Oh my goodness. When the kids were little we started out with a pop up and then we upgraded to a travel trailer and now we have a class a and we love it. Washer,dryer and dishwasher. Our son has autism and it was a way of giving him comfort in our away home. We love it!

We have a 39ft. 5th wheel and pull it with a Dodge 3500 duelly. We bought both used. I am 58 and my husband is 61. We have been camping for about 5 yrs. He hopes to retire in about 15 months then I want to travel all over the mid-west. You will love the 5th wheel, lots more storage than a travel trailer. I call it my 2nd home! Safe travels!

My Dad is also 62. Last September my parents bought 4 acres of land with a 100 year old train station on it, right and the Canada/US border. We live on the Canadian side. Anyway, my parents have been having a blast there! It’s their little getaway spot. Like a cabin.

We have been campers all of my life & started out with a pop up then finally bought a brand new RV. It leaked around the windows during the winter & we didn’t know it until it was very damaged. Keep a eye out for leaks. Also when we stopped to get gas along our travels we were approached by people wanting money. Always beware of people watching you at gas stations & visitor centers. Safe & happy travels. ❤️ I hope you bring us along.

Congratulations on your new home. I am so happy for you guys. I hope you have many years of fun with it. I am 64 years old and I am so glad that I traveled a lot while I was young and didn’t wait. I am too crippled and have too many health problems to travel nowadays. I am so happy that you both still have your health and fitness. My sister has also traveled extensively over the years and now at 65 she has terminal lung cancer. You just never know what the future hold so you need to live everyday to the fullest.
My husband and I kept saying “one day” but took the plunge this year and got our Grand Design trailer! You learn as you go. We love it and already started making memories with our little ones. Congrats from one newbie to the other 💕
Chad, you got this. Its much easier to pull a 5th wheel than a bumper pull. We have a 27' Jayco and its a bumper pull, but no issues pulling it. My husband & I are waiting for his retirement (4 yrs) and we are selling our home and hitting the open road. So happy for you two. I wish you many miles & lots of fun.

Congratulations to you both. I am glad you are not waiting. I retired at 59 (husband was already retired) so we could travel and enjoy life. We owned a 5th wheel first and then bought a motorhome. We have sold them all now but we enjoyed them for a few years. My husband is on dialysis now and was just diagnosed with Lymphoma a couple weeks ago. You MUST enjoy your health and vitality as much as you can. God bless you both.

Congratulations! ! So happy for y’all, we were RVErs but for health reasons we had to retire from it, but you will enjoy your fifth wheel. We had the trip of out lifetime when we spend 2 weeks out West. Went to Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, Wyoming, the Badlands Mitchell South Dakota, and all the small towns along the way. It was a dream come true for us. My husband said once you pull a fifth wheel you don’t want to go back to a pull behind. I hope for you guys many happy adventures😊👍

We had ordered our dream vehicle, picking out a trailer. So many plans, so many sacrifices to get to that point. My husband retired...well that is for 6 days then he was diagnosed with terminal cancer, we lost him 7 weeks later. Now I drive his dream vehicle that he never got the chance to drive. Instead of feeling cheated he said all our planning gave him pure contentment more then anything he could ever do with me as he knew he could leave me well cared for. Enjoy your new adventures I will be watching you having the time of your life.

We sold our little Scottie RV almost 2 years ago and have regretted it! It was getting too small to hold all our grandkids so we bought a camper trailer instead and put it on some property we own in the woods (built a porch on it) and have our own "campground" (complete with an outhouse). We call it our "Camp Getaway" and it has been perfect for our family (especially during the corona virus time). However, I do miss not being able to travel with it. Looking forward to "camping along" with you two in our recliners here in NC!
Great choice! My husband grew up camping and he said they are some of his best memories. We bought a little pop up and took our baby when he was 6 months old. Now we have a fifth wheel and love taking our 2 kids on camping weekend! Congratulations!!!!!

43 married years of tent to pop-up to our couples camper, now our kids join us with their various tent/pop-up/campers! I can tell you I got lots of storage ideas from Camper FaceBook groups. They are full of great tips for storing and decorating. Keep a small journal of your camping trips because YOU WILL forget some details !!!

Great choice! My husband grew up camping and he said they are some of his best memories. We bought a little pop up and took our baby when he was 6 months old. Now we have a fifth wheel and love taking our 2 kids on camping weekend! Congratulations!!!!!

Oh I'm excited for you! My husband and I are 4 years from this ourselves. Whenever we fly out to our ski home in Hunstville we and the kids count all the RVs we see in peoples driveways. Can't wait for the tour! May you have many years of health and happiness in it!

43 married years of tent to pop-up to our couples camper, now our kids join us with their various tent/pop-up/campers! I can tell you I got lots of storage ideas from Camper FaceBook groups. They are full of great tips for storing and decorating. Keep a small journal of your camping trips because YOU WILL forget some details !!!
