Hello from the state up north. I am a Career Development Coach and videos like this one really help when I am working with students doing career exploration. Thank you for your great content.
As someone who works at the periphery of marketing... the first few minutes of this videos were so realistic it hurts. No actual work just focus on drinks, team meeting, meeting, shuffle tasks, bit of website maintenance, then drink, yoga, then party 😂😂😂
Omg don’t fall for it! Marketing is hectic, crazy hrs with almost regular overtime and, no OT pay because you are salaried, urgent unrealistic client requests that are due like yesterday, usually you won’t have time for anything because your task list will always be updated with new items that are not fitting into your regular workday anymore, most likely there won’t be enough time to finish all competing priorities for the day, let alone having time for breaks/eating … if you are on the client services side, it’s about 5-7 meetings a day - every day with all of your clients and internal teams, so that takes a whole day and then you are doing your actual work after, and if you are not into constant interacting/extraverted, you will get drained very quickly. So good luck if you wanna try it, but I’ve been to 4 ad agencies on project/accounts & creative side and have friends in marketing as well and there is a reason why ppl are constantly hopping around - it’s because they are abused and overworked hoping for a better work-life balance. That’s why most move “in-house” but even that gets pretty crazy (I know someone who works in marketing for a big “coffee shop chain” and a brokerage firm) - pretty much it’s same story across the board :(
Hey i am interested in so many marketing paths such as content, social media, beauty/fashion, product and digital i just don’t know which field i want to go into. Do you have any suggestions on what deals with a little bit of all categories?
I’m contemplating perusing a marketing degree however, I understand that the degree is pretty over saturated and grad salaries can be low, would you recommend a dual degree and if so what subject do you think is the most beneficial to combine for post grad employment opportunities?
This is such a great and informative video of what it’s like working in marketing! I am currently a Marketing and Business Analytics major in college and will be graduating next year, do you have any tips for going into marketing analytics or looking for marketing jobs in a new city?
strange comment, but i love the l tampons lol. i just wish they made applicator free tampons because i hate the applicators and never use them. for a company which prioritizes sustainability, i'm surprised they don't have this option! love your vlogs so much by the way!
hey girl! came across this video. I just graduated in may and im looking to get into marketing and I was just wondering if you could share what you do in a day?
Seems like it’s a lot to take in and maybe stressful with all the deadlines. How long did it take for you to get use to all the meetings, tasks and deadlines before you became comfortable with your job working from home?
I really enjoyed the video! What kind of training did you do for this position? I am thinking about going into it as I have a Marketing degree, but not sure what my steps are.
I love this video!! 🎉 I’ve been looking to make a transition into marketing. My experience (and education) is in journalism & specifically, social media/audience engagement/ digital strategy. Do you have any advice for making a transition? Steps I should take? Thank you!! ❤🎉
Hey there I made this transition! I started off in copywriting roles in a digital marketing agency and went from there! I would also highly suggest using tiktok or RUclips as a resource to learn about it and also Google has a digital marketing course which is really beneficial!
I’m going in for my second interview or whatever for this entry-level assistant manager role for a marketing company so but yeah they said they were impressed by me over zoom but I’m not sure if that’s like a good thing or not and do most marketing places pay biweekly right? Curious
I got a question! Im super interested in getting an education like marketing but do marketing for lets say a international school or tourism spot in a warm country. Is that the same marketing your doing but different type of market? :P Thanks
Hello! I love your content! I am interested in transferring into the field of marketing. Do you have any suggestions for someone who is interested in the fashion or beauty niche, doing marketing. I currently hold a certification in marketing I am not sure if a degree would be the way to go? Thanks!
thanks sm ! i would try to get an internship! you might have to start with an unpaid one at first, and try to build your portfolio / take online marketing courses through linkedin! getting a degree always helps if that's posisble for oyu
as someone who isn’t good with math, do you recommend Marketing major with a minor in Communications (for advertising) or major in Communications with a minor in Marketing
@@LuciaCordaro How do you get assigned to the different tasks while working in marketing? I'm guessing the spreadsheets means spending a lot of time on Excel? Do you enjoy your job?
