible that everything appearing as out of stock is a bug. If you wouldn't mind helping us out for a minute, what products specifically are out of stock? That information may help us identify some problems on our end. I just got the atlas today for my birthday! It's the best yoyo I ever played with! Something about it makes it sooooo easy to play with and learn difficult tricks with. I had the cannon before, and was trying to do tower stalls and I couldn't do the last wrap around the yoyo. I tried for 3 weeks and I couldn't do it. But I got the atlas and did it in one day! Thanks YoYoTricks!
This yoyo is really great. I recommend it to anybody willing to pay the price for a high end yoyo. I'd say more, but the video explains it all, so get watching.
I really like these background/history reviews. It's really gives more depth to the product you guys are advertising, I can't wait to buy the replay pro. and I'm even thinking about getting a sage just for fun.
Gentry stein needed a signature yoyo because he was a good player for YYF so they made him one and it was good. he won worlds with it and then it became mad popular, the end
There's nothing to that which was smart-ass in any way or whatever. Most signature yoyos and stuff do not really have particularly interesting history. A lot of the time, a professional player for a company is given the opportunity to get a signature, they are asked for what they want/like in a yoyo, they play with a few prototype versions and then it gets made. If they become popular, the yoyo they use also becomes popular and people buy it. The atlas has an interesting story because of jake elliot's decision to compete with a single first-version prototype. And, Jake is one of yotricks players, so they can speak about it and its interesting circumstance. The Atlas is a special yoyo with a special story, and so making a video about it makes sense, from yotricks perspective. However, they probably don't know much about the shutters history, and dont have gentry on standby. And that's implying that the shutter even HAS an interesting history, it very well might just be a yoyo which gentry stein gave his desired specs for and it got made.
I think that the new civility deserves one of these style reviews by you guys, honestly I think the new design has completely brought the civility up to the highest standard (think one drop). Im literally dying waiting for my atlas and civility to get here (friends tagged on a grabbed a cannon each, though im not rich enough to afford a cannon as well). (Just aesthetics have convinced me to buy the civility, so im sure irs going to play amazing).
I have been having a hard time deciding whether i should get the Space Cadet or the Atlas. I already have the Edge and getting the space cadet would seem a lot nicer since it's good for horizontal tricks and amazing at finger spins, but same with the Atlas. I like the Atlas because of it's special extra wide length and how light and stable it is since I like speed tricks and I miss a lot. The yoyos have things that I want in them but I don't know which one to decide to get. Which one would you guys recommend?
Out of the 2 we would recommend the Atlas, its wide shape will make it easier for you to land on the string, plus its very stable which will keep it spinning for a long time. The Atlas also has the finger spin dimple which makes it easy to learn fingerspins :)
When i first tried the atlas (my new yoyo) i tried 2:10 cuz it hasn't got that strong spintime . After trying some string tricks i understood that this yoyo is very fast which made it good for horizontal too ( I've learned trapeze (with banana turnover) in my second try. Thanks!
devin williams My main style is 5a, I personally prefer both yoyos, but however because the atlas is SO wide. It would be a lot easier to learn different string tricks
Atlas was a titan whose punishment after the failed coup was to hold the sky upon his shoulders. About 500 years ago, Geradus Mercator made a book of maps. In the book, he told the story of Atlas. Ever since then, a book of maps has been called an atlas.
I love this yoyo..I want one to add it to my collection..but I have a big problem here in saudi arabia because of the package im not sure if im hoing to recieve it or not..its very difficult to send package here in saudi..
I was thinking of getting the edge or the Atlas for 1A. I have the velocity and it's cool I've been learning some basic string tricks but I feel like a new metal yoyo would help me improve. what would you recommend?
+jtmasters16 If you've only learned some basic string tricks, you're better off getting a budget metal and coming back for the higher end models when you get into more advanced play.
nictheperson wouldn't I save more money in the long run if I get a top of the line yoyo and learn everything on it and never have to get another one than if I get a budget one and learn on it and then have to get a better one?
It's true that it could save you money, but, as nic says, only if the yoyo you buy just happens to be the perfect one for you. It may not be. And some of the budget metal yoyos are very reasonably priced (Shutter, Aviator, Horizon, Too H.O.T, etc., and those are just the Yoyofactory ones, One Drop, C3, and others including yotricks make some great budget metal designs). On the other hand, if the Atlas really looks like something you'd like, just get it. Don't worry about yoyos you may or may not get later, if you don't want to, just get whatever looks best to you now. And yes, a good metal yoyo is going to take you leaps and bounds beyond the Velocity, pretty much no matter which one you choose. You are almost certainly going to notice a major improvement.
yotricks i was planning on getting a c3 teleport instead, but seeing as i also am loving that mint cannon i may as well get the atlas as well , im excited for that matte finish.
The counterweight does not come with the Atlas, so you will need to add it on. It used to come with the Atlas, but then we decided to drop the price of the Atlas and remove the counterweight so people weren't paying for something they might not be interested in.
So far we have found the Atlas is the best yoyo for starting to learn horizontal. Once you are good at it there are a number of other yoyos that also have nice qualities, like the Shutter and Edge. I still personally prefer the Atlas, but I can see why other players would prefer something a little different when they have the basics down.
Ellis Supreme the cannon would be your next best choice, or any yoyo in the budget metal catagory on the yotricks website. Yotricks only carry what they like so you wont find any crap throws in there to mislead you. They always stock the best.
Most of the time I use CenterTrac bearings myself, but the feeling of Konkave bearings is very nice. I don't know if I could say I preferred one over the other.
They are about the same for fast tricks but if you're looking for a great one we'd recommend the Canon! :) yoyotricks.com/yoyo-store/yoyo-brands/yotricks/canon-yoyo/

Lethal Legendary Yoyo gloves will help but it deppends on what youre looking for.For finger spins,I will not use them because the yoyo spins longer when it touches youre nail instead of the glove. If you love grinds, then they are great. If you wanna play fast, the gloves will be useful.Another great factor is the climate in youre area.In my place,it's usually hot or humid and gloves will be useful. If it's cold then they will probably not be way to good since youre hand will not be sticky or awkward.I personally think you should get them in case you need them or have a cut in youre finger so that the gloves will protect you.Hope my advice helps.
The best thing about gloves is the consistency they provide. Even if it's really hot, humid, cold or dry, it won't affect your play. One thing is that grinds that use fingernails like finger spins, thumb grinds and talon grinds but grinds that use your skin such as palm and finger grinds will see a benefit, especially on yoyos without a blasted or some form of matte finish. You also won't be able to feel the string as well, but how much this affects you will depend on the tricks you do.
nictheperson That's true. For grinds it's excellent but for finger spins they are not that good.I also use the gloves if im learning a trick that requires the finger to move fast while touching the string(example:boomerang)I tend to burn my finger while learning. What I do is use the gloves until im ready to do the trick without them.Gloves are really useful for plenty of stuff.
yotricks very well, im still going to buy it :) also i thought this was the funniest review ever despite still being very informative. You guys did a great job at this video. Also do all of the current colours in your store of the atlas have the matte finish now?
Just aim for the outer edge of the yoyo, instead of aiming for the center. Before long this will become second nature and you will no longer find that the width of your yoyo gets in the way.
I don't think so, but it might. In my experience, most yoyos that are not designed specifically for responsive play have bearing seats that are too tall to hold a SPEC bearing when it is screwed together.
