Infiniti FX. At first glance, Infinitis well-regarded FX crossover appears more sports sedan than SUV, but its actually an artful blending of both. First introduced in 2003, the shapely FX45, and its V6-powered sibling the FX35, still have what it takes to stop traffic and turn heads. The flashy design, however, sometimes places form over function, most noticeably in the areas of cargo space and rear visibility. If you can live with these minor shortcomings, the Infiniti FXs impressive handling, distinctive good looks and adrenaline-pumping acceleration make it a desirable performance-oriented crossover.

Still looks better than 3/4 of new SUVs
This thing could pass for modern design. Wayyy ahead of it's time in terms of design, especially the rear. I' a Uni. student in Canada and I just bought an 04 used and it is fantastic. I have people asking me how I can afford a brand new Infiniti, and then they're shocked when I tell them it's a 2004. Just a great vehicle.
my mom got this car 😀😀
As a non SUV fan, this is probably the most stylish SUV ever. Still remember looking at one years ago and it still looks pretty good.
I'm a driving enthusiast and thus thing has tons of power!!! (fx35) the sexy engine growl is just stunning epically in cold weather she growls in the morning!!
I have been driving and loving my FX35 for 3yrs now. It has given me ZERO problems, still turns heads, and is fun to drive. You'll feel safe in this vehicle too...haven't seen too many comment on that. If that is as important to you as style and function, no worries.
🙂 Still looks better than most today’s SUVs (2023) and its second generation (known also as QX70) is gorgeous even today.
I've had my FX35 for only a year and couldn't be more pleased. A few days after I got it I drove 8 hours across the state in the pouring rain. However I felt extremely comfortable and safe the whole way. Personally, I think the handling feels almost just as good as the G35 (coupe). Aside from the car functioning well, I get many compliments on the looks and brick interior color.
it handled well in the rain bro?
I just bought a black obsidian fully loaded sports FX35 AWD complete with technology package, lane departure system, tilt / telescopic steering & controls, and other gizmos. It turns heads but most importantly handles like a cheetah with its powerful engines. I'm loving it...
How long did it last you if you don’t mind me asking?
I got an Internet deal from Legacy Infiniti, the largest dealership in the US of a certified pre-owned with very low mil @ 16K mi, excellent condition originally on promotional sale at $35K. With good bargaining, I got it for $33K including the APR and taxes. Made a down payment of $12K and a monthly of $350. Not a bad deal.
Very beautiful design relevant even today.
I love my FX 45 :)
Funny. I used to think this was one ugly looking vehicle. A friend had one I called "das boot." Not as in "the boat", but because it reminded me of a high top boot or a Converse sneaker (being sporty)...and then I rode in it. Been hooked ever since.
Ha, it still has that Converse sneaker look to me at times, but even that shoe is a timeless classic. Look forward to maybe owning and driving my own 'das boot' someday.
😊 I have the 08 Infiniti FX35 with 63000 miles on it. I replaced the headlights and it looks like a "new" older model. Infiniti was first out of the gate with this design Unfortunately they didn't keep up the great pace!
I agree. The interior of the Infiniti FX35 is luxurious and somewhat sporty. The FX35 competes with the Porsche Cayenne S while the FX50 competes with the Cayenne GTS. Standard features of the 2008 FX35 (my Consumer Guide test book only has 2008 models, I assume more would be added for 2009) include air conditioning w/dual-zone climate controls, interior air filter, power tilt/telescopic leather-wrapped steering wheel w/radio controls, cruise control, leather upholstery, heated front seats, etc.
Standard features of the FX35 include air conditioning w/dual-zone climate controls, interior air filter, power tilt/telescopic leather-wrapped steering wheel w/radio controls, cruise control, leather upholstery, heated front seats, emrmoy system, 6-disc CD changer, Bose radio, power liftgate, rearview camera, outside-temperature indicator, and compass. the 2008 FX45 adds on remote engine start, keyless access and start, wireless cell phone link, universal garage door opener, and power sunroof.
Standard features include air conditioning w/dual-zone climate controls, interior air filter, power tilt/telescopic leather-wrapped steering wheel w/radio controls, cruise control, leather upholstery, heated front seats, 10-way power driver seat, 8-way power passenger seat, memory system, premium sound system, rearview camera, outside-temperature indicator, power liftgate.
I Love how accurate and precise this review is @@!
it's rated to tow 3500 lbs. I tow a 20 foot ski boat but only about town to and from the ramp. I wouldn't really want to take this on the road for any distance with that load behind it. But the vehicle I was using in the past was a Dodge Ram 2500 cummins turbo diesel, and that thing would pull anything.
One thing that was really disconcerting is that with the fx you can hear the hitch moving. Something that with the diesel Dodge you couldn't do
I have an FX 45 with the nav system. In one of the drill down menus for car settings you can disable this feature. I'm 6' tall, so it's a feature that I really like though.
sorry, I meant "Audi Q7", not "Audi R8"
got one lately, really a sport one
I love my FX. Quality all the way around. I can't believe that anyone would seriously compare a dodge anything to this car. I've had to drive a Dodge Magnum as a rental car at work, and there is no comparison. It was like driving a bathtub on wheels. But then I didn't take it camping or try to sleep in it. I've never taken my FX off road, nor do I ever intend to, so if that's a concern then I guess I could see a problem, but to each his own.
