Would you believe it if I said this episode took me around a year to produce? This episode was produced from late 2022 to mid-late 2023, took me awhile to figure out how to pace certain scenes. I must stress once again, THIS SERIES IS NOT MEANT TO SUPPORT ANY POLITICAL IDEOLOGY NOR PUSH AN AGENDA, and it was written and produced BEFORE the current events of 2023
I can't but commending you for the effort and dedication that you have shown and put into this series.
I may not find it perfect or 100% to my liking, but please do not assume for an instant that I do not consider your "Magnum Opus" - if I may call it this way - one of the best mapping series I have seen for few years.
@@maxdepasquale2351 This series has been a lot of work, and demotivation hit me like a truck in 2021 and 2022 (I mean I only got 3 episodes done), but I have done everything in my power to ensure that my series is able to stand on its own two legs and it's something that my audience and I can both enjoy

I never seen a mapping series use the Constantine XI prophecy you certainly didn’t disappoint in his return the flag of Greece is great and the character magnificent seems like what the actual emperor would be like looking forward to seeing more of him
@@railwayhistorian2778 Hellas will get some spotlight in Part 2, don't you worry! Keep in mind that a good portion of the world does not believe Constantine XI is back, even some of the other monarchs wonder if it's true, but rest assured, he has returned!
@@ZeKaiserVG so the emperor returned perhaps he will fight you know who that be interesting but you used the prophecy with respect very good you certainly did not disappoint as for the fate of Russia I must say I didn’t like it but it will be interesting to see what will happen eventually will the Romanovs return again or perhaps a different family or maybe even different factions all together but Indonesias death was gold excellent work

My thoughts? The end map was rather...interesting to say the least. However, several questions are still in need of asking (MASSIVE AHH SPOILERS):
- How did Zion manage to do all that, and how is it still scared of Iran?
- Since the creatures are real or something, does this mean there is a *slight* possibility that Woelki, or rather, the Anti-Christ, could use this, how do I say this, newfound technology, to summon demons from hell?
- There are still portions of the world untouched like the Southernmost parts of Africa and South America, how will they factor in season 2?
- Continuing from question 2, will we expect to see more wack tech that has links to mythologies?
@@boris001000 Zion was able to fund the pagans and Swedish nationalists anonymously, along with sending the letter anonymously. Zion didn't know what the end result would be, but he didn't care, as long as it caused chaos. He is not scared of Iran, just did not want to prolong the war
That is a very interesting idea, but I have no plans for that at the moment
Those regions will get more spotlight during part 2, along with some action as well
There won't be any crazy new tech, but there will be more elaboration on the Hurð Project and the technology involved in it
I have no time to comment now. Let me just point out what I said once - "If the archangel Michael showed up and spoke to me, I would certainly have myself tested..."

Poor (real) cardinal Woelki, what did he do to you to deserve to be... well... ? 🙂
I now have a few minutes. This was a great episode, no doubt. I loved the personalities of the character-states and lots of action.... perhaps... just as it often happens to the last episodes of many great series, there are slightly-more-than-usual internal reflections and monologues than I might like, if they are protracted. Also, I cannot fathom the PRC becoming so altruistic, nor Japan turning into the protector of Asia. It looks a tad "cheesy". It's just not in their DNA. But these are just "bumps" in the series.
I loved how Iran tricked Zion as well. This was one of the best scenes of the episodes, I believe. What were the mad folks in Jerusalem thinking, that a region of the world that has seen several great empires and given profound inputs to human knowledge and art would stay as "modern" republic?
I am sure that more question will pop up in my mind, but for the moment... why Woelki had to resort to this complicated ruse to frame Hollerich, involving St. Silas? OK, this way we saw Hollerich, Woelki and Caccia in the same place (and it shows that perhaps Caccia was aware of the Letter by St. Silas) and the spectators had fun this way, but there would be uncountable ways in which such a creature could have easily fabricate charges against other cardinals.
@@maxdepasquale2351 Well it had to be one of the two, and ultimately Woelki fit more as the antagonist! I just hope that the real Cardinal Woelki doesn't see this, I mean I don't think he'd take kindly to his portrayal here or in part 2
@@maxdepasquale2351 Well for one, I wanted to create a modern tragedy reminiscent of Shakespeare. Two, this was not his original plan, as he said internally before the scene ended, Caccia confronting them before they returned changed his plan, this will be elaborated on in part 2. 3, he knew Caccia as well as Hollerich did, he knew that if he was down there, the Swiss Guard could not be far behind, thus he knew what to do
@@ZeKaiserVG The real Woelki seems to be person that threads quite difficult situations and has a checkered past, as far as I know from the internet. Don't know if it bodes well 🙂

- If Pope Peter II does not show up: Woelki can still convince Hollerich that Caccia is the... bad guy of St. Silas' vision.
- If Pope Peter II shows up: Woelki kills him and accuses Hollerich of the murder.

