I had actually planned on releasing this in October of last year a few days prior to the premier of BLADE RUNNER 2049, but I missed the deadline and lost track of the video till recently. Upon recent reflection I’ve come to realize it’s still valid as ever, as it gives us an in depth look at the incredible world Ridley Scott had put together.
Hope you enjoy the video, and please let me know your thoughts on the new film and if you would like a video on the recent BLADE RUNNER 2049?!?! :)
FilmComicsExplained good job man. First Blade Runner was amazing. The second one was breathtaking. One of the best movie ever made.
FilmComicsExplained Blade Runner 2049, is one of the most visually stunning film's I have ever watched. It's a shame that the movie didn't do that well at the Box office.
FilmComicsExplained can you do next video quarantine 2 terminal please
I agree guys, it was one of the best films of 2017. And as for the box office, yes it is a shame that thought provoking sci fi films like this tank at the box office in favour of retread worn out flicks. It also literally followed the same formula as the first Blade Runner film in that it bombed in North America, but was quite successful worldwide :)
FilmComicsExplained Yes do one on 2049!! Both films are a couple of the many greatest films ever, and 2049 is one of the best sequels ever.
Blade runner was so ahead of it's time. I saw the second one before watching the original and I was amazed at it.
I agree Christian!
Err Ok your very young . Imagine being 18 barely got a video player And BLADE RUNNER is out on video Also ALIEN .. get me It blew our heads sideways . Pure English / European production ideas 💡 etc American money . And they moaned like hell When for the money it is the most $$ for Bill out of many many movies ..
@@rogerpartner1622 yeah I’m young I’m 21 lol
Same. Now that I’ve seen both, I feel like they work as companion pieces to each other. Each benefit equally from the other.
Idk what Roger talkin about but I'm older than you and I never seen any of em. Only reason I'm here is because I read that blade runner is apart of the Alien Franchise which I'm a fan of. I believe my dad had all the blade runner movies and I didn't care for em. Age don't mean nothin. Watch what your into. He probably didn't see EVERY movie before him so he just as young to certain movies as you are. Then again, I've watched movies that were black and white. I'm 28 and I'm about to watch it now. Wish me luck lol
The 1st movie was supposed to be set in the year 2017, the sequel was release on 2017, dear God are we gonna wait until 2049 for the 3rd movie? 😅
Blade Runner takes place during the year 2019, not 2017.
@@mitrooper "supposed" being the epitome word there.
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire of the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die..." Drokking badass monolog.
Daimon X " You've done a man's job sir...!!! "
" I guess you through than huh ????? "
" Finished "
" IT'S TO BAD SHE WON'T LIVE
BUT THAN AGAIN WHO DOES !!!!!!!!! "
Tk4211 You absolutely butchered that with your lack of understanding basic English language. Vile 🤮
@@-VaLaK I'm hear too years later to ask why your so rude
Lmao fake typos
Both films were wonderful imo. The cinematography and specifically the short films were just phenomenal. Great video as usual👍🏻
One of the few reboot/remake attempts that fully lived up to its potential
Love the original Blade Runner BUT HATE the sequel ... the sequel 2049 takes all the first movie's cool characters turn them into uncool uncles and aunties concerned about a long lost child, Deckard wears jeans and t-shirt ??? CGI Rachel look so dowdy ... Gaff so bloated and sitting in old folks home wearing some sort of nurse uniform rather than sleek getup ... its no longer sci fi, more like melodramatic soap drama. And its emotionally hollow during 99% of the movie except for maybe the 2 moments (hologram girl gets destroyed and K laying down on stairs) but 2 emotional scenes cannot make up for how emotionally hollow the rest of the movie is.. Lazy art direction too, how can Las Vegas be so empty without any lamp posts, big advertisment displays, road signages etc ? How can the casino be so well kept with barely any broken windows or lose cables etc if no one is upkeeping the whole place and why is there still electricity running the light shows when they should have cut off the power supply ?
Omg I love the Blade Runner background ambient time music and themes.
2049 is one of the all-time best sequels ive seen. easily my fav movie of last year and the director you could tell has such love for the original. Actually better than the first.
When the movie Blade Runner came out in 1982 I saw it in walk-in theaters 17 times by myself in the Dallas Metroplex. It was visually stunning and had an incredible soundtrack. There was nothing even close to this film back then and it blew my mind. It still does.
Thanks to everyone who made this film come to life.
Great video, now I’ve gotta go and rewatch the first one again!
The chilling music from the film is a great touch
I cant help but love this movie. It sparked my passion of detective noir (yes) synth and (retro) futurism
My favorite movie ever
My favorite movie of all time, I can't imagine anyone else than Vangelis scoring it, I loved the work of a French comic artist in the 80's with a very similar cyberpunk style (Edit: Jean ‘Moebius’ Giraud), 40 years later I still enjoy it like the first time.
Definitely do a video for Blade Runner 2049!!! I absolutely love these films, the dark future of earth portrayed here is one of the best ever. Excellent video, keep on rocking!
Thanks Luke!
@@filmcomicsexplained
I would appreciate if someone be honest and do a video talking about how bad the sequel 2049 is ... its shocking a movie like this is upheld by current people as a masterpiece, it shows most people are shallow and cannot see the flaws of the movie just because they are suckers for visuals of big empty spaces ...
@@filmcomicsexplained
But the original Blade Runner is a true masterpiece in ever yaspect of story telling and sci fi movie making ... just not the sequel.