My mom just bought a used 2008 Infiniti FX45, and she loves it.
How's it holding it up😅
@@lilocapitalT-ix4nz blast from the past lol it’s going well got 164k miles on it now
@@youmils03swagger this is awesome hahaha and that's good to hear I js copped one 136k miles grey
The only SUV with attractive Visually, Mechanically, and Sound
as you should know if you bought the vehichle the ride is rough but okay at times but so worth it when you have reach 65 mph cornering with 0 body roll
Competitors include the Lincoln MKX, Cadillac SRX, Lexus RX, Mercedes-Benz ML, BMW X5, and Porsche Cayenne.
I was talking about the 2009. The 2008 FX35 competes with the Cayenne base, the 2008 FX45 competes with the Cayenne S, the 2009 FX35 competes with the Cayenne S, and the 2009 FX50 competes with the Cayenne GTS. They need a super FX, a REALLY impressive one.
fx 35 is a crossover but the fx45 is a suv
Why do you not like the Q7 and Cayenne? How about the standard leather upholstery? Sporty ride?
How are the brakes on the car and the turning radius, Im planning to have one in europe and we brake a lot during driving, we also have tight roads here so we need a good turning radius.
????
love it love it.
is there any difference between the 35 and 45 other than the engine
well said
still love my 2008 FX45 loaded, missing some features that are in my Lexus but minor , like DVD playback in dash, ventilated seats, parking sensors etc. but it makes up for it with Radar Cruise with preview braking/ brake assist, lane departure warning and other features advanced for the time.
Are they 4x4?
Nm she just said awd lol
Infiniti FX=
Better than Mercedes-Benz ML
Better than BMW X5
Better than Lexus RX
Better than Lincoln MKX
Tying with Porsche Cayenne
Tying with Cadillac SRX
Worse than Audi R8
youmils03 Hey the Lincoln MKX from this generation was meant to be a comfortable luxury crossover cruiser kind of vehicle & it had some features the FX didn't offer in its first generation like a panoramic sunroof, cooled front seats, & heated rear seats
Can it tow ?
@sano514 ive got a heavy foot and average 20.9 mixed
hows the gas milage? anyone plz ?
try setting the memory differently
Yep. It's a good car.
Damn, dude have u driven a FX lately? I have a LX470 with V8 n when I drove d FX45 my pants got wet littteralllllyyyy LMAO")).RX sucks ballzzzz compare to this beast lol.
I have just bought an FX 35 AWD 2008, 168000 mile. Still the SUV looks almost new and can compete in design with contemporary vehicles. The vehicle runs smoothly without any trouble. One of the best production of infinity and history of luxury SUVs. I believe Porsche cayenne has stolen it's design and this car was way ahead than it's contemporary vehicles
How much did u pay for it if u dont mind me asking?? Is it still driving
@ccolivardia it also burns oil..
exactly
"The soccer mom sports car" Everyone in my town drives those and Lexus LX570's.
How reliable are these?
Mine has 90000 miles and still runs like new.. early to mid 2000's Infiniti vehicles are known to last forever. Used to have an X5 and it was a nightmare. Haven't had 1 issue with my FX45. If you can find one at a decent price, I'd say go for it. you wont be disappointed.
Plus, you get lots of stares cuz there arent too many on the road. It's a stunning car
ive read their allot of fun to drive and own but expensive to maintain.
Having this been put on RUclips two weeks ago, you'd think that they'd have the new FX, the uglier but cooler FX.
@Razor4ever brakes are good, turning radius , its about the diameter of the earth, it kinda sux and i live in florida lol, we have big fat roads and sutff, but it is the most comfy car like, ever, amazing value for the price of a used one, and it will never break down, we have had our FX for 6 years and we only had to change the belt once and chane the oil regularly, and there were dashboard defects from 2005 and 2006 models , but if u take it to inifiniti they will repair it for free
I meant "memory system" lol
since when was the power sunroof an option? I thought it was standard on all models since introduction.
juanpablofx e
People try to drive this like a g35 coupe.
U r so tru...I got both
@ronooo87 Please don't call it a truck.
this cra is sexxy i love infiniti
bought a infiniti and then a lexus. horrible, horrible. the quality could of been better. but the service really fucking pissed me off. now i have a cts and a mkx... so much better quality
same as my car ...
As soon as you said stiff ride, I was turned off immediately. Give me Lexus smooth anyday.
wuss
The ride does not feel stiff to me after driving my fx35 for 13 years. Handling is nimble and cornering is sporty. Of all the people have driven or been in my car, no one complained about the ride. It is a good car with style.
Well bud it’s not designed to be a smooth cruiser. It’s designed to be a sporty G35 SUV and it does it very well. I own one and it has been completely trouble free. It corners and handles excellent. And boy that sound is just orgasmic.
a diesel one is much better
the rx is kinda ugly now.....
I'll never Forget the great effort of CORETECHIE on 1G For keeping his promise, you're such a wonderful soul Sir
