Came here because portia's ruin diving is different from sandrock's, which made me confused lol. Good tutorial tho, straight to the point.

Yeah, Sandrock has some pretty drastic changes to some of its mechanics. I remember having to get used to them when first playing.

Straight forward, no nonesense guide. Thank you! You might want to invest in a better mic though.

I actually have a better mic, but I don't have anywhere to set it up just yet. Right now, I'm having to record everything from my laptop while sitting on my bed, as I lack an office space or desk of any sort to hook up a better quality mic. Me getting space is on the agenda in the future though.

Just pointing out, the first hazardous ruin can't be accessed until spring 17th of your first year. Great video thanks for the upload.

I’m not sure if I’m doin got right. I only have access to the first ruins so far but there are next to no items for me to find so I keep changing the floor or whatever it’s called. Hope I’m not leaving anything behind. I think I only have like 6 yellow spot on each floor

Sometimes it can be difficult to find items, especially early on. There's actually more space available than it first seems, as there are several walls you can mine through.
That said, early on, you should focus on going to the abandoned ruins more for ores than for artifacts. When you find good areas with lots of an ore, you'll likely find lots of stuff within it, and be better able to find things from below the surface.
As you progress in the story, the opportunity to improve your scanner will come up, which will increase the distance you can find artifacts from, as well as highlight what the artifacts are.

Is the whole point of the abandoned mines just to collect resources? And once your pass has expired does that mean that mine cant be accessed ever or can you renew your pass? Only just started playing so any early game advice is welcome 😊

The abandoned mines exist for gathering resources and relics. Relics can be displayed on your property for some stat buffs depending on the relic (some require being rebuilt at the research center) and in a museum later on. You can pay for a new pass whenever you want after your previous one expires.

Do you mean the scanner? You gain the ability to upgrade it after certain parts of the story, and have to pay to do so. They're permanent upgrades.