Ohhh I was wondering why you were saying "in anticipation for this movie" because it was released almost 8 months ago here in the US
great video once again
Perfect as always, you have essentially covered almost all my favourite films now!
I like the backgroud music it fits with the video
O man this is a sci fi masterpiece thank you for reviewing this !
Everytime you upload a video, I always have to watch it, you do such a great job. I always enjoyed the lore of the movies and you explain it very Well; keep it up bud.
Thanks mate :)
I don't know why most of the american people visit the cinema with a vicious thirst for action like it's all about Schwartzy and Stallonely blasting goons and saving America while young and old directors try different approaches to speak to the viewer and reveal the human nature as accurate and anticaliphillic as possible. Movies such as the old and new Blade Runner should not be lost like tears in rain
Cristian Socol most people are stupid cattle
Art is not for everybody
Great video brother, it's given me the urge to watch both movies again lol
Both Blade Runner films we’re phenomenal
Blade runner 2049 taught me to NEVER READ OR WATCH REVIEWS of movies i am excited for. It got so hyped up and over praised that i couldnt help but build it up in my mind. I watched it and was obviously let down. If i had not seen the reviews it may have been on of my favourite movies of the year. I plan to rewatch it soon to get a better judge of its quality. Also i want to say that i discovered your videos a few hours ago and they seem to be exactly what i was looking for. The run down of viruses in media is such a great idea and i really like those videos.
My favorite movie of all time.
I Like Blade Runner And Blade Runner 2049 becuse Is A Grest Sci-fi Acition Movie!
chalat kaosumlee Are there only two films? And or books? Trying to find a new series to get attached too

Great vid m8!
Too often Vangelis' music for the first movie doesn't get mentioned.
Simply one of the most beautiful and important films ever made
Nice. I would like to see Blade Runner soon. Its on my list for some time.
Dude, your videos are awesome. I'm so glad you are growing fast. You really deserve more views. Ohh and hope one day to see you collab with people like (Your movie sucks, I hate everything, Ralph the movie maker) keep making the vids you love!
I was just discussing this yesterday with my sister :D
When the movie A quiet place comes out can you do a video on that ?
I cannot wait to! I am really excited about A quiet place and hope its executed well :)
one of my favourite films of all time
I never had the opportunity to see the movie in a cinema since, it came out 2 years before i even existed, but a few years ago, i luckily got the Blade Runner - 30th Anniversary
for like 60€ in really good conditon, but it got a bit worn down since i own it, but its one of the best movies i had ever seen... and i watched everything, including the workprint and documentary.
To me personally, this movie is and always will be a masterpiece.
Thank you!
Didnt the new film already come out?

