Writers: How about we do a cinderella in Bollywood!
Studio: Best we can do is casual racism and stereotypes and Lucy Hale
So true honestly
Cheetah girls bollywood was the least offensive imo
@@mushy470 THIS !!! They learning about the culture and everything , idk wtf this is supposed to be- 😭

@@mushy470 in general it was a weird trendy thing to do in Disney clearly at this time.... Bollywood-esquire Disney films 💀💀💀💀💀
tell me why every “gifted singer” in these types of movies/shows were just an over auto tuned girl singing about love 🗿
Because the actresses/actors they hired are actors, not singers.
@@Funeral_Mannequin still it was kind of funny, because they DID NOT chill with the auto tune
The worst part is she’s actually a good singer, it’s like a Riverdale musical episode, wayyyy too much autotune on voices that don’t need them.
@@ellisamarieisme exactlyyyy
The fact that Lucy Hale can actually sing says a lot about the editors.
Not the “Indian themed” party. How was this allowed!? 😭😩
LITERALLY

It wasn’t even Indian they took three different cultures and mixed them in one disrespecting all of them

@@efrainhuaycochea9745 right, I was confused about that 💀
You don’t realize until you go rewatch them, but movies during the 2010s were very ✨problematic✨
@@saysaysays Also the fact that she only looks "pretty" when she take her glasses off and have straight hair is sooo problematic and even rude
@@saysaysays Lily was hella toxic in the first film. She was great in the second film though.
@@saysaysays I mean… she was meant to be… it was literally Lily’s arc to go from selfish and self-centered to an actual supportive friend 😭😭
@@purink8490 are you really suggesting that she looked good with her super frizzy unkept hair and outdated looking glasses on
@@saysaysays The Princess Diaries isn't problematic lmao, imagine comparing a bad friend in a movie to a racist theme in this one. You are worrying about the wrong stuff.
why tf would there be two urinal singing scenes, when there shouldn't even be one...
No seriously why did they write that 😖
I still can't believe I watched this movie over FIVE TIMES and somehow blocked both of 'em from my memory
call me crazy but I think the optimal number of urinal singing scenes in a movie is 0
if I had a nickel for every time there is a urinal singing scene, I would have two nickles. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice. -I'm not sure if I said it correctly, but you guys know what I meant.
Ok, the plot is beyond problematic, but can we talk about how Bless Myself and Make You Believe are BOPS?!?!?!?!
I still listen to all the songs and younger me LIVED for the Run This Town choreography in the beginning for absolutely no reason 😭
And knockin' 🤌🏻

"and a random tablecloth-wearing Asian-" "Indian" oh so we're just gonna pretend that Indians don't count as Asian huh... not like India is literally part of Asia, specifically SOUTH ASIA... 🙄
Right I’m confused why did he say that lmao
I was just about to say that, like how are the scriptwriters gonna do him like that 🤦♀️
I think he was specifying because Asian people aren't a monolith.
I made a comment about that but I deleted it cuz it might've been sarcasm but even if it was this was so culturally insensitive 😭
I think he was just being specific
literally HALF the characters were POC, i feel so bad that they had to suffer silently😭😭
IKR I WOULD’VE JUST BEEN STANDING THERE LIKE “🧍♀️what”
Lmao how’d they have to “suffer silently” y’all are so quick to try to be “activists” that you don’t understand any intentions of the writers, the mom was supposed to be problematic that was part of her villianization there are people like her in the world and the movie was making fun of that, she was cast in a bad light so how would the POC actors be hurt by that, if they think that the movie perpetuates the idea then I can kinda see that but other than that y’all don’t understand any form of deeper meaning and are so quick to react when you don’t even know what’s going on
@@heylilpissbaby2099 but like...they made the Indian guy correct the stepmom by saying "Indian" when she referred to him as "Asian" when...Indians are Asians......
That's just ignorance on the writers' parts honestly because I'm pretty sure the Indian actor knows he counts as Asian too
@@spectre9340 yeah, but it's really annoying when you just put all Asian's in the same category, and don't specify, since there are huge cultural differences between the regions, and I'd be annoyed if the mom couldn't even remember which asian country I'm from...
You may be Asian and disagree, but I doubt it cos everyone I've seen state that they're Asian agrees with men, so I have a feeling that the Asians aren't the ones complaining...
@@Aisha_Luv I am Asian, yes
But what I'm getting at is that it's counterproductive to correct someone like that. It would've made sense if she referred to him as..idk..Pakistani or Nepali and he had to say "Indian". There would've been a reason for the correction.
It's like if someone called someone else European and the other person corrects them and says "French". It's just...odd.
((And as a side note, lots of Indians are annoyed at people forgetting they're Asians just because they're not East or Southeast Asian.))
i have an extreme love hate relationship with this movie

I could not have put this into better words
i do too. as in i love to hate this movie.
@@brinda2553 LOL
I love how unashamedly good the actors are, I hate the whole story in general. Man, all of them were hilarious. Writing sucked, but the actors were charismatic enough to pull it off.

A lot of this was problematic; however, the most problematic thing about this video is that you willingly watched something called “A Cinderella Story 3”

now that was a violation 💀
leave us alone we was kids 😭✋
It’s not even called that 💀
The 3 is not included in the actual title..
As an Indian, what offended my about the Indian party was how ugly it was, I mean come on if your going to be racist put some effort in! Also if they wanted to explore Indian culture im all for it, but this is just done so stupidly.
Honeslty tho, I don’t mind seeing that one Indian character exploit the stepmother for profit, it’s just reverse colonization lol
@@piggyzillaxx6711 honey, that’s is not respecting AT ALL. that is a white woman who fetishized Indian culture and didn’t even do it properly. And ah yes, Indians wear belly dancer and Arabic clothes and all of us are gurus. If you think that’s respecting I don’t think your doing it right either lol.

All the Cinderella story movies were so problematic. Praised because of the romance yet the romance interest was always a guy in his 30s wanting a 16 year old. Shit is disgusting.
Someone finally said it
Not the Hillary Duff one though lol don't bring her into this she's innocent
That has been the second one

I thought it couldn't get worse than a nearly 30 year old love interest for a teenage girl in the last movie and then THIS happens? lordy jesus
Hollywood is so damn weird
As an Indian American, I have so many mixed feelings about this movie. Even though there are some scenes that make my blood boil (the Bollywood dance scene), I've still seen it a bajillion times and I know all the songs

The punch and electrocution scene has me perplexed
has anyone also noticed that Camp Rock also fits into the another cinderella story list of movies because she basically in a way lied about who she was until it was revealed and all the fairy godmothers’ “magic” (basically her lie) faded away and she was called out. unless someone already mentioned this and i’m late or just don’t make sense at all.

As an adult, the racism is a *BIG* no from me.
I didn't know the difference between cultural appropriation & cultural appreciation until *YEARS* later so I thought they were doing the latter until I got older & realized they were doing the former 😭🤢
I was gonna say something about the urinal singing scene but I'll be honest, who knows what boys do in there? They could be starting a choir for all I know.
Then there's the song "Sarcastically"
me realising the male love interest is the same guy as prince friedrich in bridgerton
holy crap how did i miss that
I think they could have at least made it so that the stepdaughter "Cinderella" character was Indian, the stepmother married her father for part gold-digging, part fetishizing reasons and then, they could have gotten so many good jokes mocking her ignorance.
