While many people are thinking of what the eclipse means for the future, it actually reminded us of something that God did in the past.
In Joshua 10, God made the sun stand still. This was not a normal eclipse in the normal course of the rotation of the sun and moon, this was a supernatural miracle.
What's even more amazing is that God did all of this in response to the prayer of a man.

This weekend I got to visit Compass Bible Church in Treasure Valley, Idaho! Before the service me and others from the church gathered to pray for their future. I was encouraged as I prayed with them to think that Jesus is doing what he said. He is keeping his promise to build his church. The church had doubled since the last time I was there. They moved into a bigger space to fit more souls. Sunday morning they had baptisms where I got to hear people testify of how Jesus saved them! Jesus said he would do it and we are watching it happen. This encourages me to pray with faith. It encourages me to ask God to save more souls and to send out more laborers into the harvest here in California and in Idaho, for his name sake!
my prayer life needs some revamping
A goal I had when coming to Compass HB was to learn how to pray well. We won’t have confidence in the effectiveness of our prayers if we don’t practice. Discipline yourself and get into the secret place. Open the word and pray over it. John says that if we ask anything according to God’s will .... he hears us! And you have the privilege of praying to your Creator who predestined you for glory! Praise Him!
Amen, Pastor Bobby! What a privilege to have been a part of planting Compass HB in 2014 and getting to see God show His glory in countless ways as He has built His church. I am praying that God will raise up highly committed participants at Compass HB as many of our mature brothers and sisters leave to plant Compass Long Beach. Each of us has been given a gift to use to build up the body of Christ at our local church. I’m praying for more builders!!
I am praying for God to lead all of us out of our seats and into His service
I'm praying that obedience would be our #1 thing (out of a love for Jesus) and that we would be EARNEST to obey.
A prayer that my husband and I having been praying for some time now is, after the LB plant happens, where else would he want us to serve at Compass HB? We want to make disciples and see more people get saved! James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”
Praying that God keeps building his church and saving more souls.
I am encouraged to pray with faith for God to raise up more LABORERS! Jesus told his disciples to pray EARNESTLY for this! I am asking God to save souls, yes, but then to make all of us at our church who are disciples into DISCIPLE-MAKING DISCIPLES🙏🏼🔥 May the most fruitful days of ministry at Compass HB, and even in the United States of America, all be AHEAD of us!

Re: The Eclipse- I happened to be on a layover in Indianapolis yesterday & “saw” the Total Eclipse of the Sun … very “cool” 🌙. .. 4 minutes of darkness and back to a bright sunny day .. amazing! /// Great PRAYER encouragement Bobby from the book of Joshua - and yes I’ve been praying for a specific situation …and will keep PRAYING too for “Scripture of the Day” RUclips channel-that literal millions of lives would be reached thru this channel for the Glorious Gospel …and hearts & minds would be forever changed for CHRIST (repentance& faith) by the Gospel efforts of Compass Bible Church - Huntington Beach, CA & the SOTD Team..! 1 Corinthians 10:13 is a regular promise in prayer thinking about how God always provides a way of escape, we’re no longer slaves to sin but have freedom in Christ!
Praying for more fruit of the spirit.
This promise is where the rubber meets the road for me right now-
i'm going to pray for the character to handle blessings, to learn the lesson the trials that God is trying to teach me, and to be a blessing to others w all blessings . Also to forgive all who need to be forgiven

Daily prayers are very important. I have a prayer journal and write prayers there for reminders, I didn't think about doing this daily. I always thought there is no right or wrong way to pray...so Just Pray 🙏🏾
As always, the the word of the Lord goes straight to our hearts... God has promised/told me "DO NOT FEAR" ..., so I'm going to pray to the Lord to turn my fears into trust and faith. Resist the devil and he will flee. Diligently seek the Lord and I will find him. Do not grow weary in doing good for I will reap a harvest in due time... And countless of other promises that God has made to each of us. All of his word is for all of us. Truly thank you so much for caring for us. ✝️📖🕊️🙏💛
