This is a prime example of how to turn a bad song into something good It just depends on what has to be fixed Moving from the first chorus into the "Slow down" section until it slows into the cringy "Good Boy" part really works The original song just stalled while this one at maximum slows down. It's like charging up for a next attack (I know this is late especially after all I typed before but If I'm being honest as much as I think AWMH remade is the best thing to come out of this remade album you made, InvisKid is the best example of just how much work you poured to make this sound good
Right, like I thought staying on that beat during the good boy part just made it more cringe, and it didn't really compliment what James was doing with his voice. It's still kinda cringe, but I think making that part more melodic gives the song more life. And All Within My Hands is sooo good. It's still 8 minutes long but it's so heavy and the new ending is 👌. Really happy with how that one turned out.
@@MichaelSheaAudio The only thing that could have made it better was hitting the ride or softly hitting the crash, making the clever half-time feel fuller Still, in a part that shouldnt have even existed, you made it 50x better
As a rare vanilla Invisible Kid enjoyer, this cover 100% improves the song so much. the bridge in the original is the only part i didnt really like but this version improves it so much its unreal. this rocks!
@@MichaelSheaAudio I genuinely love the breakdown here, it was so silly in the original but you somehow gave it depth. Question (not a criticism): was there a reason you didn't add a solo to Frantic? I know they did one live when they'd perform it.
@@edzitron5848 I didn't really watch any of the live performances of the songs other than the rehearsal videos to help me learn some parts, so I don't know what changes they made over the years. I didn't add anything to Frantic because I don't think it needed anything else and I had already cut the song down so much, though I could have kept a little more in hindsight, but I'm happy with it as is. Also, I'm not a great guitar player, so the solos in like St. Anger and Some Kind Of Monster are literally like pieced together, so the less I did the better. 😂
@@MichaelSheaAudio i don't know if i'd say you're not a great guitar player, you at the very least have a good enough ear to know what this album needed - this is getting a bit galaxy brain, but I wish Metallica had leaned more into S&M's very satisfying, melodic, melodramatic side, and you nailed that with this. Genuinely love it. Thanks for making it.
@@edzitron5848 I'm a limited guitar player. I can't shred like Kirk, so I wasn't going to try too hard. I'm better at the melodic leads like in this song or Sweet Amber. And since there are no solos at all in the original album, I didn't want to overdo it. 😛 Thank you though!
previously, i heard the 'full ablum' version, i guess you took it down. Upon relistening to the songs twice over the past several days, I still think its as amazing as i did the first time when i originally left a comment (dont remember my exact words) However, its just not Lars' drumming style, but it would be great to hear his adaptation, this is definately better than the original, but i miss some of the elements of the original, not specifically to this song, listening to the whole album over once again ;) ITS JUST THAT GOOD!
original comment: As someone who has often felt like I was the only person who liked the album around the time of its release, I even think this is an excellent remake of the songs! I hope Metallica hears it for themselves at some point and perhaps incorporate some things they are influenced by. I love some of these additions, like in Unnamed Feeling, just WOW! The drums don’t strike me like I hoped, and not really Lars’ playing style either, but I still like it all!
@@AMReyVenz Yes, as you found, the full album video is still up, people wanted individual videos and instrumentals so I made them. I'm not a fan of Lars' drumming on St. Anger, like the sound of the drums aside, I don't like what he played in a lot of parts and I didn't think they fit the riffs very well. Since you like the original and you're familiar with it, it's understandable that you feel like it's missing something, like something's not right. I'm that was with re-recordings and remixes as well. I often stick with the original version of a song even if a re-recorded version is "better". The New Reign by Born of Osiris is one of my favourite albums, but the re-recording they did a few years ago doesn't sound right to me. We all have our preferences. Thanks for the kind words!
@@dl_k1n994 Thanks! I've been programming drums since like 2007 or 2008, plus I can play drums a bit, so it helps get a more realistic sound from programmed drums. I also mixed them to sound more raw, I didn't want to make them really modern.
@MichaelSheaAudio yeah well the sound I think fits st. Anger perfectly. How it should've been, and if it was like this I even think it'd be loved by a lot more fans and no one would hate it
Thanks for stopping by, and I appreciate the support! 🥰 Be sure to check the description for playlist and download links!
Good job
Fun fact; This is Metallica's most downtuned song, at a A Flat tuning
Had to break out the 8 string for this one damn song. XD
@@MichaelSheaAudio That explains the monstrous bass 😂

That bass is fucking monstrous holy shit
This is definitely one of Metallica's best songs
The bridge on the original: 🤮
The bridge on this cover: * *cringing and headbanging* *
thats an improvement at least lol

So do you have your own band that you do these covers with or did you play each instrument individually and added it all together
