    This will never work with my 19 year old cat. I can’t even hold her still. The veterinarian profession and the pharmaceutical industry need to figure out a better solution for people to administer medication to cats. This is ridiculous having to go through all this B.S.

      How about this tactic, I can't hold this one either. Need more time but still ok

    Thanks for this video! We use to have a cat (he now lives with my oldest son) that wouldn't take his medicine. Sometimes he would trick us in believing that he did take it because we would later find the pill on the ground. He's a pretty smart cat.

    Interesting video. Those gel caps look huge! No way I could get my cat to eat them. In fact I'm watching videos like this because he fights tooth and nail any attempt to give him any liquid medication. I know the "shooting it down their throat" is supposed to be a choking hazard but it's the only way with this cat, and that's with TWO people. I'm really struggling to find a way to give him meds. He just squirms his head around any time he even sees a syringe.

    • @MeloCat
      @MeloCat  Год назад +1

      It's not huge, you can use smaller size and more caps instead if you like~

    • @marcoguzzo7623
      @marcoguzzo7623 Год назад

      I agree Paul, my cat would never even sit calmly between my lap. Maybe the first time, but once he's onto what comes after that, won't happen!
      I can barely do the shooting down throat method as he squirms like mad.
      Thanks to to the creator of this video, but this method only works with a cat that is at least somewhat cooperative.

    Your kitty is so good. I am struggling with my kitty. She fights me and is very difficult to put a pill in her mouth without getting bit. She took her meds in a soft treat for years with no problems but now she is elderly and her appetite is so poor she won't eat treats anymore and I have to manually pill her and it is such a struggle to get the pills down. She spits them out over and over and won't allow me to get them back over her tongue so they will go down. I try to be calm and not upset her but she always throws a fit. It would be so nice if she would let me medicate her and I wouldn't have to be dreading it every day.

      I find that breaking it into tiny morsels and wrapping it in tiny pill pockets work good w that, takes longer time but much less stressful for kitty. And "confuse" them infusing the intervals w some other treats... let me know if it works for you too
