My first reaction is you were reeling it in too fast for the fish to see the bait but then I guess the bottom right there is nothing but hard rocky wreath and if your lure touches the bottom it will be instantly snagged on the coral reef I'm assuming. Do you know what the gear ratio is on that reel? And also do you use a braided line? And what pound test is your line?
i set already my drag tight, so that if there's a big strike it will not snagged on the coral immediately. By the way i use popper lure its a top water lure
