Maybe invite, interview and audit Andrew through and for OTK, since all main members and staff seem to be more stationary activists and adding a field agent who is used to going out there toe to toe with crazy people could be a real benefit that complements the organization.
This is the best thing that could have happened to Andrew. He will become way more famous thanks to the Streisand effect. And I also think his existing Patrons will bring some class action lawsuit since the money they donate to Andrew is being stolen.

My experience and professional advice to any creator in the arts and entertainment industy. Even if you get a lawyer/Agent, use diligence, common sense and educate yourself on basic IP, Copywrite, and Contracts law. It's your future.
It’s not scummy. Andrew was still making 20k a month as he said in an interview. It’s a business not a charity, they invested in him for returns. If anything he screwed them ofer by abruptly leaving and they are being nice bit suing him

Kinda crazy that a contract like that can be legally binding. It's one thing if the company helps the person in question every step of the way but in this case they just gave Andrew 4000 dollars and a van. The company is taking a huge cut of a big pile of money for years after a relatively small investment. Andrew is all gas no brakes, without him the channel is effectively dead. Legally okay or not it's obvious to anyone that what went down is morally wrong.
That's pretty much the end for Andrew.
I wonder what they will do with the channel, but I'm still looking forward to it.

Though, atm, at the school I'm working at, we're seriously considering starting classes about these things to at least give our students some basic knowledge of life after school, so to speak (or even during, because when they have a side job it's also important that they know their rights).

I've seen too much to believe we are the greatest now, but we could be. That's what hurts the most.

Its hard for newcomers to understand the contracts, alot of people in entertainment specifically got screwed by their earlier contracts. I remember Pokimane made a segment warning all new streamers about the first contract deals they get and make sure they are OK with the terms, which is not most of the cases specially when big and stablished orgs contact those small streamers and they agree in excitements.

the contracts are predatory, but that doesnt exclude the signer from signing. i try and tell people if you dont understand a contract, pay a lawyer to read and explain it to you, might cost you 100-150 but it saves you years of time and either a ton of money or it didnt matter cuz you made nothing

I feel bad for him but, you can get a camper for a pretty decent price. At the beginning of covid, I scored a fixer upper for about $350. My intention was to use it as a home office but after restoring it, I got a pretty big offer for It couldn't refuse.

The majority of channels I am subbed to, I no longer watch. But I never felt like unsubscribing, because even though I no longer watch those creators' content, I still enjoyed their videos back when I was watching and staying a subscriber doesn't hurt me, but might help them a little to become/keep being successful.
But as soon as I heard the All Gas No Brakes thing, I immediatly unsubscribed. Fuck them. Andrew's gonna come back and he will grow a bigger channel easily. He IS All Gas No Brakes. Nobody gives a shit about Doing Things Media.

Haven’t watched the full video yet but I suspect if he made a new channel without the ties to those guys he could probably recover. If he made a Kickstarter to get a new van and some things I’m pretty sure he would get the money from his fans. Unless his contract said he couldn’t do that.

I really like to hear everything from these people. Even when it's full of shit. Just try to picture it in your head without judging. I'ts just awesome to listen to. They have such great sense of purpose and enjoyment with these things. A better feeling than that 95% will have on the world.

The reason was actually more to do with creative differences rather than money. Specifically, they wanted him to stop all political and conspiracy content and to only do "Party Content". He did ask for more money in the end, but the start of the tension was Andrew wanting to do more journalism. So the company is greedy and stupid.
Basic principle of opportunity cost squandered. The company should have continued to invest in andrew with a new contract both parties agreed upon.
I don't get how - in an age where the information about these kinds of contracts is pretty well known - someone signs a contract involving money without getting a lawyer or at least reading it. Oh well, the guy is young, so it will be a hard lesson learned.
They (Doing Things Media) made their instagram page private, because I know for a fact anything they post is being bombarded by people bashing them over All Gas No Brakes.

I think its funny that they both acknowledge that the dude leaving the investor will have nothing and be in a shit situation but at the same time think the investor shouldn't reap profit from payrolling a gig that barely floats but is good content without them.
