    After watching this, I also got the plastic balls and am so happy with them. They're not too loud, and they fluff stuff! So, less ironing. That always makes me happy. Thank you.

    I've known about using tennis balls for drying comforters and pillows. Without tennis balls the comforter and pillows will be ruined as the stuffing will be clumpy and will have to be thrown away; with tennis balls they will come out fluffy and wonderful. I've always wondered why that was. Always thought I'd have a ask a physicist how/why tennis balls work. You answered that question - air pockets.
    FYI - Three tennis balls from the sporting goods section costs about one dollar; one tennis ball from the pet dog section about $3; one from the pet store about $5.

    I recently switched to wool dryer balls. I was using store bought dryer sheets but I read somewhere that "to get your towels more absorbent, dont use dryer sheets. Dryer sheets leave a film on your towels reducing their absorbency".
    So, I no longer use dryer sheets and I stopped using fabric softener during the wash cycle. I use vinegar in place of the liquid fabric softener.
    My towels are now big and fluff and very absorbent. :)

    As a grown, middle aged man who knows more about dryer balls than I do about neurology (I'm a machinist if that makes the analogy clearer) I felt like I just bought them for a reason yet didn't know why. They were $1 and I wasn't sure if I had to stuff dryer sheets into them or what because there's no directions or user guidance on the packaging. Thanks for explaining this because I was too embarrassed to ask the clerk how to use them and your example made perfect sense. Take care.

    I happened to go to use the dryer in my building. I took out the load that was in there and saw those balls.
    I feel lucky that the owner of the clothes came to get them right at the same time. I asked him about the balls thinking he was going to tell me they were to catch lint. He said it was to help drying, which is suuuuper nice. Our dryers need more than one cycle to completely dry clothes for most loads. He said that he stopped having to do multiple cycles to get his clothes dry once he started using these.

    Do they stop the static ? I use those cling free bounce dryer sheets. Id rather find a permanent solution than buy something every single time, and it's not really a cost issue for me it's a waste issue.

      I can tell you my experience which is I have not had static since I have used these. I am not sure if that is because of the dryer balls but I honestly have not had any. I hope that helps. Thank You for watching.

    Do I need 2 dryer balls or will 1 work effectively?

    • @cmcolemanhome
      @cmcolemanhome  5 лет назад +2

      I personally like to use 2 or more depending on what I am drying. I do not think 1 would be enough to get enough movement between the items in the dryer to see any help. Thank You for watching.

    Would the plastic dryer ball melt? Do I dry on low or high heat? Is high heat safe for the ball? Please relpy

    • @cmcolemanhome
      @cmcolemanhome  5 лет назад

      These are designed for the heat of the dryer so they should not melt under normal dryer use high or low heat. I personally have used them in both. Thank You for watching.

    Don’t use essential oils on the natural dryer balls - they can have a low flammability temperature, and dryers can get quite hot.

      There are special lint removing smaller fluffy balls for the dryer, I've seen those once in Germany. I don't know where you could find them in your area, but you might find them online, I mean there's literally everything online nowadays. Hope this helps, even though 1 year later.

      I know this is late to the game, but look into Fur Zapper. It's not a 100% solution, but does help.

    Dryer balls didn't work for me. Tried 3 wool balls and did nothing, still had static too. Then I added 3 more balls, this time aluminum foil. Still did not do anything and still static. I'll have to try something more bouncy or harder. Otherwise I'm convinced they don't do anything.

    • @cmcolemanhome

      I have not used the wool ones as I am allergic and the aluminum foil thing I have heard of but not tried. These are the ones I have tried and like them. Thank You for watching.

    • @cmcolemanhome