I don't have much time to watch this masterpiece properly, so I only watched the parts that interested me the most (War of the Dragon).
Most of the content of the whole war was within my expectations, but I really didn't expect that China would choose to sacrifice himself to make up for his mistakes.

I didn't think it'd be this long, trust me. I kind of structured the wars like shonen fights in shonen manga/anime how it cuts away from one fight to another until they start wrapping up one after another. Regardless, I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
@@ZeKaiserVG the reason why i want this to be split into multiple parts is that would make it easier to watch the side that you enjoyed the most since finding everything in a 3h 40m long video is pretty difficult, unless you memorized the timestamps
This was the best completed series ive seen since pax britannica. It might have won best series in my mind if abandoned didnt exist or was never going to be finished
There's still more on the horizon, it might be possible that in tandem with part 2, it might surpass it in your mind!

@@ZeKaiserVG Up to Episode 8, it is very good - one of the best mapping series I have ever seen. Episode 9 - it has slightly disappointed me, especially for the first 2/3. Too "mental", almost "hermetic", if you see what I mean. I like action.
@@maxdepasquale2351 I see, too many internal monologues (if I understand) and not many events happening? I can get that, shame it didn't live up to the other episodes for you. Just hope that Annuntiate doesn't disappoint (which it surely won't, I hope so anyway)
Before switching off, I was also going to say a few words about Germany. I feel sorry for her, despite the fact that he indeed betrayed the USA hard. But I do not think that he had done anything bad in the latest few episodes, while a twisted Canada stabbed him. I even feel touched, I must say, when he longed for his lost friend, France. Even the "East Plan" was just to be activated in the event of absolute emergency (Kaiser, correct me if I am wrong). I mean, Italy's betrayal of USA was not much less serious, and yet he got to live on and consolidate his power in the end.
BTW, in real life Italians and Germans do not dislike each other. We disagree and yes bicker since they are quite... uninhibited when talking, but the truth is, Italians would like our Nation to be as well-organized and "clean" as Germany is, while Germans love the art, the culture and the fine weather (and food) they find in Italy. Among my few good friends, some are German.
There is only one occasion when our rivalry flares up: a football match 😀
@@maxdepasquale2351 Yeah the Öst Europa Plan was supposed to be carried out in a last-ditch move, unlike Italy, Germany was too focused on the war to realize the danger he was in, while Italy believed he was in danger thanks to Peter II

I feel like some of the plotlines need more development and screentime to fully hit and some of the emoțional moments felt undercooked but there was also some really good stuff in it
For as unhinged as this series is, I actually want to see more
@@EpsilonMapping Admittedly I had no further plans or ideas on how to expand on the plotlines, without coming across as repetitive or outright monotonous to sit through. I didn't want to further bloat the runtime and I wanted to make sure the pacing was still to my liking. What were your favorite moments btw?
@@ZeKaiserVG my favorite plotlines have to be:
1. The Vatican one, obviously
2. Indonesia and China's feud
3. The UN (not a lot of series have them as an actual character, that was really interesting)
4. The pagans, especially now with the multiverse shit
@@EpsilonMapping The UN is pretty underutilized in mapping series, which is exactly why I'm using him. You probably noticed in general there are a lot of ideas that aren't really used in mapping series, like mythological creature, the return of monarchism, and the Vatican playing a central role in the story, amongst other oddities like New Zealand taking over Australia, Zionism being an antagonistic force instead of Islamist extremists or religions in the modern day being used as plot points

Mildly out of topic, I've just finished reading the novel "Conclave" by Robert Harris. Knew Harris from his masterpiece, "Fatherland". I saw the very beautiful trailer of the film that are going to show in a couple of months, and the great cast of actors that take part in it, but I would be a liar if I didn't admit that my attention on the subject was also piqued by Nova Regna.
[SPOILER] What can I say? I think that it is very good till 9.5/10 of the plot. The finale... well, surely Harris has done a good and deep deal of homework on the RCC, Vatican City and the Bible, but he's not that acknowledged on some rules and the ending surprise looked somehow "a stretch". I've used (acquired) British understatement.[SPOILER]

@@ZeKaiserVG I'll tell you more. You might think that I am not a fan of long monologues... actually, years ago I found a splendid traslation in Italian of the entire monologue of Hamlet, Chapter 4. I've put it into a frame and hung on my wall. Speaking of certain "shakesperian" influences.... ;-)
...and since we are on these themes, might I suggest that you put a quote from the book of the Ecclesiastes, at the beginning of an episode of the second season of Nova Regna? You know, an existentialist/borderline nihilist in the Bible is quite something.
