  • In the Summer of 1937, more than 25,000 Scouts and Scouters gathered in Washington DC for the first National Jamboree. One of these Scouts, Warren Charles Baldwin, wrote several letters to his mother to tell her about his Jamboree experience. These types of first-hand accounts are a great way to really get a personal feeling for what an event was like even one that happened more than 80 years ago.
Recently Warren's daughter donated many of her father's Scouting memorabilia to the National Scouting Museum so this will not be the only time we learn about Warren or the first National Jamboree.
