Tiny little reminder about golden mewtwo. While you can get him in any of the packs, if you get a god pack while opening charizard, you can only get golden charizard. So mewtwo will only show up in a god pack opened from a mewtwo pack
When you had a Staryu active, and another on the bench with Articuno, it would've been a smart move to power the Articuno, tank a shot with the active Staryu and then EX the healthy one. Tanking damage with a (one prize) Active to power an EX on the bench is usually a great strategy especially early game. You can afford to lose the one prize (especially if you have 2 of them) and then come out really strong with a fully powered, fully healed EX to hit first. When you hit first, you can 1 or 2 shot almost anyone and they will need to retreat or sabrina you (or maybe apply a status effect) if they cant one shot you first. i win way more battles when I power my bench. (the exception to this is like an aggro blaine deck, you'll want to power in their face and never stop applying pressure) I've really been enjoying your videos! Would love to see more battles! Keep it up!

6 days late. But at 23:55 best course of action in my humble opinion would have been to play Misty and hope for heads. You would have only needed one. You retreat and then use your remaining water energy to Blizzard his Poliwhirl. (Obviously you get more than one heads you’re set) Now that’s assuming you ACTUALLY got heads. Otherwise there wasn’t much you could’ve done. Just adding my 2 cents because it seems you never thought of that and maybe it can be another way to look at things for ya. Awesome vid as always ❤

I don't like to backseat, but since you asked if there is anything you could do I will help you out. At 22:14 you say that you need to get the Articuno out of there, but actually you have good winning chances if you don't do that. After you kill his Poliwhirl with Blizzard (for your second point) he will not be able to kill your Articuno with Frogandier since it only does 30 dmg (assuming no Giovanni), and if he evolves to Greninja he doesn't have enough energy to attack (assuming no Misty or instant tails) and the ability alone is only 20 dmg. Since attacking is always the last action he can not both attack with Frogandier and evolve to use the ability of Greninja. Then you simply kill his Frogandier/Greninja with another Blizzard on your next turn and get your third point. On a unrelated note Starmie has no retreat cost, which would have been useful for you to know in many of the games in the video.

Hey Jon, just as a heads up, Starmie ex has no retreat cost. So in that first match had you evolved Staryu into Starmie and retreated you could have avoided the possible defeat after he Sabrina'd your Staryu into the Active Spot.
Video Idea: You open a multi only after winning a game and the multi can only be from the same packs that you got the majority of the deck that you used to battle!! (The amount of multis we get to see depends on Jon’s amount of wins 😂)
been rockin a deck similar to yours but instead of having so many trainers i have 2 of each of Greninja evolution to deal more damage from the sidelines. That deck got me all the wins for the event, super strong in the right hands! (edit: i dont have Farfetch'd in the deck i used)

I beat the event within an hour with Exeggutor EX! 2 exeggcute, 2 exeggutor ex, 2 caterpie, 2 metapod, 2 butterfree, 2 X Speeds, 2 pokeballs, 2 professors research, two Erika, and 2 Sabrina
What got me 5 in a row was my charizard arcanine deck, 2 charmander evo lines, 2 arcanine evo lines , 2 moltres 2 poke balls , 2 pot of greeds , 2 Sabrina’s , 2 Blaine an x speed and potion.
I've done it first try. :D First match with a experimental Alakazam Hypno Deck because I accidently didn't switch decks after fighting the event cpu (with the sleep mission) and then won four in a row with Blaine Rapidash and Ninetails. The last match was against my counter a Artiucuno ex Starmie ex deck, but I was second and he bricked his Misty with an instant Tails so I closely won.
Jon when you were facing the poliwrath you didn’t have to retreat that articuno with 40 hp left. You could have smacked the poliwrath for 80 and killed it. The most the frogadier could have done to you the next turn was 30 with drip and possibly KO you with Giovanni but he only had two cards in hand so maybe a risk youre willing to take. The evolution to greninja wouldn’t have killed the articuno in the active either because they did not have the energy for mist slash and water shuriken wouldn’t have KOed either!
I think I would have risked killing the poliwhirl in the 3rd match and force him to have the Giovanni or flip a heads with misty to even attack with greninja. It was coming down to luck either way from what I saw.
24:59 was difficult to watch. You could have won if you retreated into staru, and then next turn use misty on your 100HP articuno (get at least two heads) attach a water energy, knock out Geninja, next turn poli only does 80 to you, then you blizzard to knock out poli. GGs.
He could have won that game if he used Blizzard at 22:50, but at 24:59 it was already too late. Even if he retreated his opponent would kill the Articuno with the Geninja ability.
Hey jon I dont know if you still do video ideas but for the next solo battle event (like the venasure one) can you do a video were the video doesnt end until you all the 5 cards in all languages? I dont think its a crazy video or a one you will have fun doing it (since you need to play alot of battles which takes a very long time), but consider how sometimes its annoying to get that one card no matter how common it is I think it would be a great video what do you think?
