Check out the new-ish M Night movie, Knock at the Cabin, he's got a lead role in that. I'm a bit of an M Night mark regardless of the sometimes varying quality lol, but I think it's worth checking out and DB is great in it. He's great in Blade Runner 2049 as well altho a much smaller part.

The rock has box offices hits but Dave just keeps turning it up a notch in each of his performances. Dave doesn’t miss. Honestly I feel Dave is a way better actor than the rock. His performances speak for themselves. That’s just one persons opinion

The Rock is a persona for me, he pretty much plays The Rock in different circumstances in each film. Dave can play The Rock type roles too, but I also think he's striving (and succeeding) in trying to prove himself as a proper actor, not just an action star.

@@jockkardashian.9407Yeah, along with that stupid ass "no fight loss" the Rock has in all his contracts. Now I'm trying to think if Dave has a role where his character didn't get 💀 or his ass beaten.

Dwayne has had an early advantage to Dave and John when it comes to blockbuster films and that's why he's a giant. Dave and John are catching up to him and are becoming the big blockbuster actors that they are. Dwayne did eventually get into Black Adam but DC or rather WB really screwed the pooch there so his best hope is with Disney. I'd love to see John Cena go on Marvel too since they're more successful than WB when it comes to comic cinematic universes.

Bautista's portrayal of Rabban is actually amazing, he was able to take a one-dimensional character in the book (which are pretty rare in Dune) and make a very memorable performance out of it.
I love how painfully stupid Rabban is, he needs everything explained to him but yet he knows how dangerous his situation is as one of the Baron's lackeys. Even though he's blood related to the Baron, he knows that won't save him if he steps out of line. And all of that is conveyed without saying it.

Ripley was honestly even more impressive because several of them (Hoffman, Blanchett, Law) hadn’t made the big time at the time of casting. It was assumed Minghella cast the hottest young actors by reputation but no, it was insight.

I'm surprised that Dave didn't bring up his makeup process for Drax, when talking about Stellan. Dave knows a little of what it's like to have to get into makeup early and do essentially a whole job- before the real job even starts. They managed to streamline that whole-torso Drax makeup as well as they could by the end, but it was still a painstaking and lengthy process! All those raised tattoo patterns, and all the gray makeup, was a big job!
