I was thinking that too, Id like to see a deep full field scan like what was done with the Titanic debris field. If that can be done at 2 1/2 miles down it can be done at 5k feet (roughly a mile) I was hoping the remaining 11 was found to give the family closure but at this point Im I’m sure nothing is left. This catastrophe was very sad and If its close to how the “DWH” Movie was was portrayed then it was also preventable, it was a bunch of ignored, known issues that could of been fixed, and this tragic day prevented, especially the “BOP”, the main thing that prevents “everything” that went wrong that day. Rest In Peace to the 11 that perished and God Bless Everyone involved that made it.
@@chrism.4600 Yeah the disaster itself was pretty much as brutal as depicted. What enabled it was them, despite being pretty professional (obvs not all the way), getting away with cutting corners. Do it enough times and eventually you'll goof and that's what they did.
orallav7 Yes, very normal in the Gulf of Mexico. Sometimes you'll see crabs, or an eel, occasionally fish.. but the vast majority of time, at the wellhead you don't see very much.
orallav7 yes and no, sometimes there are no signs of life but the lack of life near the site is caused by the oil and other toxins. Recently, LSU has been doing a study on deep sea marine life near the well site.
central pan & til needs to be forward more.... cool having a pan & tilt camera on the tms also... was trying to figure out what else is on that umbilical besides extra boyancy
I saw only 2 parts, the first shots were of the wellhead, the second shots were of the riser, the BOP (Blow Out Preventer) attaches to the wellhead, then the riser is above it and runs all the way to surface which can be 5000+ ft of water.
Pretty damm dumb doing this without any text describing what we are looking at? Communicating technical information today is terrible, worse, dangerous to all of us!
Probably just contractual stuff means they couldn't broadcast (or possibly even record) talk on this dive/location. It might be possible to sift through data collected though.
This one needs a narration of what we are seeing.
I would love to see the platform structure in full
Visibility isn't granted so to see the entire platform clearly is essentially impossible. Sunlight can't get to these depths.

Nautilus is pretty op this patch tbh
New balance tweaks
2:31 "In memory of the Deep Water Horizon."
playback @ twice speed. What was the point of the wiffle-ball magic wand? Casting a healing spell?
A probe
It was sad the day that the horizon fell the movie was so sad rip horizon
Loving this channel
Is it normal not to see any signs of life at this depth?

Need to store the starboard manip too. No reason to be flying around like that.
I'd imagine a pair or two of Single Mode fiber.
Couldn’t they get a scan of the sea floor like what they did with the Titanic so we can see where and how the structure is resting on the floor?
what are we looking at? some help would be good..
at the closed deepwater horizon oil well!(and i am in the alps...)😉
@@meerkatzThe23 ..the lower slopes of Caerphilly mountain, overlooking Cardiff, the Bay and the Bristol channel..
basically,we are looking at a "memory plug"?
You never hear about all the oil that's probably at the bottom of the ocean around that area. Out of sight out of mind I guess.
Considering oil floats on top of water, it's pretty safe to say there isn't any oil just hanging around down there.....
Where is all the scientist doing the ewwwww ahhhhhhh?
For 11 workers this is their final resting place, not a site for people to gawk at
ROCHESTER :)
Is anyone getting submechanophobia watching this video?
Without audio, we have no idea what we are looking at, quite a disappointment!

An offshore BOP is HUGE compared to one on land, Google them both and you will see what I mean
I guess no one wanted to play some wiffle ball...what a shame 😢

You were looking at the wellhead and riser
