He set the standard for us all. I taught this technique for many years. He simply was and is still, the best. A great artist, and a wonderful human being.
I first discovered Bill's work in 1975 (through Walter T Forster's Publications). I was already an artist then and living in New Zealand and was painting the lovely scenery of the South Island. I tried the "Magic" painting style that Bill brought into the world and started painting my New Zealand scenes in that style. The manager of the art gallery that I sold my work through in Auckland was really impressed and so from then on, all my work followed Bill's brilliant style. I owe him a great deal! A Lovely human being!! Thomas Lund.
Hi there, I like the way Bill expresses in words the painting which he fires up on to the canvas, and the techniques to be used to do the great works of art. Falling Leaves is yet another great work of art. Thank you Bill.
YES! Definitely going to paint a scene for next week's paintings videos, done my scape today, bit of Cobra Kai done for today's Coffee Break Painting all uploaded and sorted. With leaves on too! So nice to sit back and relax watching almighty Bill with a beer after a long day!
I was a happy tree my branches and leaves swayin in the breeze and you could sit under my shade and have a glass of lemonade and be at ease Please help yourself I wont hurt you im your friend I can help you breath and I can feed you too With my fruity toot toot I was a happy tree with my roots planted deep and here I will be for the rest of my life Not troubled by pain of strife its a happy life even when the rain beats down and the snow weighs heavy on my limbs as the daylight dims Cold lonely nights I am here for you A mighty tree strong and brave But me you dont save You cut me down or burn me to the ground not a branch nor leaf be found why do you hurt me so and not let me grow I was a happy tree until they came and they really gave me the blame for being a tree you cut me up and make planks out of me make chairs and house and pretty things out of me but still you dont love me and I cant be free from this ground you see and some one made a door out of me I was a hippy tree but not any more since i became a door open and close for you and keep you safe just as I said i would when you were under me
Woah, that got a little dark there for a second there until you got to the end when the tree keeps you safe, as it said it would.... So, it's still a happy ending...
Bill gave us courage. He said " Pick Up That Brush And Fire In"! You find the demon " You can't and the power will chase it away! You can do Anything and you Will Be Successful!
It's basically a 50/50 mix of Titanium White and safflower oil. You can use linseed oil, but it yellows over time more than safflower oil. You also don't want it to be too shiny, so maybe use a little less oil than paint. It should dry to a matte finish. If you use too much oil, it'll dry pretty shiny.
The " I love you " in the end made my day

Always a joy to watch.....started watching Alexander in the early 80's on Channel 11 Chicago.
After a 12 hour day at work, there's nothimg like Bill singing softly and talking about dogs frolicking in falling leaves to make me smile.
Thank you Bill for showing us how the masters do it. It’s just wonderful.
Another beautiful painting from Bill.
Absolutely stunning Bill, so gorgeously colourful for a beautiful Autumn chilly day...

I was a happy tree
my branches and leaves
swayin in the breeze
and you could sit under my shade
and have a glass of lemonade
and be at ease
Please help yourself
I wont hurt you
im your friend
I can help you
breath
and I can feed you too
With my fruity toot toot
I was a happy tree
with my roots planted deep
and here I will be
for the rest of my life
Not troubled
by pain of strife
its a happy life
even when the rain beats down
and the snow weighs heavy
on my limbs
as the daylight dims
Cold lonely nights
I am here for you
A mighty tree
strong and brave
But me you dont save
You cut me down
or burn me to the ground
not a branch nor leaf be found
why do you hurt me so
and not let me grow
I was a happy tree
until they came
and they really gave me the blame
for being a tree
you cut me up
and make planks out of me
make chairs and house
and pretty things out of me
but still you dont love me
and I cant be free
from this ground you see
and some one made a door out of me
I was a hippy tree
but not any more
since i became a door
open and close for you
and keep you safe
just as I said i would
when you were under me

Bill is a great example of courage and I’m so grateful he worked hard to inspire it in others!
Get that brush loaded and fire it in!
I made it too I wish I could show him or Diane Andre
You can show the BA group on FB.
is there a way to make my own liquid white?

I know I've said this before, but what kind of person "dislikes" these?? I mean, is that the most serious cry for help ever, or what?
Aaawww he loves me :3
Ahhh....tone and hue....