Such a great movie. Love the director too I watch all of his movies too.
The book is really interesting, but quite different.
Ahhhhhh that time when everyone thought we was gonna have amazing tech by the year 2000
A longtime ago, my uncle showed me a book from the early 70s which showed what they thought would be available in the future.
There were alot of things shown in the book which really came out decades later, like the Video Phone, Cell phones and similar things.
Now I really want to see Blade Runner
Thank you
❤ well done!
Thanks Heidi!
This movie was sooo fucking ahead of its time damn
Does anyone know the name of the song in the background
Could you explain Legion when you get the chance? Many thanks as well.
yeh dude its on the list :)
FilmComicsExplained Thank you, comrade.
You should do a video explaining all of the Kirby lore
To tbis day, that final scene where he saves Decker. As a show that man chooses and a slave does not. He chose and died a free man.
I some how managed to get this confused with the Blade series from marvel.
One of the precious few films out there better than the novel.
Did you say the weiland utani corp. Exists in blade runner?
hey @filmcomicsexplained, what ever happened to the really cool intro?
hey buddy, not many people were a fan of it at the time
That's a shame, was pretty good! Loved the song.
Wait why are Tyrell making new replicants if it is illegal?
Watch the short films bro and you'll understand :) I've left a link below the video!
FilmComicsExplained Ok, thanks
Political wiggling & corporate corruption.
Wallace took over an introduced an new series that Obey also Blade runner is connected to Alien and Soldier Universes..
David Bowie was going to play Wallace an was in talks an confirmation but passed before he could
Have you done a video on Triffids? Day of the Triffids (film 1962; tv series 2009) technically not “creatures” but still dangerous hahaha
Can you give us the video list
dude its like 42 pages long lol sorry. But you're more than welcome to leave a suggestion :)
What does he always say at the beginning I can’t understand the name
Would you ever cover the Borg from Star Trek?
the fact that people started attack the replacants doesn't surprise me as i found out the other week that people will attack google's driverless cars for no reason other than their there.
3:00 is that josuke 😧
It's the year 2020. Still no flying cars.
Damn synths
awesome movie
Best movie I ever watched.

Could you maybe cover the animatix?
Hells yeh! will add it to the list now, thanks :)
Tears in Rain
How about Pontypool explained?
I agree with you about the replicants, we created them, it shouldn’t surprise us, right, and yet, we treat them like nothing more then things, but in reality, they’re human in there own way.
Why is it coming out so late in Australia?
read the pinned comment buddy and it will make sense :)
FilmComicsExplained Oh I see lol..
Wasn't a huge fan of the original movie but 2049 is my favorite movie
Is Deckard a Replicant?

Some of the greatest movies ever made ..possibly my favorite also Blade Runner is connected to Alien universe an Soldier
I would like to get your take on the movie Brazil.
Edward James Olmos always gives me the creeps in this... I've heard the idea of this movie started with a bad trip
EPIC
Good on the replicants for fighting for their freedom. It is the duty of the enslaved to rebel. ;)
5:10 to true he is the perfect director
Wait but i dont understand on 2049 isnt the main charcter a replicant
Feels like I've seen this video before. Weird
I have all three versions of the original Blade Runner on DVD. I first saw it on VHS. I prefer the original theatrical version best. This movie was very revolutionary for it's time. It's now used in film school to show how to make good films. Thank you.
you should do a gears of war video
I was really disappointed with the sequel of Blade Runner, great video!
i quite liked it and thought it built on the Blade Runner universe well
Alberto2341 I thought it was actually a good movie, different but good especially the questions it asked aswell as the twist with K
It was pretty good, I just think the original was the best in my opinion
Alberto2341 oh yeah definitely
bro you should explain Akira
Replicants did somebody say institute synths
Cyberpunk is the sh*t! At least in the Blade Runner universe, their AI bots were not positioned to access a whole variety of automated infrastructures.
Hey anyone ever suggested "The Island of Dr. Moreau" yet? Its arguable one of the creepiest films I ever watched as a kid, but it really fleshed out for me the ethics involved in genetic engineering.
Yep its on the list :)
A great look into the philosophy of genetic engineering are a few episodes og Black Mirror.
Are you alright man? You sound a bit tired
why did you say soon to come bladerunner 2049 when it's already out?
yep! read the comment below the video, it will explain everything :)
FilmComicsExplained I litteraly was just about to say that I realized it only came out in Australia, its a good film
