I always noticed that the Clint Clobber opening fanfare theme sounds like some of the music scores heard on "The Flintstones," despite different music directors, even. I also have always been aware that both Clint Clobber and Fred Flintstone are based off of Jackie Gleason's Ralph Kramden character.
Hoyt Curtin did the music for The Flintstones, and other Hanna-Barbera cartoons, and sometimes UPA. I don't think he ever worked for Terrytoons. Phil Scheib was longtime Terrytoons music director. Both were accomplished musicians. Unfortunately Scheib was locked into formula arrangements under Paul Terry. He got to shine a bit when Gene Deitch became creative director.
@@avp217 I notice the similarities in style of music between the "Clint Clobber" and "The Flintstones" cartoons, despite each music director never working for the other one's respective studio. Both series seem to have a low-note horn instrument playing. Perhaps this can be associated with heavy-set guys who raise their voices a lot?
Originally, Terrytoons WERE owned by 20th Century-FOX until CBS television bought the cartoon lineup. CBS and FOX had formed an alliance up to the 1980's. Viacom then bought the entire Terrytoon lineup.
No, that was spliced on to this guy's print. It's very obvious. You can hear the track begin from the movie it was lifted from. The cartoons didn't come with the Fox logo on. Never did. I know, I ran them in theatres.
This by far is a truly funny cartoon with that guy, Clint Clobber. He's a real riot!
Fact: Happy Ed was modeled after Ed Sullivan.
wonderful, wonderful, animation. cute video.
Originally released in November 1958.
6:42 Oh! That chime reminds me; I have an idea!
20th Century Fox (now 20th Century Studios) is a division of The Walt Disney Company.

Georges Van Parys - Mr Topaze (1961) Main Title
With the original 20th Century Fox logo intact! Darn it, Paramount Pictures, for deleting the mention of 20th Century Fox on each Terrytoons cartoon!
