Had to laugh. The female commentator was trying to see us that Dorothy had made an error when she did not...yet never even made a sound when Roslyn made an obvious one. To be fair I like them both, but feel Dorothy was the better performer.
I agree. Even though I love Dorothy Hamil to this day Rosalynn had to compete not only on the ice but also with the legend of Dorothy. This program is incredible. Every time I hear this song I actually think of this performance and the recording artist Angela Bofill second.
I totally agree. I am glad she atleast got to win the prestigious Challenge of Champions this year as it was really her best year of skating as a pro. Just a shame she wasnt rewarded with the win here too. And I am usually not a Sumners fan at all but she really put it all together this season.
It is really unfortunate since someone like Kristi Yamaguchi was also a legend but was judged fairly and others were allowed to beat her when they outskated her in pro events (eg- Midori Ito and Yuka Sato).
@@JairTheLiteraryMasturbator World Pros was rigged. Manley, Lloyd Eisler, and Isabelle Brasseur and even Ekaterina Gordeeva (who admits she and Sergei were both overscored and underscored at times, depending what was supposed to happen) say so in their books. I trust them.
I so appreciated the time, effort and artistry Roz put into coming up with a huge variety of numbers in so many different styles over her pro years. But it was like she could not be allowed to win a pro competition because she didn't win the Olympics and she didn't try triple jumps as a pro. And that gave judges an excuse to really knock her down if she popped an axel. Unforgivable! Take heart, Roz, the fans appreciated you regardless.
As an amateur I agree. I hated Rosalynn as an amateur and loved Elaine, particularly when in shape. Elaine was a shitty pro skater though, she just didnt seem into it at all. Rosalynn really blossomed as a pro and was far more enjoyable than she was an amateur.
She had said he never liked pro skating. Remember, she retrained and did her original repertoire including her triples in 1994/95 long after Sumners had retired them. OF course, the one I'd like to see most of all is Tonya Harding.
beautiful
@2:40 ....popping that intended double-axel into a single was what she did so often as an amateur.
I wish my fellow men of culture could see this

Was totally robbed of winning this event.

I'd rather see Elaine Zayak

I wonder why Elaine never liked pro skating? And if that is the case why she didnt stay amateur longer than she did.
